Do you kill insects?

yes..
I'm REALLY disgusted with insects..
if it's outside, i generally try to avoid them, but if it's in my home.... heck all the pain is well deserved..
Doesn't help that I'm allergic to wasps, thus I feel like any insects is born to be an enemy!

No. Most often I pick them up and toss them outside. It's just as quick as squishing them, but without the need for cleanup afterwards.

Only flying bugs like flies or stink bugs in the house. We have a fly swatter that shocks them.

The only other bug I usually see is spiders and I usually try to put them outside.

Depends on the insect. If it's annoying, like a mosquito, or disgusting, like something you'd find crawling on your bathroom wall, then yes. Spiders I let roam around, flies, bees etc. I try to wrap in paper and release them outside.

I usually try to catch them and set them free. (I use the old glass and piece of paper method for wasps and the like.)

Yesterday I went out of my way to "save" a random fly. I carefully caught it in a cup and released it outside.

Once I actually put a bit of sugar next to a dying fly trying to save it, haha. Best part: it actually worked. Or at least I'd like to think that it worked.

I don't even know, I guess I just really dislike randomly killing insects for no reason.

Yes and I impale their tiny heads on tooth picks as a warning to other insects.

Only mosquito's and wasps when they are in my home

outside I swat or flick them away but don't kill them. inside the vacuum cleaner solves the issue 95% of the time. the worst are centipedes and the odd spider. had to deal with this a few years back and it barely fit down the the vacuum pipe.

I kill flies and cockroaches because they carry disease and therefore, their mere presence is a threat.
As much as I hate spiders, I have a catch and release (outside) policy with them.

Only mosquitoes because they actually try to fuck with me. I put wasps outside and just leave spiders be (unless they're super huge in which case I'll also put them outside).

Always. Spiders, ants, cockroaches, beetles etc. There are trillions of them so it is not a big deal.

By your logic killing a human is also not a big deal.

When my girlfriend moved in with me she brought all her plants with her. What she didn't tell me is that the local black ants decided to make condos out of said plants, and decided to hang around the house for a while.

This however turned out to be the greatest thing.

Fire ants. Fucking fire ants. I had a problem with them for the longest time, and no matter what I did they ALWAYS came back. Then one day, I came home to see a war in progress. The fire ants decided they were gonna move in on the plants, and the black ants got full Sparta gear, and royally kicked the fuck outta those fire bastards. There were many deaths on both sides, but the black ants emerged victorious, and saved me a bundle on pesticides.

TL;DR - Black ants are bros, and Fire ants can burn in hell.

When I was really little, I stepped on a butterfly. I watched it struggle for like 10 minutes before it died, and I cried for a couple hours afterward. I felt like shit. Ever since then, I try not to step on insects if I can help it.

That being said, if a mosquito or wasp gets up in my face, shit's going down.

Odd timing, this thread man.

I just killed a couple of flies using a anti-pest spray. Those flies were freakin' zipping about the room frantically for 5 minutes before dropping to the floor. One died fast, the other put up a fight, just trying to fly. I "sprayed" some more hoping it would kill it faster, but he wouldn't die. For 20 minutes he was just buzzing on the ground. Now he is lifeless.

Fucking hell. Never again. Next time I'm just opening the window and letting leave on their own accord.

i kill most of the stuff in the house. Sometimes i feel charitable and just open the window. And i like bees.

But most of the time i just murder everything.

I wouldn't even kill a fly in my house, it's easy to just open a window and guide it out. I do own a lizard and a tarantula, so I have to feed them crickets, locusts cockroaches etc. but I'm not the one doing the killing. I feel bad about killing anything.

No I usually try to get a paper towel and grab them and throw them outside. The only time I kill them is if it is a wasp or it looks like a brown recluse or black widow.

I kill Mosquitoes all the time. Fuck those pests from hell!!
*Shakes fists*

OUCH!! damn Chikunguya is still not out of my system.

I didn't have any issue with insects but one summer...

hoppy joes came into the house. They sting like wasps and they are hyper aggressive and hop everywhere. Found the nest and poured petrol all over it PROBLEM SOLVED.

No joke though, these suckers sting HARD and the swelling and pain can last for a week, I had to genocide them.

Spiders: No
House Centipede: No

Are the 2 on the no kill list. Other things that obviously should not be in the house such as a praying mantis are also catch & release situation.

Outdoors, they leave me alone I do the same.

I hate insects. If they're outside I don't care. If they are in my house I kill them without hesitation. I make an exception for spiders unless they are dangerous.

I usually avoid killing them, I never do it outside and inside my house only if they are bothering me directly or if they are a potential danger (diseases)

I kill beetles with rocks.
**Chunk Chunk Chunk**

But seriously, I try to actively avoid insects. Things that could be dangerous like Bees to my allergic step daughter I tend to kill though.

The only time I will kill one is if it presents a threat (ie wasp in an enclosed space).

Many people on GAF have weird preoccupation with hating on bugs, but in the real world we know they are mostly harmless.

Outside, nah. Unless it's a mosquito.

Inside? I'll take a cool beetle out into the garden, but ants, flies, spiders, millipedes, etc get murdered in cold blood.

I try my best not to, only if it's some kind of (what I think it is) dangerous shit like black widows or something

In my house or in my bedroom most definitely. Outside practically never. I just don't want those fuckers crawling on my while I sleep and it's often too hard to capture them and release them. The worst are any flying bugs that like to kamikaze my face when I'm in bed reading my tablet before sleep and it's the only illuminated thing in the room. Thankfully I rarely get bugs in my place so maybe a couple times a year I have to.
