I'm wondering if this will actually be limited or not. Usually the WoW ones have been, but it seemed like Starcraft's was available cheaper later.Blizzard CEs feel like real CEs, in my opinion. The WoW and SC ones have been great.
In celebration of the D3 release date announcement, I give you all a gift.

This makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Anything addressed about having the WoW annual pass and those that want to have a physical collectors edition? Is that even possible or can you deny yourself the free digital copy of the game?
Bashiok said:The Collector's Edition is only available from retail, and that means to play as soon as possible you'll want to hit a midnight release to pick it up (or hope FedEx drops off your package super fast). We don't have any plans to release a digital CE, it's a retail-only kind of thing. But! you may have a few options.
If you have the WoW Annual Pass (or go sign up for it now) you get a free digital copy of Diablo III. This will give you the game right at midnight, you can go download right now, all that stuff. Then, when you pick up your CE, you can overwrite the standard edition license with the CE license and you'll be granted 4 months of game time (more or less equivalent to the cost of the standard edition). So that's a good option. More info also available in the Annual Pass FAQ.
Alternatively, you can get the digital version now, play right at midnight, overwrite your license with your CE when you pick it up, and then contact our support department. In most situations they'll be able to grant you a new standard key, which you can then give to a friend, or whatever.
And there goes any chance for Torchlight 2 to make any kind of impact.
Unless they release on ios devices.
Not a bad idea actually...
Hey Kinggi... please don't post that again.
Thanks.
you are a horrible person for destroying my shrine to Diablo. Horrible.
I'm only looking out for you![]()
okies, is there a thing against large images?
Torchlight 2 has pretty much blown it which is a shame. Can't believe there's a concrete date and I won't believe until the box is in my hands.
Any chance Blizzard surprises us and unlocks the game early?
It's already downloaded on my machine, the game is ready, it's painful waiting 2 months... :-(
That game is going to be pretty much irrelevant now.
Speak for yourself. I don't see any reason why I should skip Torchlight 2 for a pseudo-Diablo. Blizzard did almost everything to alienate fans of the original games, yet there'll be enough people who'll spend their money on the title only.
Wasn't that due to EA not wanting the Steam version to release before retail copies? I don't think Blizzard would have such an issue. Not a chance.
Need I remind you of this: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=426492?
Which was Valve, no less.

Speaking as someone who's played the hell out of the beta, this is anything BUT "pseudo". This is Diablo in it's purest form.
No digital CE means I'll be picking up the physical one. Is there any word on preorder bonuses yet?
Fuck, so this means I have 2 weeks to play Tera and experience all the content in that game before D3 ends my entire life.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
If I were En Masse I would be shitting a brickhouse full of bricks right now and trying to figure out how to move the release date for Tera up a month.
^^^ I fuckin love this post above me ^^^
There was a blue post earlier in the day about overwriting your digital key with your CE key, then contacting CS and "in most situations" you would be able to receive another key to replace your original digital key to give to a friend. We'll see how that works out though. I think that's a big question on a lot of people's minds.

Being one of the few people that played the area not meant to be played I can say that it very much is Diablo.Speak for yourself. I'm not eligible for the WoW annual pass. : (
Doesn't give any specific reason. My inactive account was hacked last year so maybe that's why I'm not in good standing. Blows.
While Torchlight 2 will have its followers, D3 will pretty much dominate due to actually having a solid release date.
What about the console version? How high is the possibility of playing this game this summer on XBox 360 ?
