Good, that's what I usually do. All of those items are on the recommended list except for Force Staff so I didn't want to get called out by someone who actually knows what they're doing for buying them.
Not my fault all the heroes with cosmetics suck.

If you want to stay the support route I'd recommend lion. He's a little bit more complicated than bane but he's not hard at all. Once you're done with lion, check out AA.
I didn't see any vision loss. Wonder if the bloodstone effect screwed up your ult. The only thing that stops jugger's ult is loss of vision or range, and neither of that happened.
.Win 7 games in a row, feeling good. Played with Kagete, never won a game that day even after he left the party. Saddest Dota 2 moment.

This and playing single draft are both good ideas.
I learned just thru playing one or two heroes I'm good at and eventually branching out when i got bored or wanted to learn a new hero. Guides are a big help and so is watching high tier replays.
You seem to like nukers so maybe Lich, Lina, lion, pugna, necrolyte, or Zeus will be up your lane.
There is a copy to clipboard button in the spectate menu when you're watching a replay.
Thanks, the protocol doesn't seem to work in Chrome at all, but Firefox at least recognises it and asks to which .exe it should be associated with and once you do that it works.

Hmm closed beta and right now at this particular time it has 3000 more concurrent players. Only a few thousand player difference in peak. They're pretty crazy/stupid.

Thor doesn't play much but loki's still a beast. Maintaining 60+% win probably puts him in the top 1% of games.

You gotta do better than a Dirt 3 steam key (which is pretty much worthless) man....You can buy into the beta via the dota 2 store for $40...which includes virtual items.

Speaking of which, I have no idea what I'm doing. Would anyone be interested in walking me through a game? I have the gist of what the objective is from playing MNC, but as it pertains to this game, I really don't know.
Invites are worth like $5-$10.
The OP is pretty solid in telling you some heroes to start with. I've never played MNC. All I know is it has the creeps and towers concept like Dota does. Does it have last hitting/denying? If not that's pretty much one of the first things you need to learn how to do.

I still don't understand this. I filled out the questionnaire three weeks ago and Valve sent me an e-mail last weekend telling me that they had added a Dota 2 invite to my account. It's hard to fathom people paying $5-$10 (or $40) for a game that Valve will "deliver" to you free in a couple of weeks.
Regarding the OP recommendations for newbies - I had a hard time with both Tidebringer and Bounty Hunter (but that was on day one of my Dota 2 experience, where I didn't have my timing down as far as LHs and denies). Ursa and Drow Ranger I found very easy to use on the other hand, as someone who has zero MOBA experience.
The botmatch AI is a little...inconsistent? Even the easiest bots have ridiculous reflexes and incredible teamwork when it comes to ganging up in gank squads. As in if you try to gank a bot lagging behind his group by jumping out of stealth, the entire group will turn around instantly and nuke you down. I think the TF2 bots behave a bit more realistically and humanlike.
Anyways, I don't feel nearly confident enough to try a public match yet, at least not until I have a sense of what each hero is capable of.
It took me 3+ months to get approved.
My friend has been waiting for a month now and not a peep from Valve.
Anyways, it has been taking me 4+ attempts to get into a single game... so many people decline when a game pops
EDIT: The bots are so stupid... I only use them to get the hang of a character, usually for less than a single round. I like when they go to do Roshan, then all stop and sit in front of him for several seconds, run away, come back 2 seconds later, and wait some more...
Because some people are still waiting for invites, and even then, why wait weeks when you can pay $10 and get in right now.

Took me 5+ months. Registered on the first day of sign ups and didn't get my invite until Feb of this year
I know this is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I've gotten annoyed at the way all pick works in that invariably anyone that doesn't random spends the entirety of the pre game picking because of their fear of being counterpicked. It makes any pre game coordination impossible. I hope they change it to something more structured like in any of the draft modes where people take turns picking heroes.

I saw the game live at gamescom 2011 and registered for the beta the same day they showed it ^^ I got my invite in December 2011
I can't even be in my own tier anymore. This list sucks.
