Missed game 2 but everybody was dying in the thread here so I better check that out.
Between those fight losses and the Vanguard on Pudge, they never got their Pipe of Insight up. Think it would have been preferable to take a point booster, get the Headdress and headstart on the recipe immediately, a kill or some farm would have given themselves and their creepwave cover for the pushes in short order. And that PB could form a Heart later should there be need.
The Omniknight seemed to fall off in a major way later on. One Repel and Purification wasn't nearly enough coverage for the pushes, perhaps Mouz would have been better served with an AoE healer like Dazzle or Necrolyte. At any rate, the fights seemed to invariably end with Mouz heroes breaking for it and dying alone.
Scepter is good. Shivas is good. I feel like his ultimate and decay are always relevant, even if the latter loses power later. Generally though, if you pick Undying, it's not to keep you safe early through late-game.

Tried Storm Spirit for the first time today in a Single Draft, had a lot of fun but I really wasn't sure what my role was, so I just tried to harass in lane and be a disabler in teamfights. Any tips for what I should be spending my time doing?

There are some really strange things on that list. I'm surprised 1 Carry/1 Disabler is above 2 Carry/3 Disabler.
I'm curious as to what they consider disablers/pushers/carries etc., especially with the fact that heroes can be played in more than one way. It seems like very, very generalized statistical data.
As far as I know they're using the ingame classifications, which can definitely be hit or miss (or changes entirely with trends).
According to one of the people running Dotabuff, 548k accounts have played 100 public games or more.
Also, there is rumors that there is going to be anther small balance patch in the next week, one of the changes would get rid of Silencer's passive for some unknown active skill. Also, unnamed Jakiro Nerf, a TA Nerf, and some sniper buff. Info seems to come from V1lat.

While a heavy push/teamfight lineup like that certainly has worked time and again in pubs, four melee heroes engenders its own unique peril as this breakdown goes (unsurprisingly).

I don't seem to have crazy damage output, what items should I be building to deal with an entire hero?
Overload is central to bumping up your damage as Storm, so building mana and mana regen one way or another to prolong spell usage is crucial. What items you build vary wildly, one game you may build early Int and get an Orchid, another you may go for general health/mana/mana regen increases with something like a Bloodstone. Sometimes you may need a defensive item like a Linken's Sphere or BKB, but generally speaking, a high and swiftly-replenishing mana pool means your safety.

with just mana boots, you have around 700ish mana at lvl 7, which is around when you start being a global threat. Zip (50-100)->attack(110-130)->remnant(180)->attack(110-130)->pull->attack(110-130)->remnant again.
You'll have the mana pool to pull that off, and that should kill most supports
Trust us, as Storm Spirit you do have a lot of Damage output. Ult to someone, right click, vortex, right click, static remnant, right click.
Kuro is like Dendi+XBOCT a few years ago when he was still in ks.int. they steamrolled like navi too.

And Puppey(now in NaVi) is Kuroky's teammate back when they are still on Ks.Int, which is considered a powerhouse team during that time.

Anyway I played some matches tonight with Jakiro and I like him 10000x more than prepatch. New ice-fissure is so strong. Dual breath still seems like it does nothing but it gives you something to do in between ice-fissures and macropyres. Looks like he's been added to my roster of supports.

Holy Shit that delivered. Dat Gem, Dat Dragon Knight stun, Dat cheap ass Skeleton King! I watched the whole thing and Windrunner didn't land so much as a single shackle.
In most games the fight is for towers and ancients. This one was all about the precious Gem of True Sight.
The highlight for me may have been Drow at 1/4 health stopping in the middle of running for her life from an enemy to call her teammate a "tard" in chat and immediately die.

Couple of things I didnt even notice that were mentioned in the comments. Neither team had a courier, and @ 1:49 drow uses a salve at base before the match even starts.

Those statistics make for an interesting read. So following their theories, the best pub heroes would be versatile disablers or pushers who are a little beefy. Sand King, Leshrac, Necrolyte, Invoker, DS. Not sure where he fits but my very favorite hero is Demon Witch.
Playing with a good Lion is wonderful. He can be everywhere and everything to everyone. <3 Too bad he's ugly as fuck. I wish they'd redesign him again. If he looked like Lina he'd get way more playtime.

Gameplay-wise I was having loads of troubles, as Nyx is a melee char and in LoL I have most gametime with ranged Ashe, but that ofc will take practice.

6 branch Top Lane all day SK into Quelling Blade at 6K gold. Dual boots on two people on the Dire team to make up for the lack of boots on two other Dire teammates. BS Yasha rush. DK the Creep Killer.
