I think one of the goals for the polycount contest was to get cool items out for heroes that don't have any.
I see.

My HD4870 runs it at basically maximum settings at 1680x1050 so I would guess your 8800GT should run it at 1920x1200 playable on low/medium.

Only caveat is that you have to run the game in borderless windowed mode because OBS can't capture full screen games yet, but that's not really a problem.

I am getting the same reactions about the wrench here as I did before. Some don't mind it but others hate it. Too late to change anything, it will go like this into the contest.
At least I got 2 submissions.
So I'm very new to DOTA2 and have somehow been placed into a low priority pool and gain no battle points. I left a game yesterday because it was almost an hour long with no end in sight and I had to go to work, but other than that I haven't done anything to deserve this..
Do they punish that easily? From leaving one game for a good reason?
How do I get out of it?
You'll get out of it eventually. Just don't do it again, or you'll be in it for longer the next time.
They do it because there is nothing more annoying than leavers.
Maybe the people in the game reported you tooYeah, I didn't want to, but the game lasted far too long and I had to go to work.. otherwise I would have finished. I'm just surprised that it only took one game for that to happen. Seems a little stern.

Ok, managed to finish just in time a second set for Brewmaster for the Polycount contest.
Would very much like to go back and tune up some items since I ran out of time. There were some discussions in another forum about what would be the best weapon for this set but there was no more time to design stuff, I went with the pipe wrench.

I abandoned a game once due to being AFK, however I didn't get put into low priority. Maybe they take the amount of games you've played into account or something, since I had played about 200 games before that abandon.Yeah, I didn't want to, but the game lasted far too long and I had to go to work.. otherwise I would have finished. I like everything but the wrench. A corkscrew would be better and more in character.

A corkscrew woulnd't work. Items need to be shaped within the boundaries and sizes of hit boxes, thats why the wrench is this big. At least pipe wrenchs this big exist, don't know about a corkscrew.
Noob question alert:
Why is it that when I buy an item like heart of tarrasque, it gives me not that item, but two other items. i'm guessing it has something to do with recipes? but i'm not quite sure.
High level items are made up of lower items combined together. Heart is the reaver, health booster and recipe combined. The reaver and health booster have to be purchased at the secret shop and recipes are all purchased in the base shop.
If you just click to buy the heart, it can only give you the components available at the shop you are at, or the components you currently have enough money for.
So, I just got the Reaver and Vitality booster, does that mean i should have gotten the recipe as well at the base shop for it to become the heart? how does one see what these nice items have as components, in game?
