Honestly the more I think about it the more I dislike newer players starting with veno.
(not a comment directed at you, just the fact you mentioned it made me remember it)
Why's that? His slow is a little harder to hit and all you really have to do in teamfights is get your ult off. You get to learn pushing and defending pretty well with your wards. I think he's pretty good for new people.

Really good times with SteveWinwood and Forkball tonight. Playing with them and against real people was a completely different experience. I was on the verge of quitting before, but that was too much fun. I was starting to get the hang of the controls, too. Lich is a lot of fun to play. I'm gonna try Venomancer next. I like being a support hero.

If you like support I'd consider checking out Shadow Shaman and Tidehinter as well. Shadow Shaman is my favorite hero in the game, and Tidehunter slots into basically any lineup imaginable.

Necro is my second most played hero (even before his buffs) and you should always go Arcane -> Mek -> Bloodstone (disassembling the Arcane Boots for the Energy Booster). Don't waste money on wards and courier.

People think he is support because of mek and heals. Those are actually the tools by which he carries. Probably the same idiots that think Int = gotta be support.

I'll try out that build some time, I usually go power threads, mek, agh scepter. Agh scepter on him and his ult 1 hits people that are 49.99% health. So good. I really like bloodstone though, 1 of my fav items in the game I think. So maybe I'll do the arcane/mek/bloodstone and then go for aghs build next time.

Aghs is only worth it versus str heavy teams IMO, like If they have a huge CK or Centaur, sure, go for it. I tend to prefer going Bloodstone -> Shivas or even Radiance, if you're doing really well

Shadowblade Bounty Hunter is just so stupid in these lower tier games, critting people for 600 15 minutes in.

So I assume you get minimal points in invis (just one if possible) and rush it after treads and starting items?

I see most pro players only put in 1 point in invis anyway. And yea that's my guess after those items. I haven't tried it yet myself, just max crit and get it asap. If the enemy doesn't spam sentries/dust or buys a gem.. and if they walk alone a lot..

Well, its not so much about the skills being hit (though, that doesn't help). I just feel like theres a lot more a veno has to be doing compared to other supports. This is mostly about the toxin wards, like, you need to know when and where to push, when and where to tralf, when to get some farm in at the jungle, how to constantly keep wards up around the areas you're in for vision, etc.
Oh, and its a minor point but early on his mana pool is pretty bad compared to other supports, so conserving your mana is more difficult than for other supports ~6 (that ulti costs so much!)
edit: Take dazzler for example. All you really need to do on that guy is spin a wheel of your teammates and follow whichever one the pointer lands on for the rest of the game.

Oh fuck that pic made me laugh.

Damn, just got a game with our Shadow Shaman using his wards to farm the jungle and never helped during teamfights. He didn't get hex until lvl 15 either.

I dc/ed from a game last time i played (3days ago) and when I tried to connect it kept saying "you must be in a lobby to join" so i gave up after like 10 tries. Well here I sit 3 days later and it thinks I'm in that game still and I cant play

edit: ooo works now

kinda new to dota trading,
please take advantage of me!

Sometimes, but you'll need a lot of chests. I'm not really sure of the conversion rate.

It's exactly the same as before... :p
You steal 2 intelligence from anyone dying in an area around you.

Or actually, if you get the last hit you steal the intelligence even if they're outside of the 900 aoe.

Sadly, you don't get it if you are already dead. Not sure if thats a bug or not though.

Well I just played my first match alone. I didn't know that there was a game type where you can only pick out of a few heroes, so I accidentally joined one of those. I ended up using Shadow Demon.

I got a lot of kills using his Q move against their Gyrocopter, and SD's ult had a short cooldown so I liked that too. I had no idea how to build him so I just looked around in the shop and bought things that I thought would help. I bought a Mekansm and it saved my life a few times. Overall we lost our lanes pretty horribly because the other team was much better at working together, but I was happy that I seemed to be of equal skill to my fellow newcomers.

Were you planning on building anything with that Headdress or that Oblivion Staff?

Also, Null Talismans aren't that great on int supports. Normally Int characters have enough raw mana, and need mana regen instead. A Null Talisman works much better on Int Carries and Strength casters, most Int characters need HP so Bracers tend to be the better item from that trifecta.

I tried that in Diretide. I learned I was very bad at Bounty Hunter.

This is a news topic where we discuss the latest developments in the ongoing Dota 2 Beta. So basically not till its out of Beta or the Mods consed to Valve time.

yeah, I get that that's the story. But the game is in beta only in name at this point. Apart from that, i was under the impression that the community forum was where threads that developed, you know, communities would be moved. I've spent the past three months banned and the same people are still posting in the Dota thread.

No, because I don't know what they build into. I picked them up rather early on and I couldn't figure out what to replace them with.

Also, Null Talismans aren't that great on int supports. Normally Int characters have enough raw mana, and need mana regen instead. A Null Talisman works much better on Int Carries and Strength casters, most Int characters need HP so Bracers tend to be the better item from that trifecta.
Ok I'll remember that. I used Bracers when I played Lich and I couldn't figure out why the game would recommend Strength for an Int support. Thanks for clearing that up.

Oh wow, 21-2, other team doesn't even come close to 10 kills (on 1 person) and you still lost. So funny. You're the only one with denies too on both teams.

This game is really frustrating me more and more lately with bad co players. I've had leavers in all my games tonight I think, and they are all trolls/flamers and horrible players at the same time. I que with 2/3 sometimes 4 people. But there's always one.. so fucking annoying. Reported like 5 people in just a few games.

Man I thought I was just having shit luck or something, but its seems like there maybe a spike in leaver as of late. Could be because of the new players.

I really hope there is a place reserved in the deepest pits of hell for leavers...

Lost a match thanks to 3 leaving our team. My friend and I held them for 30 minutes more but then couldn't push anymore :(

The funniest thing to me is kotl with MoM.

In the last game I had, we had a bloodseeker being a douche (what a surprise) the entire time, he kept dying and was like 0-5, and kept raging at me because I died once on mid. After he left their Shadow Fiend just got out of control, but we held our rax for like 15/20 mins. Then they got those and started to fountain camp, SF got a rapier and we killed him.

I (I was Doom) took the rapier and we got their barracks on mid (they still had all their towers before this happened) but then I died and he got it back :( then they quickly finished before it would happen again haha. Fun game in the end but man.. fucking leavers.

With a mek, he puts out a stupid amount of heals while dealing AOE damage along with the ability to instagib an enemy carry at 50%. He becomes a top priority target because if you don't kill him, you don't kill his team. Certainly not your traditional right-click carry, but he's still a hero that you give tons of farm and has a huge bounty on his head in teamfights.

Also if he gets any kills, he heals and gets a ton of mana for even more heals. Its a nightmare to bring down a Necro while sadist is going.

Doom Bringer asscreed getup look stupid.

Sniper's look make more sense for Tinker if he's in the game. Didn't even know that was Sniper at first, tbh.

The robe on Doom is so stupid because it's just like a piece of tissue.
It looks like he just put it over his normal armor.

Also, what is the preview highlighting? the sword looks like a piece of toy so I'm guessing the emphasis is on clothing, but clothing is faded out too (?).

Sniper design is nice but I wish they'd make sniper less crazy looking and go for a more old, weathered sailor look.

Doom is one of those characters who I think look so amazing ingame that my feeble brain has a tough time imagining cool alt skins.
