I've never heard of a cosmetic maker earning 'millions'. Some top earners supposedly bring in six figures.
I can understand the 75/25 split on cosmetics, since that is the lion's share of Valve's revenue, but I feel that tournaments and pennants should at least be 50/50, if not 75/25 in the organizer/team's favor.
Valve's Chet Faliszek: We talk a lot about that and of course you can make things in Steam Workshop. People laugh when I say that, but its like, people have earned six-figure incomes by doing that. Weve given millions of dollars to people, so thats a viable way to go about getting into the games industry.
I'm sure if people keep sending in items they can make millions. There must be a few that did.
Of the people I've talked to, even having 2 or 3 sort items in the game, they expect 10,000 or so a month from their items.
10k a month 2/3 items. So if you make a bunch more you can easily make millions sounds like.
