Dirt 5 Xbox Series X 4K Gameplay

Graphically unimpressive. The Series X is in dire need of a visual stunner, because the more visually unimpressive games they show the more the 12TF marketing loses it's luster.
Unfortunately 3rd party devs will not do that and first party games are not ready yet. So, you have to wait and then decide your purchase

This is FUD and incorrect.

Quality - full 4k and uncapped frame rate

Performance - Dynamic 4k at locked 60 fps

120 FPS - 1440p lower lod and visuals at 120 fps

Press Start was getting ~60fps in both Quality and Performance.

No, this is reality

Dirt 5 on XSX :

- 4k mode : 30~60fps (40fps on average).
- Dynamic mode : 1440p~2160p with pop-in. Framerate close to 60fps but not locked.
- 120fps mode : LOD (level of detail) degraded, much less polygons + somes bugs (elements that disappear) at 1080p but sometimes possibly lower.

This is a joke right?

This game looks worse than Forza Horizon 4 and it isn't even open world.

Ok? I literally showed you a review that contradicts your usual FUD (I'm sure if the PS5 preview came out first, you'd also be posting about it too) but here let me paste the relevant parts;

Quality Mode (4k/uncapped)

Playing in 4K, I started things off in Image
Quality mode which seemed to be pushing 4K at an uncapped frame rate. As far as I can tell, the game was hitting 60FPS most of the time, only dropping below when there were more than a handful of cars on-screen or when something major was happening off-track.

Performance Mode (Dynamic 4k/60fps)

Frame Rate mode was an extremely consistent 60FPS without sacrificing visuals

Why would I care, it's not a game I'll be getting. You're the one peddling it's performance as some kind of console war weapon and ignoring evidence to the contrary.

Here's a bonus for you;

Now, this isn't really surprising as obviously, something had to give in order to hit 120FPS, but with the game being a buttery smooth 4K/60 in other modes, I think most people will end up opting for Visual mode.

But muh narrative

It's a cross gen launch game so it was never going to be a showcase for any machine really. Nice to see 120fps though and I'll have to give that a try, I think my TV can handle that just not at 4k.

if you have a problem go and complain to "arstechnica.com".

all I do is share their analysis.

Still less pop in than we have seen in gt7 demo, game looks okay-ish, I am sure that it will look great on my tv while moving, but I have got a feeling that forza horizon 4 xbsex enhanced will look and run better

So you think it's normal not to have any footage from a console releasing in a month? There's absolutely no cause for concern? Yes games will run on it at launch no doubt. But this coupled with the rumours that developers are finding it harder to develop on than a PS5 isn't great news.
Source on SX being harder to develop for?? PS5 being easier =/= SX being hard.

Would it really matter if PS5 comes out on top? You should be buying the console that has your favourite games. Wars are stupid, just play games.

And yet you didn't quote or chastise any of the well known Sony fans that piled into this thread immediately for their say! Gotcha, buddy.

Simply stating facts. This will in all likely run worse on a GPU with less power, because that's the way these things work.

He didn't say it was hard just harder. Also the source is probably what Digital Foundry has said. From what they have said some developers are struggling with the shift from an SDK to a GDK. While with PlayStation it's practically the same environment as the PS4 so developers are not having any issues there.

Looks fun, I'm interested. Will check it out for sure.

Admittedly though, it doesn't look visually impressive, not even for a current-gen title. Most certainly nothing next gen about it.

I sadly have to agree on this. I really wanna see a "WOW look at this" game.
I would take a graphical impressive Ryse 2 over this lackluster looking crossgen games.

They aren't being derogatory to the XSX, just the game itself.

Also we don't know the full picture on how the specs will play out, just wait.

I don't think this is final code from what is being said.

To be honest I don't buy into those "not final XSX/PS5 HW" "not final XSX/PS5 Firmware" "not final Game build" crap.
Those are just excuses.

This game is simply visually crappy and aims towards pure gameplay at 120fps for those that can actually put it to use. ( meaning having a TV/Monitor that can display it )
XSX way to aim at 60+ FPS will suffer in visuals thats a given, question is going to be - is it gonna be worth to play at 60+fps or not?

I can tell you I wouldn't want to play games at 120fps if they look like something between currentgen (PS4Onex) and last gen ( PS360 era )

In "resolution" mode, the game runs in an apparently uncapped frame rate; this bounces between 30fps and 60fps, which averages out to roughly 40fps. This mode's dynamic resolution maxes out near 2160p and falls as low as an apparent 1440p. (Compared to Xbox One's heavily aliased DiRT 4, the jump in resolution this time around is very appreciated.)

Drop to DiRT 5's middle "frame rate" setting, and you'll see a mild hit to texture pop-in on the ground ahead of you, along with a noticeable hit to shadow pop-in in the near distance. Settings are otherwise mostly left intact, other than a dynamic resolution that scales down lower, while the frame rate gets close to, but doesn't lock to, 60fps.

If the game was showcased as a Ps5 tittle the narrative would be way different, 4k 60 baby!

People saying it looks like trash are aware that this is cross gen tittle? Also is people expecting it to run or look better on ps5? Looking at the comments looks like it.....

Personally, it's a wee bit disappointing that this can't get a lock in performance mode, never mind 4k60.

But it's not a game I would buy anyway unless in a fire sale. Having said that, I did enjoy Dirt 3 at the time...

Yep the same people saying it doesn't look that bad would bedestroying the game for its visual and not being capable of holding a steady 60 fps.

Because being one of the only next gen title running on XSX made it a console war game when it is in fact just a bad looking game, not representative of neither ps5 not XSX.

But people are gonna console warring because there's nothing else to do right now.And the most ardent warriors on both side will just unsheath their swords (being so trivial it could as well be wooden clubs).

The sony warriors that got bitter by the TF narrative will tout this game as representative being the only XSX game we've seen running on the hardware etc...
And the Xbox warriors will defend it saying it doesn't look that bad and that ps5 won't do better since i's supposed to be weaker etc...

And in the realm of reality it's not a good looking title but since it is multiplat, crossgen, and third party it doesn't mean anything.
It will probably run about the same on both consoles and even if it is not honestly who would believe it's pushing any of the next gen consoles?
