Destiny 2 Veterans - your quick info and answer needed

Game Pass has a ton of free shit for it including that new expansion pack later. Never played the game, but will when I get Series X which plays it at 60 fps. I'm one of those guys who has a hard time play 30 fps shooters. Man, did I have trouble playing BF BC and BF 3 on 360.

Some questions:

1. Can I play this 100% solo?

2. Is this game basically a sci-fi, FPS shooter version of Diablo? Random-ish levels, monsters and gear?..... play the same quest again and it's still kind of different

3. I skim online stuff and see there's tons of quests and shit, but is there anything to do in these quests aside from walk to the hot spot and kill the mobs of enemies and bosses? In other words, are there puzzles, fetch quests, escort missions or any other kind of quest type aside from blast everything that moves?

4. It's pretty easy to level up fast in Diablo, is Destiny similar or a slow grind?

5. I prefer playing shooters with mid/long range assault rifles and LMG kinds of guns. Which is the best class and weapons to strive for?

Thanks!

(Edit: Sorry I condensed it into 5 questions, as my Diablo references were same-ish)

1) yes
2) yes
3) there are no escort missions, there are puzzles in raids and dungeons, bounties are essentially fetch quest in a sense "kill 10 fallen*, *collect 15 planetary materials*
4) it's relatively fast to level up to the minimum cap for activities but if you wish to grind out the last few additional levels that can be quite a grind but there are bonuses for doing so.
5) levels/open world don't change at random, except for the Dreaming City which has a weekly cycle but still it doesn't change too much. Every strike/raid has a set boss with no alternate paths or random boss/enemy type. Some exotics are tied exclusively to certain activities but the loot pool for a lot of activities is random so there is a chance to get different items when replaying the same strikes or missions.
6) classes don't impact weapon choices. Classes are different only when it comes to their intrinsic abilities but weapons are just as good/bad if you're playing as a warlock/titan/or hunter.

Extra Credit-Destiny is in my opinion the best live service shooter going today. It is definitely not without its fault and even years later they're still learning as they go. I've been here since then original alpha so I've seen all them highs and lows.

I know you've mentioned playing solo but be aware some activities like raids and end game content require pre filled parties cause they don't have matchmaking. These are worth experiencing and the lfg built into the destiny app is very useful. I've played quite a few live service games and the destiny community has been more helpful than not even though there are still assholes.

Thanks Deadpool.

Looks like it's what I expected except your point about levels not changing (aside from loot). That would be like playing Diablo with the exact same map layouts each time. Might be a turn off when I get to playing it. But who knows.

But cheers for the info.

I would recommend you jump in now as they're going to take a lot of content out of the game when the next expansion drops on Nov. 10 just like the Series X. At least do some the main missions and explore the planets that they are taking away. And harder activities that do grant the best reward aren't meant for solo players, especially not casuals so you will need to do some LFGing through Xbox Communities LFG or matchmaking.
