Dota 2 Beta Thread 3: Gunnar Optiks Required [Faster Loading]

Meeru is evolving, going for more generic user names.

Have had two crashes tonight after the patch, sadly got my second abandon in a very winnable game with EGM and some pubs. Anyone else with a GTX 460 experience any tech issues since the patch? Crashes or running extra hot? There's one guy on the dev forums with a 465 posting about it with similar experience to me.
 
I have all kinds of graphical glitches, like certain appendenges like Medusa's tail, invoker's hands and Rubick's coat quivering as if they ingested too much caffeine, and some surfaces being too shiny, such as TA's pants and hair and Luna panther's fur.

Would love a big graphical bug sweep but I'm not opposed to the new content either!!
 
I want a broken down Luna model.

My only question there is that if you make a replacement glaive if you have to do extra work to animate it as well, since it's one of the few (only?) attacks that behaves like that (not a melee weapon, not a particle effect.

Nope, if you rig it to a bone, it should be taken care of as the bone is the node that animates, not the mesh.

I would love a luna break down. been wanting to make her items for so long. Have to settle with Mirana for now I guess
 
I was thinking today about what kind of concept would work for a good Luna set. Perhaps something a bit more sci-fi and futuristic, kind of like the Seven Curses set.

I went 2/3 tonight in Least Played. The only loss was when 2 guys played heroes they never play. It's one thing to play heroes you don't play as much as others....it's another entirely to pick someone you never play and don't know the basics of how to build. Dude went NP, blocked his own easy camp at 0:30 and didn't get boots until 16:00 while feeding Nyx and Night Stalker. That shit is just annoying.

How about metallic wings on her back and make her ride a white tiger (black tigerstripes).
A helmet in the style of Gondor (LotR) and having her throw a chakram (Xena style)

Random early if you're going to random. Can fuck up your lanes if you do it last.

It looks like the Nyx Assassin on your team didn't do very well either.
 
In my opinion if you're going to random then you either all do it and say "to hell with the consequences" or you let 1 or 2 and then you pick heroes that support those random choices.
 
I hate games like this because I can't tell if I'm genuinely getting better or if the scenario just sort of played out in my favor. If you watch, it's worth noting that DP, Kunka and I are LAN. (There was some missing calls, and a request to switch lane that happened verbally, so yeah.) I mostly tried to play support as Wisp probably should and I ended up buying a ton of sentries and crap, but I still ended up buying Blood Stone and Heart since it was a long game.

Rewatching bits of my replay, I think my footwork is probably the weakest element of my gameplay. I would have been punished harder by more skilled enemies. Which happens in other games I play pretty frequently. :S

4 que, but 2 of them are new so. So we keep getting really mixed teams. 2/3 People with 200 to even like 450/500 wins. And then 2/3 other people on the team have like 20-100 wins.

Though the 2 new people in my team have played millions of bot games in advance though, so we're better because of that maybe.
 
Anyone know why steam says I'm online? I can access steam on my mobile, but on my desktop it says I don't have a connection(I definitely do)

Annoying. Need my DOTA fix. ;(
 
Hey Gaf.
After the Dota2 Polycount contest with Brewmaster I was thinking of doing a set for another character that might not be receiving enough love.

Centaur Warrunner just became available for the workshop so that would be a nice pick.
Ideas to pick up a certain character would be most welcome.

I think Puck was broken down for cosmetics, but has not been added to the workshop yet. Puck wings would be amazing.

For heroes that actually are there, definitely Mirana!
 
You know, I would not mind seeing the way stuns work in this game changed somewhat. Maybe just a fraction of a second of stun immunity after one wears off, to make chain-stunning not quite as powerful.
