so 1440p to 1080p 120hz gaming

i didn't expect more tbh.. As long as they can hit 1080p i am fine with that

It has everything to do with it. You criticise Xbox due to what you say are underwhelming (third party) games while ignoring the fact that those same games are going to be underwhelming on PS5 as well. It's pretty obvious that your post is just there to fuel console wars.

My post is there to highlight the fact that we've seen nothing running on Series X that is impressive, and the fact you chose to immediately jump to childish console wars bullshit speaks volumes.

I want to buy a Series X, I really do... but I need to see good games on it first. Why is this so hard to comprehend for some people?

It looks okay. I'm still pretty interested in this game for t he 4 player split screen and graphical features. A YouTube video makes it difficult to see all the graphics very clearly. Hoping that DF and NX get a chance to see it before launch.

All third party games are cross gen so I'm not sure what it is you're expecting from them. Is that really that difficult to grasp? You expecting next gen visuals from third party games now? Smh. Show me one third party game on PS5 that visually stands out. Show me know third party game on PS5 that impressed to make you wanna buy the console. And since we know there are no first party games coming out for Xbox it makes no sense to complain about it here, this is why your post is nonsensical.

Yowch that sounds not great. The PS5 version is likely to be worse than this. Kinda disappointing for all console owners.

So, I'm supposed to just buy a console on faith? I'm meant to just hand over my cash having seen nothing on it I like? Four hundred quid on a console that has shown me nothing impressive? Nothing next gen? Nothing new?

And are you really saying the XsX cannot run any third party games that would look really good, given all the grunt under the hood? That I'm being crazy to expect any next generation visuals on a next gen console?

Nobody told you that buy the console, but complaining about the fact that cross gen third party games aren't technically impressive is a rather poor pointless. Those same games aren't going to look much better on much more powerful PC because they're designed around current gen consoles, so I see no reason to blame Xbox or its power for this. The only ones to blame are Xbox execs and their poor preparation for the launch, but we already know that they have no games for the launch.

Your answers are so weird. On the one hand you seem to accept that Microsoft are doing a poor job selling this console to the likes of me, but on the other hand your lambasting me for playing console wars when I point out pretty much the same thing?

Surely there is more they could show?

Scorn? The Medium? Hellblade? Bright Memory?

Why am I having to watch dull, cross-gen, poorly made shit like DiRT? I have someone who has given me first refusal on their secondary pre order for XSX, but right now, what reason is there for me to take him up on it?

Then wait until those games come out, you don't have to pick it up right away. MS has a bunch of really talented studios right now (with more on the way) so eventually some quality console exclusive games are going to be on the system and you can pick it up then.

PS5 has a much better jump out of the gate and that is why I am picking it up, but I am also picking up the XSX at launch because I know some good shit is coming.

I agree. I think they were counting on Halo being great and ready for launch. Maybe even Flight Simulator 2020 as well, as that game is visually amazing.

The reason I have a problem with your comment is because you chose to come and complain about Xbox in a thread about cross gen racing game that you know very well isn't pushing visual boundary due to being designed around current gen consoles. Maybe you should find appropriate thread and lay your complaint about Xbox there along with why you don't wanna buy it.

You also complaining about Dirt 5 being shown while the game is releasing in 4 days on current gen and PC. As for the other games you mentioned, all of them except one aren't even releasing this year. As for the one that is releasing this year (Medium) then gameplay for it was already revealed. Maybe you should also complain about other third party games that are releasing early next year like Far Cry 6 that we haven't seen anything of. You cannot be complaining at Microsoft for not showing third party games, it's obviously up to third party to show them.

As I said above, absolutely no reason to bother buying a Series X right now. You don't seem to have much of an issue with them putting out poor game footage to sell their new console, or with the fact they've shown nothing better running on it with a month to release. My complaint is a perfectly valid one for someone contemplating buying an expensive piece of technology like an XsX.

I get that you don't want to criticise Microsoft for their run up to this console launch, but when the sales figures come in and Sony is miles ahead again, please don't moan at people like me.

Again, there are other threads for the complaints you have. Also, blaming Microsoft for poor showing of third party games is baffling and comes across as console war fuelling. Blaming Microsoft for poor first party or lack thereof is perfectly understandable, but holding them accountable for third party games is not.

Bullcrap. If you are going to buy a XBX eventually you might as well buy it now and have it in use for the entire 7 years.
 
I'm not sure this is what the RDX podcast had in mind when they asked for XSX next-gen footage from Aaron Greenberg. But hey.... it's something.

By that flawed logic, the difference between RTX 3080 and 3090 is 6 TF. An XB1X worth of TF difference. "A whole XB1X stronger". 30 vs 36 TF.

What's the real world gaming perf difference between these two cards in percentage terms?

Got to love how people always champion 60FPS games and wish consoles would stop being restricted + offer the options for higher framerates, but then a game comes out with 120FPS support and people deride it for looking "bad". I know those aren't always the same people but I can guarantee there's some overlap between those groups.

Where do people think those higher framerates come from?

Yes Sir we are supposed to. You can check my post history, I was in this exact same boat not too long ago. I posted about getting Series S in the Next Gen thread. I considered a Series S (because Series X is sold out here) and I posted my reasons for wanting to get one. I am very impatient person and I figured I'm going to wait a long time to get a PS5 as they're also all sold out and decided to get the Series S which is only one available here. I'm also sick to shit of my PS4 Pro's noise levels.

And like i do with all gadgets i buy, i want to do my research and see what the Series S is about. Games running, system features etc. etc. but because there is sweet fuck all on this console, like literally just one Dirt 5 demo running at 120HZ on the thing, I decided against it. I'm not buying a console on hopes and dreams. We're less than 1 month away and all i have seen so far is 1 stinking gameplay clip running on Series S on a cross gen game. I would've been happy with seeing some gamepass games running on Series S as i already have a Gamepass subscription but yeah, fuck all on that either.

I'd rather wait it out and stick with my jet engined PS4 Pro until Series X or PS5 is available to buy. In the meantime I'm going to save my pre-order cash for extra accessories when these consoles are more readily available.

I literally pre ordered a Ps5 on the strength of Demon's Souls, after umming and aahing after seeing Ratchet and Godfall .

Had Microsoft bothered to put out something of equal quality, I'd be taking up a pre order offer on that too.

I do think it's bloody arrogant to think people will buy your console without showing them how it plays a wide selection of new games.

Console warrior Gaf is going to drag me over the coals for this, but...

I feel like YouTube bitrate is playing a big role here. Not for some less impressive assets — questionable stuff will look questionable no matter the image quality — but in general, it seems to be swallowing so much detail.

I've never seen YouTube videos of a game look this bad, across all 3 (from different outlets) that I've seen so far. To the point where highly visible macroblocking is present on a DF video.

As to why that is? I really don't know. All the stuff so far, even the video of the Series S version, has looked a lot better
