Destiny |OT28| Nolan Beyond

I tried jumper once as well, I couldn't do it. I don't like clicking the sticks for melee, especially when bladedancing. I'd prefer if melee stayed on r1 and grenade moved to x. I just don't know where super should be. Maybe clicking right stick, maybe a d-pad button.

That was actually the hard part for me. Melee felt so weird with R3 and definitely didnt feel natural at all while blade dancing. After using it for a weekend in PvP, you get used to it. You might still mess up a couple of times during sweaty moments, but overall it'll click.

The first couple of times you use a super instead of jump, is usually entertaining.

I'll always remember my first. Nightfall with Drizzay and Unstable. Archon Priest. After the waves, instead of jumping to summon my sparrow, I put a bubble down. "Think they mind if we take these Pikes? No but they might mind covering them in a bubble" Unstable: "Thanks for the blessing, I guess?"

This kid Twilight asked me for help in the Tower with his Invective bounty so I played a few matches over share play and got him some clips Kapa

But yeah Ze I know what you mean. Getting the knife headshot so you can finish an enemy off super quickly or kill him if he's taken just a tiny bit of damage is something I see as more of a clutch play. Doing it consistently and just making it part of you play style doesn't sound like something the vast majority of players will put the required practice into. Double Blink Strike gauntlets tho? Gimme.

I didn't wanna watch today's stream so as to avoid spoilers. But I dreamt there would be a sword.

You'd be surprised. I switched after more than 1500 hours of Active time played. Just make peace with the fact that scrubby moments will happen. It doesn't take too long to start feeling comfortable, a couple weeks. I forced myself to keep Jumper during all weekly PvE stuff, then moved to normal Crucible before finally jumping into Trials.

Being able to jump and aim as smoothly as you can with Jumper is just objectively better.
Do you play bladedancer Drizz? I was practicing jumper last night and the click to attack during bladedancer wasn't very effective in terms of speed.

Eh, tried to teach Skolas to a couple of friends but couldn't pass round 4. I know general tricks on mines, but what's the best option for target killing on round 4 without a titan with the helm? Especially for wave 3.

Do you have Found Verdicts? If so I'd still wait by the door and just shotty blast him fast. It's easy on Wave 2 since the VIP spawns first but Wave 3 has a Shrapnel Captain Major and at least one Stealth Vandal before the VIP shows up. With no Titans I assume you have a Warlock or two so just be prepared to die and self res then run far far away after VIP is dead.

You could also keep your distance, stay up high and GHorn him but he's slippery. Bear in mind the VIP is actually a Lv36 enemy plus Specialist makes Heavy weapons do half damage so GHorns won't exactly melt him. If you have Hunters you could use invis to trail him until he's relatively isolated then shotty blast away. Shotguns and especially FV are the key to that round.

lol

I find knife on R3 to be much more intuitive than the bumper, but I can see how that wouldn't be the case on a Bladedancer. Admittedly, mashing the stick to melee over and over to move around isn't the greatest feeling in the world, especially with the Sword.

Either way, I don't think it's a useless armor piece. I asked for an exotic that gave us an additional throwing knife, which means the Gunslinger will be able to spec into Chain of Woe instead.

Off topic but I've had the hiccups for 3 days in a row, for the 3rd week in a row (it'll be 3 consecutive days, then gone for 4 days, repeat).

My Enrage timer is getting high and it's non Destiny related.

No matter what I try it doesn't go away for longer than an hour or 2.

Everyone I play destiny with is always "you still have the hiccups?!". Hiccups |OT3| Still There?
I remember watching a tv show when I was younger about a guy just like you. Mr Hiccups I think his name was.

I can't stand melee on R3 for Jumper. Only thing I don't like but it really annoys me, especially the way I play. Have a hard time not pressing too hard and melee'ing during sweaty moments.

