With my new understanding, i decided to go refresher/scepter Jugg tonight. That was pretty glorious. Nothing like knowing that you can win almost any fight in the river or jungle, even outnumbered, if you bring dust. Sadly their pudge managed to rack up 50+ stacks of flesh heap with the help of our PA, who was apparently running a catering business in the top lane. He just had too much HP. Oh well, such is dota.

What a coincidence, I did this as well. I found it to be pretty hard to make work, I got it at level 14 or so and didn't have the mana to double ulti. By the later pushes I had a skadi, and double ulti/double healing ward is pretty nuts in the fight. It's a pretty big tradeoff considering you have very little damage output besides ulti and you need a ton of team support or a huge snowball to carry through the build. When it's all said and done I think it's still a joke build, it is pretty fun though.

Well part of the reason that I did refresher/scepter was due to the nature of the game I was in. The first 20 minutes was almost constant warfare in the jungle, without any attempts to push towers by either side. All throughout the game we rarely fought in lane, so the items preformed well. Even managed to pick up a very fast (for me) battle fury which made farming up the other items quick, as well as helped clear creep waves to prevent a lot of bad jumps.

Is it just me or is treant protector actually not a bad pick vs phantom lancer? The Dotabuff stats say no, but it seemed to work well. Locking down all those illusions for 4.5 secs and preventing more from being spawned makes him much easier to deal with in team fights.

Also Treant ult + OD ult = fun. Wish we would have had an earthshaker as well heheh

Treant is boring as shit to play though.

Also Dotabuff stops tracking stats when I go on a four game win streak I see how it is.

Same, had a 4/5 loss streak that dotabuff tracked. Lots of losses in general past week. Then yesterday I win 3 in a row and lose 1 close game at the end. Man all random is so much more fun than all pick.. less assholes, and more winning!

DBR reacts too much to short-term wins losses, I would have wanted them to calculate it on a rolling average of say the last 50 games. That would have made more sense tbh.

Playing Luna is really fun, but sometimes I have trouble getting farm early with her because her range is shit, is it worth trying to skip a couple level of lucent beam early for the glaive so I can farm better? because doing the max lucent beam first build I feel like the ulti still isn't really that useful at level 1. I feel aiming for level 2 ulti at 11 before teamfighting would give me a smoother build, cause that's also right around the time it takes me to farm up boots+bkb.

Does anyone else do this?

I usually go all glaive and the damage one for the early levels until they are maxed then start getting ulty and lucent.

It seemed very likely that they would have to give out refunds, kind of wish I'd jumped in just check out some of the Plus stats.

Played a game in AR today, got Luna (me), Spectre, Huskar, Kunkka and Slark. Huskar and Spectre repick and they get Void and Sniper. We won, but what the hell!

edit: a game later Drow, Meepo, Viper, Void and Gyro. Meepo repicks and gets Luna.

Aw alright, thanks anyway!

Might get plus for a month myself, but I'll wait till Dotabuff is a bit more stable. Also my paypal is still broken..

The cut-off point is around 30 games with a hero, and a high percentage. Your friend only has 16 games as spectre.

Maybe I just missed the conversation but I feel like there's surprising little "everyone plays/talks about troll warlord" going on. I don't know how I feel about that.

I tried him out, seems kinda cool. I'm trying to figure out what my next hero is should be. I'm super new, playing ogre magi and sven... maybe I should try to learn how to jungle next?

Or an agility carry? I bet riki would destroy in my lowbe brackets.

Try playing a Ganker hero like Bounty Hunter or Night Stalker. Get kills, get cash, get fat.

Reading DB's twitter and I'm shaking my head...

They're basically arguing Valve intentionally shut them down and that it's not their fault at all. What really ticks me off is how Dotabuff started accepting payments for DB Plus and shut down soon after.

So some of my friends haven't been on recently so we've been "duo queuing" more.

My god are people awful. I love when invis carries that would rather pretend to be moving wards try and blame you for the loses. Because, you know, apparently Jakiro and Lina with wards and mek but low farm are really the ones dragging the team down.

On the other hand, second game with Lina and I'm starting to dig her. Landing that stun is nigh impossible when you're first starting but the amount of burst damage really helps keep her significant even into late game. Assuming, of course, people actually bother to pierce that Linkens so I can Laguna blade.
