Token chaotic neutral response. Very in character.Mr. Durden said:Cheap ass bitches like you make me sick. The fact that you're able to play this game at such a low price shows there's no justice in this world. Paying 40$ for 15-20 hours of gameplay is not expenisve at all, most fullpriced games are only at 8-12 hours of gameplay, so shut the fuck up and if you don't wanna pay, be a cheap ass bitch like before, and wait till the price drops.
Yeah, as far as I can tell the 15 hour figure is based on a single post in an old thread with a GAFfer guessing at the length.TheExodu5 said:Yes, that's my question: why do we keep hearing 15-20 hours? There is no such official statement on the length. This is all speculation.
2.5 Will my items, armor, stats, etc transfer over if I import my character from Dragon Age: Origins?
Almost all items are imported with your character. The only exceptions are the Origins promotional items and DLC loot, which were meant for Origins alone.

It just seems a little odd for you to be saying this if you're named after a text that's so anti-corporate.
Yes I have read the book and watched the film... so what? Guess you have as well... so what's changed now?Dance In My Blood said:Have you ever even watched or read Fight Club?

Vamphuntr said:Too bad it seems you can't use all of these new abilities in origins. That was the fun thing with BG 2/ ToB, trying out the new kits.
Basileus777 said:Where did you get this impression from?
Vamphuntr said:Well on the DA:A forum on Bioware's social site one of the mod (or dev?) hinted that every items and new abilities were meant to be in Awakening only. Same like the DLC loot were meant for Origins only. He also clearly stated that once you import you character in Awakening, you can no longer import it back in Origins to play the DLC for origins.
Maybe it was one of the mods that was confused. It happened a lot on the ME forums.

Snuggler said:Wait, Oghren is the returning character? I thought they said it would be a returning favorite, that doesn't seem to add up. Morrigan or Alistar wouldn't make sense, but I was hoping for Shale, Sten or Snuggles the War Dog at least. Thankfully I don't have to keep him around so he'll just stay back at the camp site again. To be fair, I am prejudiced against the foul beasts called Dwarves, never liked them, so I am a little biased.
I'm still on board, though. I'm working on finishing playthrough 2 in time for Awakenings so I can import my badass Elf Mage, he's a total dick but in a charming way. Kind of sucks that there seems to be 2 new elf mages, but it could be cool to roll with 3 elf mages at the same time.
We said "an old favorite" - not "your favorite" or "the favorite". Some folks love him, some don't. That's the same of almost all of the companions in DA. He's really good in Awakening (but I'm an Oghren fan). If you don't like him, leave him by the curb and grab some of the other companions instead.
Ah. No, sorry the Awakenings content (spells, items, NPCs, etc) do not transfer to Dragon Age: Origins.
Azrael said:It would be nice if there was an option for players whoto import their save without importing their character, allowing them to play as a new Orlesian Grey Warden while the game world still reflected the choices the player made in Origins, perhaps including a chest in Vigil's Keep that contains the inventory the player acquired in Origins. I don't mind the option of importing a character and hand waving it away being present, but it's not an option I would use myself, and I would still like my choices in Origins to have consequences in Awakenings.made the ultimate sacrifice
Stallion Free said:I thought I read somewhere that you could start a new character that would be a Grey Warden from another land.
As much as I love me some Bioware and Dragon Age, this is fucking terrible. For all of us who have character decked out in DLC gear and no alternatives other than shitty vendor trash gear, there needs to be something that happens at the beginning that gives you some armor/weapons.

It's weird that both dwarve seems to be warrior. If you don't like them and your Warden is a mage then too bad for you :lol .
Vamphuntr said:We also got confirmation from Chris Priestly that you cannot use any new skills, specializations and Items from Awakening in Origins.

Vamphuntr said:Yes but you don't import a save that carry your choices. What he meant is that he wanted to keep his dead character dead and carry his choices in a Orlesian warden game.
It depends on how the mod is setup. Some of the hairstyles are set to override the defaults in the game, while other are additional hairstyles added on. The replacement hair meshes should be easy, just give them the proper name and put them in the right directory. The others will probably require the toolset. For instance, I did a reinstall of Origins and force loaded up a modded save without the mods and my character had a large transparent area where the hair should have been. All I had to do to get the hair back was pull the hair mesh file from the mod and add it back to my character's face morph with the toolset. I am guessing the same will apply to the expansion. Same would go for eyes, skin, ect.Acosta said:I wonder what happen if I import a modified character to awakening. I have installed a shitload of stuff, including some great hair styles, so I would like to know if they could be translated to the expansion, does anyone have experience with the effects of mods on expansions?
Hi all,
We've been watching your questions here on the forums and have compiled a list of answers to some of the questions we see come up over and over. We hope you enjoy and that this clears up some details for you. We'll keep watching for more community questions that we can provide answers to in future updates.
Why dont my DLC items carry forward?
The rewards in Awakening quickly outpace the best items youd find from Origins and Origins DLC. The root of the issue is that the previously released DLC was not built in such a way that those DLC items import properly into Awakening.
Rather than spending the resources addressing this thorny issue in multiple DLCs, we spent our time adding features and polish that made Awakening better. We believed that since the gear was quickly replaced that this wasnt a major issue. We are currently investigating solutions for a possible patch. Some silver lining to this, the Power of Blood abilities from Wardens Keep do import properly into Awakening.
Should I gear up in standard Origins gear before loading my save game into Awakenings?
Its a good idea to wear your best gear going into Awakenings but we said above, dont expect to be wearing it for too long. The challenges in Awakening are greater, but so are the rewards. There are lot of very nice upgrades to be found in stores, the fresh corpses of fallen foes, and sometimes with the help of a rogues lockpicking skills.
Why dont any of my Origins followers come across except Oghren?
We wanted to tell new stories in Awakening and introduce a new memorable cast of characters. Thedas is a big place full of all sorts of exciting things we want to explore. The companions in Origins are still in the Dragon Age universe and possibly up to things youll see in the future.
Oghren was brought back for a variety of reasons. Most people did Paragon of Her Kind late in their Origins playthrough so even though hes a great character he didnt get much air time. A lot of folks loved him (not the least of which was the Awakening team) so we wanted to reprise his role and give him more time in the limelight. Hes a great addition to Awakening, adding levity at moments to otherwise heavy stories.
Why are there no romances in Awakening?
The story is primarily about the threats to Amaranthine, which if left unchecked could threaten Ferelden and more. The new companions were designed to be tightly integrated into that story. To make them romanceable characters wed have designed them quite differently and wouldve changed several of the plots. We didnt want to just tack on romance options. Short version not all stories need to have a love interest.
What happened to my dog? Is he dead?
No, your dog isnt dead. Your faithful hound is still out there. Hes just not on this adventure. We wanted to introduce new characters in Awakening and although Dog doesnt speak the loveable mutt still needs a lot of cinematic attention to bring to life. So we spent our time on new characters that are more tightly integrated into the story.
How many new mage spells will there be?
There are 2 new specializations and 2 new spell trees for all mages for a total of 16 new spells. We will update the FAQ to correct this information.
Will my choices be reflected at all in Awakening? For example, will Allistair, Logaine or Wynne react to decisions I made in Origins?
The cameos definitely react to your decisions in Origins. Depending on your Origin choices you may not even see them.
