Tempted.
But I'm pretty sure there is going to be a PC/Xbox/PS3 patch or DLC bundle down of the way.

nothing comparable to this, honestly. it had map (very useful) and tap-positioning. not all the hacking-scanning-coding-snaping stuffs they are putting here

they should have two completely different interfaces to add offtv.
of course, they could add it.

But that's the shitty boss version.
It'll be my first question to them!
If there's one game that can potentially run at 1080, it's this one. It's not terribly demanding, which is probably the main reason they chose to port it over something more recent/desirable like Tomb Raider.Even Nintendo Land isn't 1080p. Why would this be?
For a PS360 multiplat port on the WiiU? Hardly. Maybe I'm just too cynical about the effort third parties spend on their WiiU SKUs but the thought honestly never entered my mind. >_>There's also 1080 p?
I'd rather have IR support than off-TV play.No IR, no buy!
Don't be silly.
You're sure? PC I could see happening in theory but it's hard to see it being financially sensible to release a (trivial) patch/DLC to this old game on consoles. Not to mention that it costs money.
why would that happen? If the changes results in a more satisfying ending regardingI'll let myself be charged $50 right now! Those that have played the game know why.Megan and she gets what she deserves
18 months after the original release and $50 is not workable, sorry.
19 months after the original release and $20 might be tempting, though.
That's what happens if you listen to Jeff Gerstmann too much!Sorry, I'm using the word "dumb" in a non-pejorative sense way too often nowadays. I love the names, it's cool. In-universe justification/contextualisation of gameplay mechanics is always the best thing.
Overpriced special edition also costs money...
I know it hurts you to know that PC won't have the best version. Especially if Wii U has it. But you gotta accept the facts if this Director's Cut is not sold to the other platforms. Everything seems to be an improvement.
Still is too fucking expensive though if the Amazon price was right.
Is there any chance that Directors Cut's gameplay changes (no touch screen and Wii U GamePad functions) will be available for PC and other consoles as well? Cuz if they are not,....
Maybe this wasn't the un-announced wiiU game they were showing at PAX east?...since it's now announced already.
I don't understand some people's displeasure at the lack of off TV play for WiiU games. I would much rather developers take advantage of the console's key feature and ensure it's utilized in a manner that enhances the experience. If off TV play is supported, developers can't really do anything too radical with it since it can no longer be used as a key gameplay component.
Regarding this port in particular, I'd consider it if it was reasonably priced, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. If I really feel the need to play it I'll probably get it on Steam instead.

It doesn't hurt me to know that it's still not as good as the PC version. To suggest a game still stuck on modern hardware will be better than a game you can play in 3D, 1080p or higher and 60fps is, like I said, being silly.
Patching costs money on PS3 and 360. That's why it's so rare.

Details
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-03-20-deus-ex-human-revolution-directors-cut-for-wii-u-confirmed-and-yes-theyve-fixed-the-boss-battles
-Each of the game's three boss fights have had their map layouts reworked to provide players with alternative potential strategies. New hacking challenges are available to players who focus on hacking, and stealth options are available to those who focus on stealth. You can now kill the bosses without firing a single bullet
-On Wii U the energy system has been made more forgiving by allowing for two energy cells to recharge by default on all but the hardest difficulty. This should mean players use Jensen's augmentation powers more freely.--So now, on Wii U, you can use the GamePad to see enemy health, armour type (heavy, medium or light) and loot. The idea is this will let players plan their moves better; by checking loot you'll be able to identify a target who is carrying a pocket secretary, which may contain the code for a locked door you're after, or decide not to go into a room because it's packed with heavies with loads of hit points.
-You can also use the GamePad to navigate the menus, to display the map, the augmentation system, the inventory and all the rest. "All the systems are now linked to the Neural Hub," Dugas continues. "All your maps, your inventory, your augmentation menu, your mission log, are now systems in Adam Jensen.
-There are swipe controls, too. One new feature, called grenade throwback, allows Jensen to equip a proximity detector that alerts him to a nearby grenade. So, if an enemy chucks a grenade at you, the GamePad will vibrate, and you can swipe the touch-screen to pick it up and lob it back.
-You can also use the touch-screen for the hacking mini-game, using your fingers to progress, and to punch in codes. Meanwhile, for weapons that have a scope, such as the sniper rifle, you can use your telly to centre on your target, then enter a precision mode using the touch-screen, which displays the cross-hair.
-Included in this "ultimate package" is all of the DLC, but it has been retrofitted to slot seamlessly into the main game. The Missing Link DLC is now included in the main story rather than separated out, and the pre-order bonus mission to rescue Tong's son is popped in, too.
-There's Half-Life 2-style director's commentary, what amounts to some eight hours of chat from Eidos Montreal developers. Icons dotted around the world can activate this voice over, and you're free to continue playing as you listen.
Those renders of Jensen holding the GamePad, hahah
Re-done boss fights makes this the definitive version, easily.
They were no fun to fight and murdered me over and over. Maybe that wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't Unreal Engine 3 but those loads (360) sucked hard. They take maybe five minutes each and are pretty damn easy to kill. I don't get the hate, although it completely goes against the idea of not killing someone/stealth.

It's incredible how the Wii U received very sporadic (and in this case: dumb) support but for almost every (few, I repeat) game it receives there are people looking for "multiplatform" release ;p
Both pre-order DLC packs (Tong mission included) have been for sale for a while now, for consoles anyway.Integrating the extra missions might be harder as you have to buy those and not everyone has them. The Tong mission was a a preorder bonus and not sure if that is even for sale.
So, in conclusion, the only thing that matters now is 1080p. Hey, look, I think I'm going to recommend you what surely will be your 2013 GOTY.It doesn't hurt me to know that it's still not as good as the PC version. To suggest a game still stuck on modern hardware will be better than a game you can play in 3D, 1080p or higher and 60fps is, like I said, being silly.
Just read about the bit of not having to actually kill the bosses
Who asked for this?
Yeah. Off-TV play is a nice, easy-to-add feature, ideal for developers who don't have the time, budget or impetus to take advantage of the dual-screen setup. In its own right, it's fine. But if a developer *does* want to do right by the extra screens, that should be applauded.Annoyed at the "no off-tv, no sale" comments, I hope that's not indicative what people want out of their WiiU. Tbh, fuck off-TV support if that leads to developers not making good use of the two screens.
At the end of the day, no matter the tweaks and some added content, it's still a two years old port at $50.So Wii owners get the HUD advantages of the PC version and then some, they un-botched the boss fights for people who didn't do commando builds, improved the graphics, improved the AI, and added 8 hours of dev diaries.
Oh yeah, fuck you Square, you heartless bastards, how dare you shit on Wii U owners with this soulless cash-in.lol

So yeah, you only care about 3D(lol), resolution and framerates and ignore everything else. Is that really all you care about to judge what version is the best? Not the actual gameplay improvements?
