Dictionary of cultured/smart-ass gaming words

I still don't get what "ironman" means in the context of video games. I think it's a certain type of playthrough of a certain genre of games?
In the terms of Oldschool Runescape; Ironman mode is playing the game alone. You cannot trade other plays, use the grand exchange, kill monsters with other players, loot other players drops, kill other players for their loot, etc. You must get every item the way it orginally comes into the game.

I guess this could relate to any MMO that you rely on other players for resources. Basically ironman is just playing a multiplayer game completely solo.

"A lived-in world" is the new "living, breathing world".

I swear YouTubers have their own lingo. Like the expression "for all intents and purposes" used in every other "analysis" video. What the hell does it even mean.

"Artificial difficulty".

I hate this term. Most of times it just means "I don't want to be challenged, please, take this part out of the game". And even in the few cases that it could make some sense, the term seems wrong. There isn't anything "natural" in a game. Only fun and not fun difficulty and this depends on the player also.

"Exclusives"
In streaming platforms they call it "Originals", which honestly not only makes more sense but also sounds less gatekeepy

Another fighting game gem is "footsies" and I'm not talking about the kind in those naughty videos I enjoy watching.

"Open world gameplay"

"Play the way you want"(when in fact it doesn't really matter at all, it's all just linear trash, with the marketing wank illusion of non-linear play styles)
