Dota 2 Beta Thread 3: Gunnar Optiks Required [Faster Loading]

Bought some keys, got some cool stuff and an extra egg to boot (no Roshan though!). I luckily avoided any duplicates, but it sucks for those who did get em. Wish there was a way to avoid that but I guess it's supposed to be random.

Duplicates will increase in value, especially when the game launches and people flood in who haven't been invited to beta. A year down the road, limited time event stuff, especially rares and mythicals will be uncommon.

I imagine TA hairpin is going to be desired, as well as Slardar trident.

The actual value of each key goes down the more there are in the market. I barely know anything about economics so it was a new concept to me as well.

edit: Anyone want 3 diretide crates for free? They expire tonight.

People trade items for keys and then sell the keys. Most people would rather buy from Valve than pay a third party, so they have to make them cheaper or they won't sell. The keys come into the market from people buying them to trade for rare items or items that are cheaper in the cost of keys than directly from the store.
 
Does anyone have some blues by any chance? Just got a baby roshan + egg from a chest and want to make a purple greevil. I have a yellow to spare.

Edit: I also need 1 red.
 
I got a yellow essence and a diretide chest that I don't wanna spend money on, let me know if you want to trade. (steam id is same as my username here)

Well I got the Ice Tiny skin from a Diretide drop, so that's pretty good. Have a red egg and an orange one. Trying to see if I can get an unusual or shadow essence before it's over. Have no hopes of getting 3-6 unusuals in the next however many hours.

I do hope the TA hairpin makes it into the store and/or as a regular drop. TA is one of my favorite heroes for regular games, and I'd like to get my hands on it eventually.
 
In my years and years of dota'ing I've only a handful of times ever played Pudge but I don't know why. He's so fun.

Problem is that I'm too intimidated by good players who can dodge hooks really well. Don't think I can deal with the shittalking that happens when you miss hooks. But I just had a game where I was nearly 100% hook rate, including some completely blind ones in the jungle. Feels goodman

Started playing rubick lately, he's such an insanely fun character to play and according to the bars of random nonsense, he's the hero I play the best.

It was a long mission, but it's been done.
I honestly don't know if seraphic will be worth anything at all, or the weird alien courier will be worth it, but I've never owned a courier before so this meant a lot.
 
The worth of couriers (or items for that matter) doesn't really phase me much at all, I've long lost track of the commons I find more aesthetically appealing than the taste of the month. Exhibit A: Lederhosen Ursa.

I just hope Seraphic doesn't look like a step down from a solid-colour variant. If it's a garish rainbow barfcycle, I may be looking to trade for something else.

I really agree with you that some commons just look better aesthetically.

I've never imagined it being a tri-color or rainbow, but at least it will have the most
full-fledged features out of all of them... just a little more to find out!!
 
Did you guys know you can use 7-8 couriers and block off the path from roshlings to the bot/top lanes? It creates a huge barricade of roshlings by the end. It's essentially denying candy in the side lanes to the other team (and its fucking hilarious to release them all at once near the end of the game)
