Noted.

You know what I need? Some kind of guide for those micro heavy heroes, because I can't fucking play them at all.

You want someone to make a micro guide? I can't see that helping anyone new to microing all that much. You just need to get used to hitting tab or using your control group keys.

Obviously the order of those items is important as well. If the enemy team is 5 melee carries, go Shiva's first and forget Pipe. I think Refresher on Tide is always awesome. Don't forget that Ravage is mostly good because of its disable and the time it gives for your team to position themselves, not so much because of the damage. So, if you have the Refresher, wait until the stun duration is completely over before you do the second Ravage.

I think Beastmaster is a good hero to ease into the multitasking intensive heroes like Chen, Enchantress and so on. Your creeps are important, but you don't rely on them nearly as much as Chen or Ench do. You should definitely use hotkeys for your creeps. I have my items on 1-6, so I put my control groups on Z, X, C and V. (my skills are on Q, W, E and R)

I have to admit, I'm astounded at everyone standing up for the guy and for the "just deal with it" comments I'm getting.

I agree, I don't know why people are in business of justifying other player's shitty attitudes that ruin the game for everyone else (maybe they act the same?).

Muting/ignoring them/not letting them bother you is not a solution to the problem. It's a team game that requires communication. You are effectively handicapping yourself and your team by doing that.

Moreover, Valve cares about this plague of an issue and are taking steps to rectify it. Since reporting/commending was introduced I noticed (especially in the beginning) a notable change in behavior for the better. Instead of 3-4 people being like that in every game it is more like 1 now.

The apologist's attempts to encourage complacency will certainly not make the gaming environment any better. I really, really don't understand the motivation behind it. They readily recognize that there is no justification for acting like a total asshat but refuse to do anything about it. "It's terrible and has always been that way and will never change so I refuse to do anything about it." Oh, so now it is clear why "it has always been that way." Something seems self-fulfilling here...

It is the solution. It's just not immediate. Eventually when the mm is fully up and running these people will be weeded out and put with themselves. You have to be patient.

Edit: Purge is great. I already like his casting way more than I'MYELLINGANDMYNAMEISTOBI

Why do they pause so often jeez. Quit being lame/cheating/being annoying/get a better bladder.

Your comment on cheating reminded me of a question I had.

When these guys play competitive matches, what's to keep them from having a spectator on Teamspeak feeding them intel? Are spectators not allowed during those matches?

The spectator is delayed by like 2 mins most of the time. I don't know what stops you from pausing for 2 mins and letting it catch up and then seeing where people are though.

I like how the old force staff looked like a pool cue. Whenever it was used I would think of heroes as little billiard balls being knocked around. That analogy doesn't work anymore :(
Kinda looks like it has magnets tied to the head, which is either silly or amazing.

Purge half the time has no clue about the metagame or how specific pros actually play different characters.

Like he was literally surprised in one of the last games I watched when a Leshrac built a bloodstone. The pro teams are split for the most part between those that build carry leshrac and those that don't, as a caster he should know which teams tend to which playstyle. (Navi support usually, AL carry usually, etc) Its ok to not know which teams do it to a CERTAIN extent, but to literally not know that bloodstone is a standard build on leshrac is ridiculous.

Tobi just loves the game so he gets excited. After casting so long he also has gotten a pretty damn good sense of the way the game works (which is why he is getting pretty good at guessing the picks) and he actually has enough to get good co-casters. Tobi casts are fun (Oh god him and puppey with the hon character names was amazing), but educational if you pay attention to the analysis.

Purge casts try to be educational but he shows his inexperience a lot, and it brings his casts down. He'll get better over time, but he just isn't that great now. I'm watching right now and he literally did not see storm spirit respawn at the center of his screen and so just called out oh sand king must have denied it. WAT.

Its ok man, a lot of people don't realize how strong aura stacking teams are.
well they didn't use enigma and ds very well, I mean enigma was killed (more like caught and killed) first in every fight and that SF was so fat.
but yeah, that aura stacking is pretty scary.

Enigma Ulti = VS/BM
DS Vacuum/Wall = SF ulti

With heroes like BM/VS its really easy to catch people.

Tobi gets it right a hell of a lot more than Purge, that's for sure. (Main point is still that purge is boring as fuck.)

Not really, Tobi is constantly getting things wrong and missing stuff. I'd rather listen to Purge than have Tobi screaming all the time, or saying his bunch of 'catchphrases' constantly. Tobi isn't worth watching unless he has a pro on.

Tobi becomes about 50 times better when he has syndereN co-casting. Synd is really good at analyzing the game, he has a good voice and he's charismatic and entertaining.

Sadly none of them quite stack up against SC2's best casters.

Agreed. He needs to tone it down.

Yeah, he's fun to watch when he's streaming, especially when he's playing with his team. I kinda wish own3d kept older archives, as he had a really good Invoker tutorial game that I'd like to watch again.

I definitely agree, it's like the classic sport setup: a play-by-play guy backed up by a colour commentator. They each have their own individual strengths they play to, which strikes me as a recipe for a better broadcast than having two individuals on with roughly the same game knowledge and roughly the same broadcasting style. Tobi follows the emotional pulse of the game, Synd the technical. It's a solid system.

Okay, playing against bots I now can go almost five minutes without being killed. I still can't kill anyone though. It always seems like some random attack comes and takes out 3/4ths of my health and then all of the sudden I'm dead.

I am in the Gaf Noob room if you want to party up and play. I suck as well :)

mumble unless someone doesn't have, then its either typing or ingame

Thank you.

Any one have any opinions on a stat heavy early game Sniper?

Start with a Slipper, Three Branches, a Pot, two sets of tangos. Grab Wrath Band, pick up a wand to condense the branches, then build the following in which ever order you find best {Bracer, Aquila, Treads}, after that, upgrade the Bracer to a Drum, and grab a Ring of Health. While you have nothing to directly give you damage, you will have 36 damage from raw damage and Agility, 48 attack speed from damage and Agility, 5 armor, 15 int, and assuming strength treads, 23 Strength, giving 437 HP.

After that, start building some direct damage, like Crystalis or Manta.

I have to say Tobi's screaming has been kinda getting annoying lately but Purge is indeed quite boring sometimes. How's Luminous again? I can't really watch TPL.

This looks like malpractice if I've ever seen it.
