Think this was posted yesterday. I remember tasting PC gamer tears.

whoops, no it isn't. Good find. HAHAHAHAHA bone.

Why would this cause PC gamer tears? At launch, xfire 7970s, I had more fps and better graphics.

Dunno why you felt the need to bring something like this up console peasant.

That's a more dramatic difference in framerate than the early reports had guessed. This is why it's important to get actual data, not just opinions from folks who think the frame rate "60fps" or "45fps" or 30fps". Those people are just guessing.

The PS4 is very significantly outperforming the Xbone in this game as well as several others (BF4, CoD). This bodes well for Sony first party exclusives to deliver some excellent games that take advantage of that extra horsepower.

The minimum framerate on the PS4 is pretty good, the dips are more of a bother than anything else but it manages to stay above 30 even on the lowest. Average is nice too.

Having played the ps4 version for nearly 7 hours this weekend, I never once thought this game was dipping that far below 60FPS. It is a stellar piece of work and will be a permanent part of my collection.

In all seriousness, while this is pretty interesting, I don't think stuff like this will ultimately matter over the course of this gen.

20+ page thread incoming?

It probably isn't that big of a deal between the versions but this is not going to help Xbone. Paying more and getting less doesn't sit well with people.

looking forward to reading alot about how the "silky smooth" locked 30 is alot better than a "stuttery" avg framerate of 50

100 page thread aside, I don't understand why CD didn't just 30 fps lock the PS4 version and or give it a little bit of extra luster. Stable performance is better than variable performance, even if the 60 would be more desirable were it stable.

Would love to see the numbers with XB1 unlocked. Instead, we only know it wasn't close enough to the PS4 version to justify being unlocked, and we've got a 24 FPS vs 33 FPS min absolute comparison (37.5% improvement PS4 vs XB1).

This is gonna be an outstaaaaaanding thread, I can feel it. Holy wow, the differencies between PS4 and One in this case.

This is certainly a combination of lower specs + hard architecture to work with, right?

Honestly, I'd rather it be locked at 30. I notice massive fluctuations like the PS4 has way more than i notice a lower, but consistent, framerate.

Except it's not locked.

You'll notice a framerate going below 30 fps way more than something fluctuating between 40-60 fps imo.

Both seems to be inconsistent, except one has a very better framerate than the other.

It was due to the console exclusivity for the tweaked version IIRC. I'm platform agnostic, btw, and have TR on PC.

Would COD benefit from locked 30? As with most "60 fps games" it's never a constant 60.

Why lock the framerate on the Xbox? That seems odd.

Because it would judder worse. When you allow the XBO video processing to have exact slices of time to render each frame, it does so more consistently. I know on Saints Row IV PC I'll go from 40fps to 20fps all the time, but then enabling a frame limter to 30fps causes it to be able to ride that 30fps more consistently without those drops into the 20's as often.

Should have just locked PS4 at 30. Why do I want the frame rate all over like that? I don't

At least give us the option to unlock it or lock it

those dips seem rare if its averaging 29.84fps for gameplay with something that can't go over 30.

Someone needs to add DF's horizontal FPS overlay to this.
