Dead Rising 2 to feature full 2 player co-op!!

Some Dead Rising 2 Info from the article:

1) Changed Save system with multiple save slots

2) Full 2 player co-op throughout the game

3) New interactive combo/environment kills system that replaces the old camera picture taking system to gain EXP.

4) Set in a casino that is itself a mall

5) Combining weapons to make new items like a football and grenade, boat paddle and chainsaw, etc.

This is going to be awesome as hell. Even though I don't like co-op in a single player focused game like this, I think it will be amazing to just mess around with it. I'm less happy about the save system being changed though :(.
 
And a neutered save system to appeal to all the pussy whiners who played the first one wrong. :\

The save system wouldnt have been a problem if the "SAVE & CONTINUE" menu dialogue wasn't so vague.

Full 2 player co-op? FUCK YES! I guess you gotta give something to get something... the save system was a necessary sacrifice to gain full co-op. Dead Rising is one of my top 15 favorite games of all time... DR2 could break the top 5 if it's just as good plus has co-op.

Hopefully the coop doesn't dumb down the single player campaign and hopefully it's split screen coop.

I thought they already said they were gonna have multiple save systems?
 
I figured they'd relent to give not-so-good gamers a shot at having fun with it, but multiple save slots is just dumb when you think about it. It's about intensifying the danger and challenge of accomplishing and importance of saving. It made the zombie hordes and other stuff more than just something that sends you off to respawn or reload. It made you think about what you would do a lot more by putting a lot more weight on your choices and performance. As long as there's the old way of saving available (with some gameplay alterations to suit), I don't have a problem with weakling mode. :) The two-player co-op news rocks.
 
To answer a few more questions, according to the new Game Informer, yes the camera is gone. Instead you get more PP based upon combine weapons and unique kills. One example discussed in the article is a teddy bear and machine gun to make a "freedom bear."

The second player plays as another Chuck (not Frank) but lots of crazy costumes to differentiate your Frank from your co-op partner's. And the custumes are totally crazy. Everything from spandex superhero and Barney heads to Grocho Marx glasses, football uniforms and hockey masks.

The co-op they discuss in the article is definitely ONLINE co-op. No mention of local either way, but I doubt it.

Well, I'll only be using one of those multiple save slots. Hope they still give you an option to restart the game with your EXP if you die.

Yeah but knowing capcom pc by now, pc version will be delayed 2 weeks before its release and pushed ahead to 6 months later and will come out in a heavily crowded week withouth any marketing and be send to die
(even if the port is good)......

OT co-op is cool and hopefully there is no time limit to the game and you can go and play around for 10 hours IF you want to and than go ahead with the story.
Than I do not mind the "weird" save system, I want to play games in my own tempo

I wonder how will that co-op work. Will it be a co-op like in RE5/GoW, that is if you're playing alone you have an AI partner? If so, I don't want it :(

No, when the second player comes in, they are just another Chuck, so it is more like Halo, drop in and there is just a doppleganger character.

Bullshit. There should be a 'classic' mode. One save slot is part of what made DR1 so fun because you really had to think about how you wanted to play, and building experience to get through the later parts during your first run at times required you to restart your game. The fun in that was you could always play in a different way, getting EXP in the process... it opened up a whole new dynamic I haven't really experienced in a game before..

Oh well, everything else sounds good.
