I realize there is another one going on but this is for a live action director.

Here we go:

Alien (1979)
Blade Runner (1982)
Legend (1985)
Thelma & Louise (1991)
Gladiator (2000)
Black Hawk Down (2001)
Matchstick Men (2003)
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
(This is for the DIRECTOR'S CUT, not the critically panned theatrical cut)

Remember to vote out your least favorite film not your favorite.

Black Hawk Down.

Legend is awesome.

Aww yeah.

Scott directed Legend when he still had the balls to tackle unique and interesting projects. The movie had a very surreal aesthetic to it, an aesthetic which has largely been unmatched by any other fantasy film since (even if they're far and few in between). When was the last time that the people who voted for Legend, actually watched Legend?

Some Legend clips.

Matchstick Men by a mile.

Voting off Thelma and Louise because I quite simply did not like that film.

Matchstick Men seems another obvious one to vote down.

Black Hawk Down was alright, but's also low tier on this list.

Seriously. There was an obvious care and love put into Legend that simply does not exist in so many movies today. Loved it, as it was filled with charm.

Matchstick Men is lightweight but it is good. I would vote for Black Hawk Down, although I think there is a lot of skill in the direction, I just didn't like the film. The final is pretty obvious here though and hopefully this won't end up like the travesty that is the Miyasaki thread.

Really looking forward to American Gangstar btw, maybe he'll do to the crime genre what Gladiator did for swords & sandles.

SMH@ those who voted off Legend, which is such a bad ass film.

I'll vote to kick Thelma & Louise(very very overrated movie).

i haven't seen blade runner and i've only seen the tc cut of koh but thelma and louise needs to go. anyone who votes matchstick men has no soul.

I forgot to vote so I'll throw my vote in for Thelma & Louise. Anyway, in a decently tight race Thelma & Louise is GONE.

8. Thelma & Louise (1991)

Alien (1979)
Blade Runner (1982)
Legend (1985)
Gladiator (2000)
Black Hawk Down (2001)
Matchstick Men (2003)
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
(This is for the DIRECTOR'S CUT, not the critically panned theatrical cut)

My vote for round two goes to Matchstick Men.

dude, the tc for koh might not have been as good as the dc but it was good nontheless.

i vote legend

the tc cut wouldn't make it past the halfway point. Including votes for ONLY the DC means it will likely get down the top 3, if not 2.

I give any movie the benefit of the superior cut. For Ridley Scott, that means Alien, Blade Runner, and Kingdom of Heaven. I don't mention Gladiator because I don't think the extended version improved upon the theatrical cut.

But yeah, when doing Director Survivor: James Cameron, I presumed we were considering the Director's Cuts of Aliens and T2.

Legend

and why is it i always forget ridley scott directed thelma and louise, it honestly blows me away every time i hear that :lol
