Does anyone else have ZERO interest in DLC, regardless of what game its for?

If there is substantial DLC(or patches) planned for a single player game I just wait for them all to release before I start the game(like Witcher 3, FFXV later on, and hopefully ME:A). I only get DLC that adds a decent amount of content or if it is short and cheap. I'll go back to a single player game if it is more than just an hour long side quest that doesn't really do anything to the story and characters. Multiplayer DLC, at least the DLC I care about like map packs, isn't really a thing anymore(looking at Halo, Gears, Rainbow, Overwatch).

For the most part, though my love of dark souls 3 got me the season pass.

Most of the time I pass. Shit always costs like 1/3rd of the full game but only adds another couple hours.

I can't remember the last time I bought DLC. Maybe Fallout 3?

I have too many games I wany to play and honestly most satisfy me enough when I finish them

Somewhat. The only games that really have a good chance at getting me to bite at DLC are multiplayer-centric ones, where I'm constantly playing those games and the DLC is immediately present, so I've bought both season passes of characters for both Street Fighter V and Rainbow Six Siege. But when it comes to single player, I find that I generally only care about the DLC that's available at the time of when I play it and otherwise have 0 interest in DLC afterwards, but more often than not, DLC for single player games are just clumsy. I generally don't want to revisit a game months later just for some extra tidbit, I've moved on.

If it's something gameplay-related for a game I've enjoyed, particularly something as substantial as an extra story/campaign, then I'm not opposed to considering it. Cosmetic DLC is more of a rarity for me, but I don't rule it out if I find something I like (more likely to go for that in fighting games specifically, though).

if it's a game with a story, finish your god damn game before you release it. I'm not buying DLC.

but stuff like Binding of Isaac or Trials, sure I want more levels n stuff

I mean, you're asking if people have zero interest in extra content. That content could be anything, from new levels (more game) to skins (cosmetic nothings.) On top of that, you're asking the question regardless of the game?

I don't know, dude.

This depends on how strong my attachment to a game is. So far I've bought every single Destiny DLC. Also bought a season pass for Black Ops 3 and The Division.

I'd rather the DLC be available on day 1 when I'am already into the game. Sometimes it's tough to go back and pick a game off the shelf once you're knees deep in another game.

For meaty and well priced DLC it's worth it but those are few and far in between. Last of Us dlc and Witcher 3 expansion

Yep. Once I beat a game, I rarely go back for dlc. That's why I liked the RE7 model, though I do prefer it to be out day 1.

In general I'd prefer a sequel to begin production sooner over DLC. The main reason is that usually after I beat a game I feel I have had my fill. Not to mention there are a shit load of exciting games coming out. I'd rather play my next anticipated game than an extension of the game I just put 70 hours into, ya know.

That's not to say I don't like DLC. Plenty of times I really enjoyed it and it is nice to be able to play more of a game you love.

*raises hand* Me, me, me. I don't even buy games until they hit $20 or less, and I'm usually ready for most games to end before they do, so I never buy DLC.

I've only ever spent money on DLC once: The Old Hunters for Bloodborne. It was well worth it. I'm probably in for whatever GG has in store for Horizon, but generally I stay away from DLC.

if it's a game i enjoyed a lot, i'm all down for DLC as long as it is big. best example is Mario Kart 8's DLC which is $12 and makes the game 1.5 times bigger. i trend to play games a lot after i beat them so the extra content really adds to the experience.

if it's a game i didn't really enjoy much, i don't care about the DLC.

I've bought dlc very few times but when I have the experience was as good if not better than the main game. ie Witcher 3 blood and wine. gta 4 ballad of gay tony / lost and damned, forza horizon 2 storm island, fallout 3 dlc, etc. Though things like skins, weapons, etc are things I stay away from completely.

Yeah, I'm not super interested in DLC. If it's not apart of the main game, then I don't feel there's much point to it.

I rarely, rarely buy DLC. I can't really remember the last DLC I bought.

I do like expansion packs though, like The Witcher 3 stuff, XCOM Enemy Within, the Civilization expansions etc.

The $5-15 throwaway things or map packs can fuck off though. I'm not sure I have bought anything like that ever.

No, if a game is good and there is more why would I not want it? DLC can be done right and has been in many cases.

I'm not against the practice (spiralling costs and all that). Depends on the game and whether the DLC seems worthwhile.

I say this as someone who has been playing games since the 5200 was out.

I thought this way before The Witcher 3 came long. The expansions to that game are of higher quality than actual new games. I'll buy DLC if its content worth owning that makes the game better.

Yep, same here.

When I'm done with a game, I'm done.
No matter how much I love it.

I've tried buying GOTY editions of games I really like with all of the DLC included, but I still end up not playing the DLC anyway.

i used to have this mindset but playing borderlands dlc with friends got me over the hump

now im not necessarily scared of dlc but i am hesitant

Dark Souls 1 DLC is still my most played and one of the few DLC's that I deem worthy.

