Do you still buy regular fit jeans?

My go to pair of jeans are skinny/slim black doctor denims.

I also got a pair of light blue straight slims (is that a thing?) that I wear rolled up with white socks and shoes and a long line T, 90s style.

Please kill me if I ever look like Jeremy Clarkson.

Skinny or Super Skinny mainly...Which varies wildly by brand if they even end up being skinny or just slim fit basically lol...

After wearing them for so long i look back at some pairs of old straight cuts/regular fit from years back and just cringe so hard as they seem massively baggy and weird.

And 511s are fine on a budget but they feel a bit formal and safe. Slim cuts from the higher end brands tend to be a little more extreme in the cut which is a good thing.

I'm pretty happy with my slim legs and girls have commented on my cute butt in the past so I rock skinnies like a motherfucker. 😄

I ditched jeans entirely for Prana pants. Their Stretch Zion fabric is a modern miracle. My favorite is the Wyatt; most /comfy/ pair of pants I have ever owned. They are intended for climbing and hiking so they have incredible 4-way stretch gussets while remaining very durable and water resistant.

I haven't worn jeans in about 7 months but my fits in general are a bit rugged/outdoors. If you only go for streetwear then Prana items probably aren't going to work for you.

Levi's 501's exclusively. Button fly, red tab, medium wash. Wear 'em until they're nothing but threads. I've tried countless jeans of varying brands and cuts over the years but nothing comes close to the original.

This is what I mean by slim fit (pic of me, I'm 5' 7", 175 pounds so I'm overweight)

Relaxed fit just makes you look fatter

Boot cut all the way.

Edit: Apparently people in this thread don't like boot cut? But skinny jeans are cool? Alrighty. I find boot cut to fit much better than standard regular fit at least. Opening up a bit at the bottom means it doesn't get all crinkled around your ankles where it hits the shoe.

I choose the first.

they're both terrible

Where does one buy these. Granted i only buy carpenter and ones from walmart since I need them for construction

The Walmart version of Levi's are trash tier. They make them as cheaply as possible with the worst possible fabric since Walmart is a budget retailer.

But you can find the better Levi's in better department stores, their own stores, and online.

If you have the body, and this is key, you always want fitted and tailored clothing as it always looks the best and most flattering

the problem arises when those who wear fitted clothes have their love handles and gut bulging out

Slim and boot cut, with Diesel and Armani being my main two brands. My Mrs dresses me though so it's easy to 'stay cool'. I mostly hate clothes shopping.

I prefer regular fit because slim fit makes me look curvy like a woman. Shirts, on the other hand, need to have a sharp v-shape or they look like tents

I like slim straights or a classic taper like Levis 501s, add a touch of stretch and it's perfect. Skinny jeans are no bueno because I'm too muscular and they assume you're a beanpole with a board for an ass. Something like Levis 505s are too baggy.

I usually try for slim fit but have large thighs and calves so sometimes I cannot even get my legs in the things. It's kind of a nightmare buying pants that fit properly when I have a pretty average waist in comparison.

regular jeans are "terrible"? They're just jeans. I do think the bleach/faded technique on the first is ugly, but I was going for shape and fit. What's the brilliant shit you wear?
yeah they look terrible to me lol, but do you.

these are my favorite pair of jeans

I've got muscular thighs and a 32 waist. Regular fit is skinny fit for me.

I have to wear comfort/relaxed/loose jeans to have a decent fit for me.

I mean those are fine, I have jeans that look more like that than the second example I gave. But those are just too skinny for me, it looks ridiculous around the ankle. May as well go all the way and wear some capris.

the creases make a difference! Also denim is a much stronger material than whatever capris tend to be made of

You could not be more wrong.

Yeah, because opinions about what looks good are factually wrong or right. You will note I havent told anyone else in this thread that they are wrong or right. I've merely stated that I personally think the styles mentioned look disgusting.

I cant. But I havent thrown it away yet. Fashion seems to be cyclical and in 30 years we'll be back to preppy slim straight or boot cut.

I kind of wonder what the fashion industry is trying to do by telling people skinny jeans, leggings, and the like look good at a time when westerners are getting fatter and fatter.

You don't need the fashion industry to tell you. Form fitting clothes will always look better.

I prefer being able to move.

Pretty much this. Maybe Diamond Gusset is a bit too relaxed although they do have regular fits as well. I wear Bill Khaki's and I love those, an upgrade over the All American Clothing casual pants. I await the negative comments on those. : P

I wear athletic fit Levis which have been a godsend given I have a thin waist but athletic thighs. Finding pants that fit me right that weren't super baggy has been a pain in the past.

This seems like an extreme view with a ton of counter examples. There are a ton of situations where the drape or pleat of the cloth can be very stylish without having to have everything glued to your body.

Best post in the entire thread. People who trash one fit in favour of another should know that fitting is dependent on the type of body you have.

There have been times where I see slim fits being used when it's not even a proper fit. Hence that gut and love handle comment you made.

The Walmart version of anything is almost always going to be trash tier and why would Levi's give decent stuff to a cheap company like Walmart. They can do better with Kohl's, JC Penney, Macy's, etc.

I have a pair of regular straight fit that pretty much fit perfectly but I buy all slim fit now.

I don't mess with skinny jeans though.

I actually can't even get them over my calves so I couldn't even if I wanted too.

You actually can, most skinny jeans are pretty stretchy.

I'm an adult so super skinny fit would look ridiculous on me, just like super baggy would.

I like slim fit Hilfigers with a bit of elastane, super comfy.
