Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

No confidence at all in the game. Everything I've seen (which hasn't been much, thankfully) has been terrible. The Dragon Age expansion was terrible. Dragon Age 2 was terrible. Mass Effect turned terrible. Everything BioWare has started since EA bought them has been progressively worse. Is Inquisition going to break the trend? Yeah, doubt it.

Dragon Age 2 wasn't bad (worse than Origins, but that's ok), and Mass Effect 3 is the best in the trilogy. I don't know what you're talking about.

Inquisition is shaping up to be the best Dragon Age, IMO.

I feel the game is going to be good, I just hope for the love of god the coop is balanced. Can 1-2 of my friends start a game and enjoy themselves while joking and laughing in a private chat, or will we be forced to play 4 players because the game does not scale when only playing with 2 or 3 people?

It has become massively frustrating as coop games seems to be all or nothing. Game after game with 4-8 player coop tend to require a full group or you just feel overwhelmed. (sunset overdrive suffers from this)

The most common fanboy response to this complaint is usually "Just play with a full group/open lobby" which is what we do most of the time, but there are times on a Friday night we want to stay in a private chat, laugh about personal issues and just play together.

I keep coming back to this game and questioning whether I want to buy it on release or not. I might wait for GAF impressions just in case, though everything I've seen so far has looked pretty good.

or

Dragon Age: Inquisition |OT| Return to Sh!t Mountain

I wonder which one it will be.

Hype approaching critical mass...

I'm so hyped for this that I'm actually reading the DA:I associated literature (Asunder, Masked Empire etc) . I never do that! But I've actually been really enjoying it.

Haven't played any of the DA games.

Should I bother with this one?

Getting it after a pricedrop, tho. My currentgen backlog is already huge

Question about DAI, is the multiplayer going support matchmaking or with friends only? I looked at the FAQ on the DA website, but made no mention of possible matchmaking. I am assuming it will be friends only.

Sounds like it has matchmaking a la ME3.

Once you've picked your character, the matchmaking system will aim to create a balanced party for the selected adventure, but should a group double-up on a particular character, you'll be able to experience some fun Easter eggs

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s co-op mode can be played with 3 other friends, or you can use the matchmaking system to be partnered up with other random players.

Has anyone said when EA is allowing reviews to go up? Are embargoes up till release day or are EA expecting good reviews and letting them come out earlier to build hype?

Dude, if you're not going to get it until after a price drop then there's no point asking us now! Wait until reviews are out and you can read some peoples' actual opinions on the game.

Edit: That said, you should start with Dragon Age: Origins now, and just play through the series at your own pace. At least then you will have an informed opinion on the series yourself, and will have played the (pretty awesome) storylines that lead up to DA:I.

If they are intelligent and the game is well polished, setting the review embargo a few days before release would do great for this game, I think it will score between 90-95.

Looking forward to seeing reviews. But until I hear that it's very clearly a course correction for the series, I'm in no way looking forward to the game.

Edit: Damn... The expectations in this thread are so high from some of you. I can't imagine having that kind of faith in Bioware at this point.

Please be good.

I can't wait to try it out myself, EA early access, but hopefully we'll have some more reviews by then.

When's the review embargo over?

Not buying or pre-ordering until I know it's not a shitshow like DA2.

(.... I can't decide until Biogamergirl gives their decree.)
