DmC: Devil May Cry demo out on November 20th/21st [Videos available now!]

I certainly don't have any issues with the console version running at 30fps, because I'm not going to play it.

Sure [?] who is forcing you either. Wait for the PC version if that the platform you prefer and 60 fps.

I was genreally saying for those who are playing on consoles and wants to play it early but were disappointed of the game being 30fps.

Similar complaints were their for Forza Horizon but well it seems a good demo and locked 30 fps did change few opinions.

The Demo should be good though since their are lot of games coming next year esspecially MGS Rising

[Not a fair comparision Forza and DmC but still]

I wonder if it will be the same build a friend of mine played at a convention. He said combat was pretty auto-pilot, no evasion or attack-cancelling required, and he repeatedly glitched the boss and crashed the kiosk demo.

There's a chart in that thread I linked you with prices on separate parts.

You're looking at about $750 - $800.

Thanks. I wouldn't know what components I'd have to get to suit my needs anyway though.

That's more than I expected actually just to run console ports nicely...

Excellent - I'm very eager to give this a try. I hope I enjoy it enough to stick with the original plan of buying the PS3 version day one.

It's looking pretty clean now, and the enemies look plenty aggressive so far. Granted most of the footage we've seen comes from show floor builds.

When was it confirmed that the PC version will be 60fps?

I didn't even know there was a PC version confirmed, but why not? I can't think of any Capcom PC games in a loooong time with framerate caps (DMC4 PC is of course amazing), and it'd have to be one spectacularly bad port for it to be impossible via mods.

Hopefully they just let Capcom design the game, with NT only doing the environments and cutscenes.

I never buy games in their launch window, but after how enjoyable Enslaved turned out to be I might just do so. Seriously don't understand GAFs hate for it.

I quite enjoyed it as a game I spent 15 bucks on. Really liked the world and characters but the actual gameplay was very simplistic even though I started on whatever the hardest difficulty was. Nothing when I played it particularly made me say 'wow, I want these guys to make a Devil May Cry game'. I never played Heavenly Sword though.

The new Dante still looks stupid, but if the game is fun, I'm all for it. This is the type of game that really benefits from a demo - that's what sold me on Bayonetta.

This is a good sign of Capcom showing they have faith in the game and Ninja Theory. Also enough time to fix some stuff for a day one patch between demo release and the actual release date. Smart move, Capcom!

Like Capcom's some bastion of quality.

They used to be, and at the moment they are taking responsibility for their actions and addressing fan complaints. SFxT and their HD fighting game ports are seeing updates as fans voice their problems. Nothing says Capcom cannot turn around their business model as fan support means full-price sales.

Forza running at 30fps.... A Devil May Cry game running at 30fps.... Next thing you know fighting games will run at 30fps. I'm done with console games. After tasting 120fps, 30fps is damn near unplayable. Having precision based games like fighting games, combo driven action games, racing sims, and first person shooters run under 60fps would drive me nuts. That isn't even being a graphics whore, since frame rate definitely puts a HUGE damper on gameplay.

Let's just get.this out the way. I've already played it and yes it is responsive, but it didn't feel like devil may cry and it wasn't fun.

There is is depth to the combat, even Moreso than rising at present, but nothing I did felt rewarding, even multiple helm breaker cancels.

it will be good enough for a large portion of people, maybe enough to make it profitable, but if this the template of future DMC the series is dead to me.

thanks but no thanks.

and framerate is noticeably worse on PS3, especially during cutscenes. It isn't however enslaved level dips.

Will play. I don't care about the DMC series so I won't care about the changes and whatnot. Still, most of what I've seen of this doesn't look great to me, typical Ninja Theory.

already sense people are ready to hate on it no matter what - but from what ive seen the gameplay looks beautiful lets hope it plays that way as well. positive thoughts!

Perhaps if you spent more time with it, you'd have a much better idea how far the combat can go.

Believe it or not it was my most played game of the expo, because everything else had massive queues.

I'd say I invested a good 2 hours in it overall.

All of the "Advanced techniques" shown in the unity streams, least with the basic weapons, aren't really that hard to perform at all.

Like I said, there is room for depth, but it doesn't feel satisfying, has no intrustic reward and gets boring real quickly.

I'm sure you and many others will like it, hell even people like dahbomb might be able to extract some fun out of it.

But it never shrugged of the impression it was a poor imitation of a much better game. It's not bad, it's not amazing either.

The new JoJo fighting game runs at 30fps, lulz.

Really, developers should beg their publishers for a PC version of their games. :P

I was one of those people.

I then played the demo at E3 and realized the gameplay is still as awesome as I remembered.

Weren't Forza 1 & 2 30 fps? I was more disappointed with Hot Pursuit and the new Most Wanted being 30fps after Burnout Paradise were so impressive technically.

No offensive, dude, but your're starting to tread ErikB RE6 territory with this kind of talk. I'm so sick of this, "You don't know how to play it", "You haven't played it long enough to understand it" shit. It's like, nowadays, if a high profile game is horrible or questionable in any way people will try and defend it like it's no one's business. Just give it up, man. This game is going to be disappointing and underwhelming on so many levels.

Weren't you just sucking Platinum's dick in the MGR thread a minute ago?

I'm just saying, you might not be the best candidate to call out fanboys.

Did you even read my entire post? I just gave them shit for their leaderboard/scoring system exploits/bullshit. Christ, I even said Devil May Cry 4 did stuff better than their games. It's true though, Platinum is one of my fav developers and I think out of most devs today they're the ones that have their shit together. That's the truth though.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to completely hate on DmC. It has ONE thing going for it and it's a giant computer/network face boss. That's it. Everything else about the game seems super amateurish. The blue & red enemy shit is like baby's first action game kind of stuff.

EDIT: Also, I'm sick of this, "Both games have their place.", "Let's hope both games do well.", and "Each game has its merits" talk. We need more fire under people's asses. Good old fashion competition between devs makes better games. Just fucking drop this civil attitude nonsense. Platinum needs to think they're on top of the world with their games because they are. Ninja Theory should do the same. There needs to be more fire and passion in this scene.

What is up with people calling each other out on not playing games properly these days?

First RE6, then MGR and now DmC. If someone doesn't like a game then that's the end of that.
