That's a lie. I've played a crapton of hon and I've never seen this happen.
It's not a lie at all, it happens all the time in HON. During the picking stage people are foul mouthing each other over KDRs and the color of their character (OJ/Brown always get down talked for picking carries/mid heroes). I had played HON for a long time although this was a more recent trend when they made stats so readily available for everyone to see, just mouse over next to their pics.

man, I love this game but some of the players are such horrible little shits. Its always the guy who starts calling his teamates noobs and idiots 10 minutes in that end up sucking the worse.

I am all new to this game but have been playing coop vs bot matches only and it seems the community in those matches is more friendly.
Also I really love this game. Somehow LoL never caught me but man this game is so amazing. Just farming last hits is addicting in of its own.

That has been my experience as well. I guess ore people expect people to not be as good there trying out new stuff. Still think that even in normal games most of the time it's really uncalled for. Everyone started out at some point have some sympathy.

That's not the same as people picking heroes that facilitate good kdr.

Yes, it does happen. I played more games of HoN than I have of DOTA 2 and nearly everyone I played with was a giant statswhore in HoN. People would sit in the well after 10 minutes and wait for the concede because they didn't want to lose KDR. Then they would start spamming wards to boost their wards placed LOL.

Yeah I agree mate. I dont even understand why people do it. Nobody enjoys a game where people are spitting at each other. Also it really does nothing for the cooperation in a team.

Exactly.

Sucks that the GAF chat is not that active, because every time I played with GAFers it was an enjoyable experience. When I played with guys that are better they also were very helpful. (I still consider myself a noob and I have put 56 hours into the game)

I'm at almost 900 and I'm still not super pro. I'm alright/good I suppose, but in the end it always comes down to your team.

but in the end it always comes down to your team.

Which is the brilliance of this game imo.

I would be up for some matches from time to time if you are okay with me beeing a complete newb. :) Just add me on steam ^^ (clydelyng)

at 56 you surely are mate

I just meant that in any other game that would be different. matches in DOTA 2 just take a while so have to put a lot of time in get anywhere. I haven't even played all the heroes yet.

I used to play the dota 1 and have over 200 hours in dota 2, n I still didn't played all the heroes.

Sucks when laning against heroes that you don't know what their abilities are. Recent example; Bane...i didn't know he can sleep you and steal ur hp. :/

As a former hon player I can confirm that I did this all the time.

You guys always ignore me!
And sometimes even dodge my smurf because I 'only have 20hrs played'.

I don't ignore anyone! Most of the time no one answers and I just get into a random game. Then after I have finished my game I see someone asked for partners but that was 30 minutes ago, so that is over...

Dumb question, but just realized I never knew...

Does Vlad's aura work with Phantom Lancer and his illusions?

Vlad's aura works on the original Phantom Lancer. Illusions don't benefit from the +damage aura and lifesteal doesn't work on them.

It's still a decent pickup on him given the right scenario, but it's almost always better for your support to pick up Vlads for you.

It doesn't. I do grab Vlads on PL occasionally if the game is looking like I should go jungle for a while. I could grab Tranq instead I suppose, but I like having Treads on PL and I can sell the Vlad's just a short while later when I'm building Diffusal Blade

I've been playing with a friend with 650 wins or so. I have 32.

I love playing with more skilled players because it actually feels like the game is being played properly. At my skill bracket I am still running into people who don't know how to use the shop.

so just started playing DOTA after literally quitting Warcraft 3 when DOTA took off, thus I've never played DOTA ever. I don't know the meta game, I don't know the basics, etc.

I know about basic stuff like last hits, denying and all that stuff you hear about just from osmosis, but that's it pretty much. Anyone know where I can read acomprehensive tutorial?

First: Read the OP

Second: Read Purge's "Welcome to Dota, you suck"

Third: feed

Look at it this way. With 10 hours into the game, you are guaranteed to be a million times better than me and I've put 670 hours into it (something that a few of the non-regular posters here can attest to). So, by this time, you are already 5 million times better than I am.

Good mindset. My friends who I play with who are still pretty new hate playing with me, because every mistake (which is usually a lot) tend to be things that can really fuck up the fights, and then the randoms will go apeshit on them.

Going through this series of guides helped me learn the game when I started and knew even less than you (I didn't know that last hitting was a thing, I had never played a single game of any MOBA).

Obviously they are built for WC3 DOTA, but you should be able to tell what's going on.

I hope they start to trickle in some of the awesome polycount items every patch.

Really learning the values of an extremley early armlet on huskar. 1200 hp and quick jungling is nothing to laugh at 7-8 mins into the game. I always went lifesteal on huskar for jungling/stacking but armlet allows you to gank and jungle even faster due to toggling, plus an early blades of attack does wonders for last hitting.

good games xeenn, tho i even tho we won the game i still dont fucking understand why the fuck a necro would get vlads on a BS, disruptor, clock, luna game.
