I had an issue similar to this and on a hunch I changed out the hard drive with a bigger one and it fixed the issue. My console would go into safe mode intermittently and I would have to go through the whole rebuilding database song and dance. I changed out the hard drive with a new bigger one and I no longer have the issue. Hard drive might be faulty.I would love to use the suspend and resume feature on my PS4, but it's so intermittent that I can't be bothered with the pot luck nature of it anymore.
Like 60% of the time it just shuts off entirely, which wouldn't even be that much of an issue if it didn't boot in safe mode each time that I switch on after that happens. So not only does it switch itself on and off twice over half the time I try and use Rest Mode, I have to sit and wait for the "rebuilding database" bar to fill.
I just turn it off every time now, it's a shame because that feature would be really useful.
Anyone else have this issue? Any advice?
I've been using rest mode for more than a month with a game and a TV app loaded, and it's worked flawlessly for me so far.
The only hiccup I had going out of rest mode was on Monday, with Driveclub believing my PS+ subscription had expired, which was fixed by restarting the game.
Yeah, it was more likely the consequence of PSN servers being DDoS'ed (I misremembered, by the way, it was on Sunday.)I don't even think that's a rest mode issue.
I have the same issue but it happens far less often. Maybe less than 10% of the time for me.Like 60% of the time it just shuts off entirely, which wouldn't even be that much of an issue if it didn't boot in safe mode each time that I switch on after that happens.
Well me and like 30 other people in this thread. Not for me I've been using it ever since it was released and has worked for me a 100% of the time; if anything i'm so surprised at how good it has worked and you're the only one i've comes across who's had issues with it.
Yeah, I'm definitely not doing that. I'd rather just live without the feature.Rest Mode has worked fine with me since they rolled out the patch and the only thing I can tell you is to reset the system to factory settings while also formatting your hard drive and try the update again. Although I can understand if you wouldn't want to do that if you have a slow internet or have data caps in order to redownload your stuff again.
Maybe you need to adjust some power settings? Been using rest mode almost exclusively since I bought the console and everything works like a charm.
Suspend has worked great for me. It's really helpful in gta5 to avoid those long load times.
For me, I get the pulsing blue light error sometimes when I boot from rest mode. It never happens when booting up from being shut all the way off. And I have the same issue as everyone else with the system "not shutting down properly" at other times.
