Cautiously optimistic but the 3rd party record on HD remasters hasn't been great. MGS HD is the first one any effort went into. I will wait for reviews and a DF analysis.

Devil May Cry 2 is probably the worst game I've ever played in my life. Won't touch anything with that putrid piece of garbage on it.

Sell DMC1 and 3 separately online and we have business :)
 
guess i'll finally get to finish DMC1 and then actually try DMC3. i got to the part in DMC where you have to chase those ghosts down those paths in order to go the right way, or something. game started to get really hard at that point, IMO. those cowskull wraith looking ghosts with the scicles (sp?) completely destroyed me. obviously it's been a while since i've played it.

can anyone comment on how difficult Easy mode is on DMC3? i hear the game itself is pretty brutal overall. :x

It's not the difficulty, it's the checkpoint system that made things so overkill... but thankfully it was fixed with the Special Edition. The game is only brutal in the first 7 levels when you don't have that many abilities... and then having to replay the entire level from the beginning all over again each time you die. After Mission 7 it's completely fair and probably about as hard as God of War 3 on Titan mode.

EDIT: Easy Mode? I'll be honest, I've never tried it. But if I could make it through normal mode I'm sure you can. I'm no elitist either, i still haven't beaten DMD mode.
 
Awesome news, but would only buy if they are made by Blue Point, their HD collections have been flaweless so far, compared to the ones done by Ubisoft or Capcom. And please, give me a proper Clover HD collection. Okami (with move support), Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 and God Hand. I would easily pay $60 for it.

hmmm, still sounds pretty scary. if they offer the games a la carte i will see how i feel after playing DMC1 first.

ALSO: the enemies i was talking about are called Deaths. twin scicles and cowskull mask. trap you in a "box" of those barriers and pummel me to near death, if not all the way completely dead. got SO frustrated fighting them.

Awesome. Will rent to play DMC 3. I beat 1 and 2, but never got around to 3. I tried to play 4 but gave up on it after around 4 hours.
 
I played through the most of RE4 on PS3 (not finished yet), the image quality is so terrible, texture shimmer, aliasing everywhere, for "HD" re master, it's hardly HD, these re-masters should look crisp clean at least, I don't expect them to redo textures but it should have better IQ. I hope they give these to Blue Point Games since look like they know what they are doing Ico collection looks pretty good and clean from what I played and runs smoothly.

i second the Onimusha Collection request. my friends always spoke highly of it last gen but i never got around to trying it. Okami HD with Move would be rad too.
 
The problem with an Onimusha HD collection is that the first two games are stuck with 640x480 SD prerendered backgrounds. There's no good way to get those into widescreen HD without totally remaking all of them, which would be prohibitively expensive (same reason we won't ever get HD up-ports of REMake and RE0).

Onimusha 3 and Onimusha:DoD ought to be pretty easy to port up to HD, at least, but Shin Onimusha kinda sucks.

Ah nuts forgot the pre-rendered bg's of the first Onimusha games. Thanks for reminding us. Capcom remaking the first two like they did with REmake has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Outside of maybe GTA, I think I'm good as far as PS2 series go. There are some more standalone games I would want remade though.
 
PS3 has no gaems, have to hd-fi the old ones. Amirite, amirite,amirite,amirite.


I hope this arrive to pc, sure buy just for dmc1

After having never played the first 3 DMC, I guess I might get that. Started with 4 as an impuls buy and was positivly surprised with it.

So, I will get the HD collection and play all three but I promised I try to hate the second as much as possible :)
