Right click, delete.

From the Steam client? There is no delete option. Just Back, Forward, Reload, Stop etc. The normal right click option on Steam.

I'll take them if you don't want them

Send me an invite. i only have 3 right now, but I give away everything except rares.

Edit: I'm a little disappointed in the Hall of Fame section. I like it, but I wish there were links to a replay of all the players playing the character that got them in the HoF. Right now it's just the one player.

I think its consistent performance for the week, not just one match that earns them that spot.

Apparently I've had an invite in my inbox for three weeks now and I can finally try this out. Are there any good tutorial videos or will I be okay to dive straight in?

There are very few games where this is as unviable as it is in Dota.
Look at the OP, plenty of guides and you should read basically all the general ones, that way you should at least have a vague idea of why people are screaming at you.

Depends on what could be in them. Usually worthless, however.

You get a lot more out of them then the (early) TF2 ones though. There is a chance of getting a battlebonus items ontop the normal item. I opened 2 and I got 1 straight away. Also found a strange tidehunter hat (the octopus) that came with a strange modifier as well. Higher chances of getting more extra's.

no idea what they're saying

Bot games are good for getting the controls down, but you really have to play against people to learn the game. Dota is a game where you constantly learn things. Even people who have played hundreds/thousands of games still learn new things all the time. It is a deep game, but the basics are simpler than one would think. I'm honestly thinking about writing a guide when the game leaves beta for beginners. I found a lot of beginner's guides a bit too difficult to understand since they were written by people who have probably played Dota for years. Even the beginner video in the OP covers a lot of info really quickly and doesn't really tell you how to go about the game. At first I had no idea what the hell I was doing, and now I sometimes am not the least farmed person in the game. Sometimes.

PRO DOTA TIPS FOR BEGINNERS:

1. Don't die. This sounds silly and obvious, but it's better to be super conservative than to risk you dying. I mean it's Dota, you will die, probably a lot as a beginner, but you will be surprised at how many deaths you can avoid if you are cautious. Don't be that 0/10/2 Skeleton King.

2. Look up the terminology online. This game has a lot of slang. SS? B? Crow? Farm? Stack? Furion? Fat? THE HELL ARE THESE WORDS is what you will say. You will learn a lot of lingo after a few games, and you'll be screaming "RAX RAX RAX" before you know it.

3. Don't get fancy, just do what Valve says. Just buy the recommended items when you first start playing. Just go straight down and buy everything on the list. The luxury items are where it gets tricky, but you could maybe ask your team.

4. Set your hotkeys to something comfortable. I recommend putting double tap on space bar to center the camera on you, and b set for courier control. You can also change your item keybinds so you're not scanning your keyboard for the 3 key.

5. Don't start off as a carry. Look on their little card and it tells you their role. If you suck as a carry, your team is basically screwed. But, you can suck as a support character and still be somewhat useful every now and then.

I am not a fan of RTS/tower defense games, but I really enjoy Dota. It is a roller coaster of a game, where you experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It's not for everyone, but if you stick with it, there's fun to be had for sure.

The Windrunner chest will be popular for a long time once it comes out imo.

Windrunner's chest is already popular HEYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hey, I read the "welcome to Dota you suck"-guide beforehand and played only the noob friendly heros and according to my stats I never fed even in the first game. I didn't get many kills and generally played pretty passive but I wasn't so bad :)

Maybe I'm just gifted :P

(Also I'm pretty sure I got matched with equal noobs :P)

I just saw a invite go for 1 tf2 key so i really wouldnt feel bad for just reading a guide, playing a bot match and jumping right into solo queue. Between the influx of invites, the guide, forks tips and a bot match youll probably be ahead of most the ppl you get matched with anyhoo.