Will buy Zelda DLC hoping that it greatly expands on the game's story. (lol who am I kidding)

I'm curious...those who have no interest in DLC with major single player content or new features, do you go back to games when they get free updates with such features?

What if it's a game you were disappointed with the first time around, if people report that they "fixed it," do you go back for that sort of thing in that case?
Nope never. I play a game... finish it and that's it.

On subject to the OP. I also have zero interest in DLC. Never paid for any - I don't have time or the interest to go back to a game after I've played it. The only 2 games where I've broken that rule is skyrim and KOTOR.

I play the original vision of the game as it were and then move on. No time to replay games and no interest in returning for DLC- even if the game was great. If the content wasn't in the main game, I'm not paying extra

I did buy a few bits and bobs at the start of DLC (mainly map backs for CoD plus one Fallout 3 expansion) but I stopped and have never bought anything since. If I ever get a GOTY version of the game (like Borderlands), I still don't play the DLC stuff). The one ecxeption was Fallout 3 where I later got the full version and did all the DLC missions. I am playing through Minerva's Den as part of the Bioshock 2 content in the Collection.

To me the DLC coming a year after I beat the rest of the game is pointless.I looked at the stuff in Fallout 4 but the DLC seemed to double down on the stuff I liked least about the main game. Count me as one of those people who's very much, once I beat the final boss, see the final cinematics and the credits roll, I'm done with a game.

tome, it's often tl;dp (too late, didn't play)

Not a fan of dlc. One of the reasons the witness feels so damn fresh and nice: it was a complete game from the day of release. No crap or downloads. No dlc just a polished work of art.
Dlc even when well made just never slots in seamlessly, it lessens and cheapens the overall impact. There is too much of an obsession with "content" in this industry...

The free DLC for Rainbow Six: Siege over the last year is what has kept me so invested and interested in the game, so no. I'm really interested in DLC right now.

The Witcher 3, too, had some of the best paid I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

That's a shame. Some of the best content in games is found in its DLC. Even with the main game being amazing, some developers manage to outdo themselves again and deliver something even greater.

Unfortunately, that's not most of the time, since most DLC is shit and money-grubbing.

I am in the same boat. If developers are just chucking them out for the sake of appeasing Season pass owners, then i'm out. I'm out in most cases though. Only DLCs i've bought this gen are of Bloodborne (old hunters) and Witcher 3's expansions. Worth every penny

No, if a game is good and there is more why would I not want it? DLC can be done right and has been in many cases.

Exactly this.

There's some fantastic DLC out there that even tops the content you can find in the main game.

Yeah, I'm the same OP and I don't really know why. The only DLC I remember really enjoying was the one from Fallout 3.

Otherwise I have barely been able to get into it. Bloodborne is one of my favourite games ever but to this day I have no completed Old Hunters. Loved RE7, can barely bring myself to play it's DLC. Loved Skyrim to death, have never finish the last DLC.

It's really weird for me because it's not that I'm done with games that I have completed. I have replayed the main game of Bloodborne several times but I still have troubles getting into Old Hunters. Hmm...

I am one who has zero interest in DLC. I don't know the exact reasoning but it just never excited quite the same way the original content does. But now that I think about it it probably has to do with cost. Having already paid $60 for a game, I almost feel cheated or something when I pay $20+ for dlc.

Not 0%, as many have mentioned Witcher 3 DLC were awesome. Looking forward to Uncharted:TLL...but 0% interest in DLCs that are basically skins.

The Evil Within's DLC was amazing,

it was nothing like the main game, it let you know more about the story and you controlled other characters.

if it's going to appear months after the game, then it should be like that, just adding another chaper to the main game, I wouldn't have cared.

Like many have said, it depends on the DLC. I have no interest in cosmetic crap or season passes or multiplayer stuff. Give me good content which is more than a cash in or crappy afterthought though and I'm happy to buy it.

Examples:
Witcher 3 Blood and Wine, Heart of Stone
The Last of Us: Left Behind
Infamous First Light
Borderlands 2 large DLCs
Bloodborne The Old Hunters etc.

These were all well thought out, decent length and quality adding to the main game imo. If Horizon does something similar, I'll be all over it.

I only buy the DLC if it looks like a lot of content AND if I have finished the main game. Seems a bit silly to buy content for games that I haven't finished.

By the time I finish a game I'm so burnt out that I never bother with the DLC. Not in all cases, but it's very rare that I go back to a game for it.

I need to stop buying DLC, basically.

I have ZERO interest in DLC, meaning...

I want

"Zero"
latest

in some sort of DLC in my Nier: Automata

I've been hoping for costume DLC since forever!
