So with all the Bloodstone hate in here, what do you guys think of building one on Death Prophet? I've done it my last few DP games and it worked out well.
It's good on SS, DP and Leshrac for sure and of course Timbersaw. You just have to make it early like in the 20-25 mark or less as stated. After that it's not as good but if you are like one piece from making it then might as well complete. Just won a game with Bloodstone on DP... that respawn time reduction is REAL nice too.

Holy shit

Ancient Apparition's ult is THE MOST FUN THING EVER

Have you played with Clockwork? He has my personal most favorite ulty. I once got a quad kill by shooting it from max range and killing two people with the flying chain kick and then due to the low cooldown from Agh's I got a third kill with the ulty and then geared and beat the last guy down. So satisfying.

I tried bloodstone dp for a while, but again I think it's really risky and sucks. Atos is awesome on her as well, disable is all she lacks and her ultimate paired with atos is devastating. Atos + silence and you drop most things early game, add in a ghost scepter (atos + ghost scepter costs less than bloodstone btw) if you have farmed carries to worry about and need to avoid damage. From here you can go into whatever other items you want. Heart, shiva, sheep, euls, etc.

Bloodstone is amazing, fuck the haters. I will only agree that getting it after 20-25 min makes it not really worth it. If you're playing a mid hero like DP, Storm, or Lesh and you cant get your Bloodstone pre-20, you probably have more pressing issues.

But, to answer your question. Rod of Atos, Euls, Linkens, stuff like that. Survivability and mobility.

If you're playing mid and need to help other lanes but a few ganks are blown you can easily come in under 6k farm ( boots + bottle + bloodstone ) by 20 mins.

Bloodstone is always a gamble is my point, and it bets on you continuing to kill efficiently with no real help from an item.

Atos best item in the game. soon you will buy that even on agi carries.
btw bkb is great for support lesh.

I've never made Atos on a hero before, but I think I will next time I play Death Prophet. I feel like im a bit squishy with DP and have been building a Vanguard on her for the HP and regen. Rod of Atos should be a much better option.

I've also never built Atos on anyone. Always seemed like the was something leaps and bounds better I could build for not much more gold.

Could atos be something to consider on heroes like Venomancer and Viper. An extra targetted slow, some additional mana, and some hp couldn't hurt. Or would it just be overkill?

While the stats make sense on veno I would hesitate to spend the money on a slow when he already has one of the best. Although gales CD is pretty long, could be good.

When it comes to viper, I don't think you can buy a not-damage item and have it not be ags. Ags is too good on viper.

beaten by milk.

Clockwerk's ult would be much more fun (and broken) if it didn't collide with creeps. As it is its too easy to get screwed up at the last second for me to really super duper have fun with it.

All this talk about the Rod of Atos makes it seem like it's DOTA's best kept secret...I for one definitely will be looking to build it next time I play an into hero or support.

Still prefer Force Staff on silencer because I play him mainly as a support/backup carry role.

What's the main advantage of going blink dagger rather than force staff?
FS gives stats, can be used on enemies/allies and you can build into it.

Just seems like the better item overall.

Blink Dagger is more accurate. For initiators like SK, Enigma and ES, you need to know exactly where you're ending up. I think it also disjoints things Force Staff doesn't.

wait that's not shadowblade

like haly said, blink dagger is about precision. Are you going to sk ulti in the fog then waste a few seconds getting in position to force staff into 1 hero and hitting him with 1/4 of your ulti? na you want to instantly on demand explode on that team and follow dat shit up with a stun

Yeah, Force Staff is still not bad for sure and is an option for support silencer. I don't like the idea of Silencer walking around carrying two staves though he'd look stupid.

Considering the stats on the current incarnation of Force Staff, 10 INT + some negligible regen is a good trade off for accuracy.

Blink dagger has a much longer range, is instant, and is accurate.

Nah. Being able to move opponents in range, the +10 intelligence/regen ring make it so much easier to build and use.

Although it is double the range, you compensate for the difference with smarter play.

That doesn't change the main advantages of blink dagger over force, which is what he asked.
Advantages of force staff over blink are the easier build up, ability to use on allies and enemies, and ability to use in combat.

Also I would never buy a force staff on Meepo / SK / Enigma / Earthshaker / etc. Blink is far superior for those heroes.

Has nothing to do with "smarter play".

No, this is just stupid. If players were computers and had 100% accuracy in their movement, yes, Force Staff might be a replacement for Blink Dagger.
