When I say aunt, I say it the same way I say "aren't".

Think it's a bit strange for people to say ant. I remember some Roald Dahl book making fun of it.

Ant. Was curious, so I looked up pronunciation in all major online dictionaries. All say it is pronounced "ant".

Born and live in Illinois and I say ant. Since some brought it up on the first page, I actually have a tendency to say pecan as pea-khan. Pea-can is probably more normal around here and it's how my parents pronounce it, but I somehow ended up picking up the pea-khan pronunciation.
