I'm more interested in the next death battle even though the outcome is clear-cut. There's no way Epyon is going to lose.

yep. someone posted this one in the Dark Knight vs. TWC cap thread. video is terrible. there's been about 2 or 3 fairly long cap vs. batman threads already- outcome is always the same.

That was during the 90s. Cap's improved a bit but Batman got worse, thanks to new 52 compressing his entire history into a 5 year time span.

I don't need to watch a video to know there will be an explanation on how Batman wins every battle he'd ever conceivably find himself in.

true, but no one sane expects that one to stick, right along with the Thor business. Steve has
lost the serum before
and that's always been reversed. First time he's
been turned old as a result though

It will probably last about as long as the spiderman thing did. Nick Fury though, that guy is probably staying right where he is.

The actual comic fights themselves are pretty much meaningless since they are decided entirely by author's intent. An objective analysis of facts is the best way to go about determining these things.

That being said, I give it about even odds, leaning towards Cap.

Dont think they will do batman again, or atleast not for a while, death battle does their fights usually on a theme, superman vs goku, gamera vs godzilla, samus vs boba fett, Link VS Cloud, etc. As thats usuallly subjects where fans compare who would win in a fight, batman was the first ever person they brought back for a second death battle

This is incorrect, since Marvel and DC have editors that prevent authors from doing "whatever they want". You want to do something ridiculous, it needs editorial approval before it hits the page- and editorial have large "bibles" that function as guidelines for what to do and what not to do with flagship characters.

That particular crossover especially, since the outcome of every fight had to be agreed on by both Marvel AND DC editorial before it saw print. There was a different crossover prior to it that was fan voted though- most people ignore that one since it had nonsense like wolverine taking out lobo because of it.

Edit: that being said, JLA/Avengers is very old, both characters are different, and marvel has kinda/sorta retconned the entire thing and doesn't consider it valid.

Batman deflecting straight on punches from Cap might break bones, certainly trying to deflect that Shield thrown at full strength would disable him from continuing to fight.

Batman's advantage would have to be out of line of sight attacks and not a straight up fist fight. Because in a straight up fist fight, Batman loses everytime. It's not even a fatigue thing. Cap punches with the force of 5 Tyson's. Batman's armor can dampen it as much as it wants, but he is still just human. A full force punch would probably break something and knock him out cold, blocked or not. Cap can react fast enough to dodge bullets, so I doubt Bats would ever land a clean punch in a straight fight, and his shield is practically indestructible and absorbs all force/kinetic energy.

So I call bullshit. Bats wold have been downed after the first exchange in that fight. and certainly after the shield hit him in the back of the head.

I'm sure there is a way Batman could win, but that fight in the video wasn't it.

Caps Shield is made of Vibranium, which absorbs Energy. As long as Cap helds the Shield with the Explosiv side aways from him, this should not be a problem.

Cap is a incredible Strategist and Tactician... Bruce may have a better scientific knowledge, but this isnt to helpful in a 1:1 fight...

Yeah, but I dont think that Batman relies most time on his scientific knowledge beyond the times, when he builds his gadgets/ is making preptime.

Batman (and also Spider-Man of course) had an advantage, when the fight would be placed in a laboratory or if you want a factory, but in other areas its more important, how you can fight and how good you can plan the fight, and there had Cap an advantage.
Also, while he has no "real" superpowers and superstrengh in the classic way, he has still the increased strengh, speed and stamina... I see them almost on par, but maybe Captain America would win.

Batman killed fucking Darkseid, Captain Propaganda fans need to give it up already. He ain't pulling it off against the Dark Knight, especially with how crazy his suit is now. Bats has to have at least 10 things in his belt that could drop Cap in a second.

Yep, Batman is nowadays a walking Deus Ex Machina, who also beats Superman all the time in the ass, regardlessly how stupid it always is. How Boring, dont you think? ;)

Batman killed Darkseid's physical avatar with a god killing bullet that he found and had no part in creating. People forget the 7th issue of Final Crisis, where Darkseid still managed to pretty much destroy all of reality after Batman "killed" him until Superman took care of business.

Batman has become a walking God. They needed him to be relevant in the rest of the DC Universe so they gave him awesome intelligence, physical prowess, gadgets, etc. It made him unstoppable because he always has a gadget that counters shit.

Batman is better when he's a guy in a bat costume fighting crime not saving the world from a Death God.

Yeah it's ridiculous how OP they made him because how else can you justify a regular dude being on a team with the most powerful beings in the universe? Make sure he has a gadget for every situation at all times and that he's never caught off guard and is always prepared heavily in advance for every situation no matter how bizarre it is. Somehow he knows that a meteor is headed his way when he's taking a #2 and can take care of it quickly with a simple button press from a controller in his pocket....but not before he washes his hands.
