Diablo 3 Release Date: May 15 [Orders & pre-loading up today]

lol... Ok that's cool and all. But I'm pretty sure most people recognize Diablo as THE game to play coop.

Can you guys explain to me more in detail on how the loot system goes when in a party? I haven't played the beta and haven't read any information at all to contain my excitement. However, I may need to get some information now that an imminent release is coming.

You just reminded me of Bhaal runs back in the day. The click spamming when the item starts dropping out. RING OF TELEKINESIS FTW.

The stuff that is dropped only you can see and loot. Other people get thier own loot.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS....

Is Duriel back or someone else like him?

*thinks back to Diablo 2*

-HOLY FREEZE PWN
-"Looking for Baal?!?!?!"

From diablo.incgamers.com:

"Before patch 15, this was the tooltip of the buff that we get after killing Elites:
Defeating an Elite pack has increased your Magic Find and Gold Find.

Here’s how it looks now:

Defeating an Elite pack has increased your Magic Find and Gold Find. This effect ends if you change skills.

I guess now we know how we’ll get rewarded for making good all-around builds."

What an elegant way to incentivize sticking with a build once Hell/Inferno rolls around. I'm impressed.

Oh wow that is clever

Re: brilliant mechanic

Gasp! I can't believe Blizzard actually knows what they are doing with a franchise as beloved as Diablo! What a surprise!

Seriously, this game seems to get better and better with each bit of news.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but did anyone pre-purchase through Battle.net and pay through PayPal and get double charged? I have my PayPal charge and one through their online store. Did anyone else get this sort of thing happened? The online store one is still listed as pending. I'll probably wait till the pending goes away and if the two charges are there, I'll have to contact their support to get that fixed. :(

Does anyone know if you can play with /player 8 like in diablo 2? I really enjoyed the extra challenge, loot and experience. Not sure if it even worked online in D2 though

I assume this effect stacks.

This just reminded me that diablo 3 won't support 8 players, which I believe was blizzards biggest mistake this time around. "too much on the screen" is a bad excuse since you couldn't see what the hell was going on in d2 a lot of the time anyway. All you could do to contribute in Baal runs was to try to click on the enemies through the madness, yet it was still freakin awesome.

Yet, aside from Baal runs, 8 players generally never actually all played together.

Because it's actually not that fun to play with so many people. I never played in parties bigger than 6.

I wish Blizzard would step up their marketing for Diablo 3, I want more dev interviews or videos or whatever to smooth the wait till May 15th. You'd think their marketing team would have tons of stuff prepared considering how long it's being delayed.

That's what I find so hilarious about Blizzard. They don't need an obnoxious marketing blitz to sell the fuck out of their new game.

There's something very admirable about that.

You can't.

I thought that playing solo in D2 wasn't very rewarding or challenging at all :/ that's a shame. Guess I'll have to play with random players then. The main reason I hated playing on BNet was because players would rush to get the loot and didn't care if it was a huge upgrade for you.. They just took it and probably sold it to a vendor lol. I'm kinda glad everybody gets their own loot now.

Diablo doesn't need advertisements, it will be the #1 or #2 best selling PC game of the year easily.

The only advertisement it really needs is a big sign that says "You can buy it now".

I don't mean conventional TV advertisements or CG clips, I mean stuff like showcasing new areas and abilities. Actually I'm not really sure what I want but I WANT MOAR DIABLO MARKETING.

Anyone buy the Book of Cain? How is it? Im getting the CE for Diablo 3 and think it would be neat to get this also.

I really liked it. It gives you a really good overview of the Diablo universe and a lot of it's characters.
Even though I've played Diablo 1 and 2 for years, I never fully understood a lot of the main story beats, and The Book of Cain explains all of it in a really nice/fun way.
The only bummer is that after finishing it the wait for D3 is even harder! :P

They got a ton of free advertising the day they said May 15th release date. The Internets exploded that day lol. Pretty sure everyone already knows what D3 is anyway...can't wait for the launch trailer. Blizzard launch trailers are always so awesome.