Yep, BDancer is my main, very rarely play other subclasses now. It's the only subclass I use for Trials carries. Obviously it has some weaknesses but I absolutely can't deal with how slow every other class feels by comparison. Blink, Quick Draw and high Agility are way too good. You can get revives and make dramatic escapes that would never happen with another character.

As for Jumper, yeah the right stick is very bad. I've gotten used to it by now and don't feel a huge drop in speed but maybe I've forgotten. I usually don't need top speed though, especially since each swipe drains your super energy. Ideally you want to be selective with when you swipe and use blink accordingly for movement/momentum. I only spam as fast as possible when taking down a self res Warlock or something.

Never spam melee straight at people unless they are dead to rights and not using a shotgun. Blink up and swipe once or twice to confuse them, move left and right, be unpredictable. Develop a feel for when you are close enough to be within range of the swipe's auto attack. Let gravity drop you within range and then click once. Remember that an Arc Blade attack does 241 damage so you need to swipe twice on full health enemies that have a revive shield or Warlocks w a melee overshield.

You have seen me doing this way too much I imagine XD. I got used to the controls in 2 days but man, how many times I have displaced some air after sniping someone...
I did shotgun + melee someone yesterday, but only accidentally. Good thing I main a Voidwalker, using blade with the stick doesn't feel right to me.

Well I cleared the daily story and did two Clasg matches going 15-13 and 19-11, which is definitely not how games usually go for me, but Jumper wasn't that bad. I'll stick with it. I feel like I can get some benefit from it once I iron out the kinks.

Haha I've seen it once or twice... I will say that it adds some style points when you get a headshot and it looks like you meant to do a celebratory air high five.

Good tips thanks, I'll put in more practice this week. I can see why zoba loves jumper for TLW with the gunslinger, I suppose I just need to put in a bit more practice with the BD.

It took me 3 weeks to get used to it if I'm being honest. I still slip up on supers from time to time (bladedancer especially).

Gives you a whole dimension back. Jump. Jump out of the way. Jump behind cover. Jump again.

I'll be a lot more motivated to switch after blink is nerfed. In my experience mid air control is not as valuable with blink as compared to other jumps.

I think I'm going to start using my titan for most PvP stuff until taken king, except for trials, so that I can get better with that class in time for the awesome hammers. I'm already comfortable with Warlock and I almost play exclusively on my hunter currently.

I hate blink - so I'd be a hypocrite if I used it. The ability to stay in the air before was nothing more than cute and disorienting before, but I feel lot more comfortable doing backflips now that Icarus weapons have been introduced. Where as blink is really just to get the drop on people and a damned amazing defensive jump, Eao+Controlled Jump(s) has really turned into something that's worked extremely well for me in PvP lately.

Titan is a nice class to play in pvp. As a titan main person, the blink is your worse nightmare but with your skills you will have no problem to destroy everything.

Do not forget: T-REX HANDS but when charged they do kill!

We already had OT4 with the boots reference. Remember when they just wouldn't drop for Timmins?

i never figured out who Timmins was :(

Those were pants, not boots. I think most 29's were missing the raid boots, myself included.

Just do it. Don't let your dreams be dreams.

Yeah OT 29 should be Forever 29, to remember the Year 1 Struggle.

Yup, OT 29 must have the forever 29 reference.

Man IB is an exercise in frustation, top of the leaderboard one match to can't get a kill on the next as no one takes any damage. My K/D was anything from +2 to -.5

On the plus side after watching pewpew wreck with Hawkmoon in trials, I used it for the first time in crucible and man it wrecks. I'd forgotten how butter smooth it is as once I got fatebringer its been relegated to my vault, please don't come out of 2.0 useless

I was wondering why you were doing it on that Trials video. Fun to watch though.

It's because the melee is on R3 if you're playing Jumper T_T
After sniping someone I always try to turn away and in the process I slightly touch R3 resulting in a melee. But if I actually want to punch someone I need a full press on the R3.
I still have to learn a lot, it has only been a week since I switched, but I don't have to tell myself "you have your super, don't press X" anymore :D
