There is nothing more frustrating than laning against axe as a melee carry. The amount of control axe has in a lane over another melee opponent is borderline broken.

A wise man once said, "The trench exists in all brackets." This match proves that man correct. I'm in Platinum bracket, Batang is Diamond, and we queued together. The mode was Random Draft, we were the last two picks. Now you can tell it's quite obvious Ogre Magi and Riki are a stack. Ogre gets randomed Ogre, and is asking for someone else to play it. No one else wants to. Then he says someone has to get him a mid because we will lose if he doesn't go mid. So now we're filling out the rest of the picks. I'm thinking we can do Ogre and Riki in a lane, with SD and PA in the other, so I'll pick Viper and go mid, ruin Pudge's day and gank well.
Well, as anyone knows, it's kind of damn near impossible to win against a competent mid if you HAVE NO COURIER! I didn't die til about 7 minutes in. I had my Bottle and Boots sitting in stash, with the boots in stash for at least two minutes before I died. Know how I died? Pudge managed to get a hook, and rot chased me down to kill me. I would have walked out of that alive with boots and been able to Bottle up and be okay. But no, don't bother buying a courier or anything. Then Ogre spends the rest of the game yelling at Shadow Demon and I. He yells at me blaming me for the whole game because I lost mid against Pudge (you know, who actually had a courier to bring them stuff). Know who bought the courier and upgraded it? I did. I bought it after my first death, because I had had enough of that bullshit. I also upgraded it later.
So this was truly at the bottom of the trench, I reported Ogre Magi and Riki, hoping to see that wonderful message in a few days.

I think AC sucks
Why?
If no one get courier, you just get one yourself and move on. Many players dont like to buy courier because it feels like a service to their team.

When playing Meepo, I recommend, going straight for Tranqs (later into BoT or PT), Blink Dagger, Aghs, and then just stack your inventory with reavers (or any + strength items for that matter)

lol didnt you try to push the idea that AC is somehow an overly expensive support item instead of a teamfight, pushing and dps item for carries?
doubling your ehp against physical attacks + 55IAS + -armor aura sounds pretty bad on a carry
Against a team with Sven, it does kinda suck. I hate going - armor items against Sven.
Your brackets don't matter, just cause you see what you're special number/word is doesn't mean you won't get matched with idiots who for some reason are in the same bracket as you.
Well that's my opinion yes. If I was a carry going for right click DPS I would certainly go mjöll instead. It's stats aren't bad, but it's friggin expensive, and with the aura (which I don't deny is good for pushing and teamfights) better suited for a support. But for supports it's simply too expensive, so in the end, the carry still has to get it, but I would rather have something else in my inventory in it's place.
I've been watching Notails meepo a lot so I went what he did for the most part. Lycan had vlads so I didn't make that. Did the boots thing. I need to practice the blink poof thing though. Can't seem to get that down.
That's what I did after I died at about 7 minutes. I didn't realize it at the beginning until after I bought my stuff and went to lane.
What if you need the attack speed but not another orb? Maybe you need a satanic for the really late game. The only other good attack speed item for non-agi heroes is shadow blade, which is much worse than AC late game. AC is an amazing item imo.
Mjollnir doesnt help your teams dps, it doesnt tank, it doesnt push towers, and its doesnt help your team stay alive longer.
Anyone know how to make your character stop trying to attack without orders? Sometimes I'll order my unit to run away and he'll keep twitching back towards the attacker and I have to fight for control. It's very frustrating. Anyone know the reason? Autoattack is off.

If I play a carry I simply want to maximize my potential.
Here is a comparison of AC vs Butterfly on Tiny:
Per cost ratio, Butterfly is streets ahead on AC. When I'm tiny -armor isn't that useful anyway since a lot of tiny's damage is splash. So my point is still that if I want to go hard carry, I would rather have AC on a support, but instead the carry often has to get that item because no one else can afford it.
AC on Sven, DK is wasted in the same way, since they deal splash damage and have high armor themselves. They wouldn't need it, but more often than not, no one else can afford it.
Also let's not forget that the -armor and 20AS is also probably not useful for 2/3 out of 5 people on your team. The only thing benefitting hard supports are the 5 armor. Not that much really.
Also Vlad's gives +5 armor to the whole team as well, gives you a damage bonus and lifesteal and is actually achievable to get by supports. The worst thing about it? It doesn't stack with AC.<-

Yes, I'd tell the support to get Vlads and get Butterfly on my Tiny. I can live without the -5 armor on their carry.
Also if I really want even more attack speed and greater pushing power, why not get a Necro 3 in your team? Great underused item and gives 9%AS aura to the team, Last Will is 600pure damage to anyone that isn't careful, manadrain is pretty strong. And it costs the same as AC, but it's online far earlier and then you can upgrade it as the game goes on.
You suggest dumb lane combinations to the other players.
You bottle rush on Viper.
You have tons of extra gold don't even think to check if somebody needs to buy courier.
You level nethertoxin first.
You realize you have no courier and no way to get regen yet get no levels in corrosive skin when in fact that is the only thing that could have possibly saved you.
You get to level 6 against a pudge and think that somehow boots are going to save you after a successful hook/dismember combo when he has the same movespeed as you and also had boots.
There is no POSSIBLE way you did anything wrong.

hope this is true. Dota loading times is atrocious, specially after booting it up for the first time. Hopefully they can fix the attack projectiles/certain spells not rendering properly when playing with over 100 latency too ;(

I love ac on strength hero
It provides the stats you don't get through strength items, plus the armor is beneficial to team mates.
Keep in mind evasion doesn't work while hexed and can be countered by mkb. Armor is always in effect, though it can be reduced (which would happen regardless if you had ac or not).

I'm going to disagree with this one. The justification for taking Nethertoxin first is that it's a huge help for last hitting. You're only without Poison Attack for one level, which in a solo lane is not that long and getting those last hits and denies being that much easier is more than worth it.
I guess I underestimate Corrosive Skin though. I never really felt like it did much for me, and just seemed like an afterthought.
