Played the beta and it did nothing for me. I think we have another Hardware Rivals on our hands, a muliplayer game that was going to be sent out to die otherwise.
Astebreed is also really good shmup.
This. I only had an Xbox 360 last gen so there are a lot of great PS3 games that I never got to play. Those would really have a lot of value for me, since the remasters are usually fully priced as a new game. I nearly bit on Heavy Rain for £25 the other day, but I'm hoping that's the kind of thing we get on plus.
Am I wrong? We still haven't gotten a AAA, originally $60, game since PS4 came out?
Thanks. Can't believe Knack, Black Flag, Killzone, etc. haven't been games yet.I think there have only been two retail release games on Plus for PS4. Injustice: Gods Amongst Us was a Plus game the Christmas before last and Metal Gear Ground Zeros in the run up to V's release last year.
I recall Injustice being a full priced release. However, it had been in several sales with a heavy discount before it was on Plus.
Dead Star... back when Muse were good. Back when they could do no wrong.
What's wrong with multiplayer freebies?
So anyone else playing this?
I'm really enjoying the dog fighting and the way the different ship classes play together. Outmaneuvering another players frigate in a scout ship is really exiting because you know that at any moment a single weapons burst can kill you.
The Razor ship that has the blink move and the damage aura is my favorite ship right now. Jukeing enemies out with the blink is awesome.
The MOBAish structure was kind of surprising to me. I'm not sure if I'll enjoy playing it with randoms for the long run. I do like that you can still significantly help your team out if you just try and avoid combat and mine ore.
Played about 4 hours last night when I really didn't expect to. I was also pleasantly surprised by the depth of this game. The dog fighting is really fun but also not so punishing that you cannot escape when truly outclassed. With the mining mechanic, much like Splatoon, you can still be useful to your team while trying to learn the complexities of the game.
I'm bummed to see less discussion about this game, but I guess I understand it. Other then the character art, the game looks and sounds pretty generic, especially since there are so many twin stick shooters and MOBA's on the market.
I know people like to dog on PS+ but this game is genuinely one I would have never tried and enjoyed without it. I rank this up there with Grow Home and Helldivers as games I ended up truly loving as a result of the curation.
I can't find a single online game on this. It's pretty much unplayabla that way for me.
Watching the video I linked above, this game looks goddamn BRILLIANT
Please have a community... PLEASE! Even though I just stared playing Paragon heavily, I really want to play this casually on the side. It looks so brilliantly designed!
Edit: How long are matches on average? Can you come and go during matches without much pressure? Can you match-make into an active match? I hope yes.
I'm a little miffed that the capital ship escape mode is a super special thing that you can only even attempt after you get a rare drop in a match. The idea of warping in and out of other matches sounds super cool, but it being a consumable thing seems like it'll be very difficult to attempt or even get good at it.
I'm also hoping that the community can grow to a degree where other game modes are possible. A more focused dogfight mode without the area control aspects and with just the fighters would be really fun, for example.
Yeah I was bummed when I noticed that myself. I can understand if it was something timeboxed you could only do once a week, but after playing a handful of matches and not getting a ticket, I am not convinced on how frequently this will even occur.
It's a shame because it seems like a really unique feature that I can't really think of from any other game. Dunno why they'd want to hide it away.

Yeah, I loved what I played, but can't play anything beyond that.Same here, enjoyed the tutorials but can't find any matches. Every other game is fine so i assume its an issue somewhere else
So far April is looking to be another shit month for me.
We'd love to hear some ideas! It is something we've tossed around quite a bit.
I was kind of thinking a player vs. AI swarm mode would be interesting. A lot of the ships seem to offer synergies against one another so it would be cool to teams go in with individual ships of their choice and see how long they can survive against waves of enemies. The current modes are interesting enough on there for now though--I understand why it needs to be limited for matchmaking purposes.
Is there any road map for continued support in this game? I'd be interested to hear about things coming down the pipeline if there is anything you can share.
We're working on a fleshed out plan but for now, we have two ship expansions planned for the near future that we already mentioned elsewhere. The Kurg (if you played the beta, you'll remember them) and a brand new race, the Quaz'l. Each will come with three new ships and new pilot portraits. There are other things we have in the works but frankly we want to accommodate what the community wants and less about what we think is best. We're a pretty small team (around 10), which allows us to be agile!
A more streamlined co-op experience is a frequently requested item and it's something we'd like to do!
