I just don't think they'd start marketing the new arc before the anime gets there. Remember, all the promotional material is tied to the anime. Freeza being there, in 1st form even, obviously is a reference to the RoF arc, and then there's Goten with the wrong design. People are looking too much into a random piece of promotional art.

It's just people having fun speculating because of a seemingly weird piece of art, speculation is fun.

Huh? Goku, Vegeta and Gohan are with their RoF designs there.

We are talking about that.

This is starting to be pathetic. In 4 years Goten will have his adult size.

And he is smaller than kid Goku ever was.

Oh, ok. You were talking about the ending. Still, Goten has shown up in the preview for next week's episode, with the same design from the BoGs arc, even though everyone else now has their new RoF designs.

Goku still has his BoG Gi in the NEP. But anyways, none of the promo material for Super has Goten in his Super Gi for whatever reason.

Loved this episode. This is the direction I hoped they would go in when the series was first announced. Humor was top notch.
Whis is such an amazing character. Great addition to the series.

People are speculating that the team might be Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Gotenks and Piccolo based on this puzzle titled " The Warriors that will protect the Earth" that comes out in December.

I hope this ends up being the team, Piccolo needs a buff.
This is perfect, actually. For some reason I never thought of Gotenks as a possibility. I hope this happens, mainly to see Piccolo out there again.

For right now it seems safe to say that they are sticking with the timeline established with BoG and F, so BoG is 4 years after Buu and F(at least the actual fighting) is 5 years after Buu.
It's worth noting that Bulma said at the end of Z that she hadn't seen Goku in five years. I hope they don't mess with anything and manage to make everything line up with the original ending.

Lol good luck with that

This is probably one of those details that won't happen though. To be honest, I'm actually okay with that since I like the idea of Krillin's family seeing Goku's at times, and Goku's and Bulma's family keeping in contact with Trunks and Goten being friends.

Well F is 5 years before EoZ, and we know right after F Goku and Vegeta go back to Beerus's planet and then eventually at some point after that is the Universe 6 stuff. Though honestly until we see otherwise I'm just going to assume that while EoZ still happens, the actual dialogue and events aren't what are in Z, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point after the Universe 6 arc (maybe right after or maybe after another arc) we see a redone EoZ.

That has to be my favourite episode so far.

Vegeta trying to cook to impress Whis... Priceless.

Also Vegeta trying to crack an egg should replace the gif of Homer setting cereal on fire, so good.

That picture reminds me, Pilaf and his minions were just bullshit. Just give us Trunks and Goten going on adventures like kid Goku (and even Gohan) used to. I want more of them.

At Bulma's party I was under the impression that Vegeta was a master chef, now he can't crack an egg.

Omelette and rice sounds like a pro dish.

Also, maybe when they go to an alternate universe, the time passes by faster there or something ?

I don't know.

I want Trunks to be like the cool Trunks, I want them to reach epilogue of Z where everybody gave up being decent characters, and I want them to fix it.

Because no matter what ends up happening we know where it ends, and it sure ain't pretty.

Toriyama forgot.

No but seriously, when would he have had the time to become a good cook? Makes no sense. Gohan on the other hand, I could see being a great chef. What is his profession again?

I was thinking that too, I guess the egg itself stumped him because he can't control his strength to such a fine degree. Maybe otherwise it would've been fine?

That's more than likely the reason.

At the end of Z I think it's said that he's a professor but a professor of what I don't know.

That's weird. We are led to believe Gohan made it as a succesful....whatever, but never find out what it is he exactly does. All we see him do is read books and that is about it. Does he even have a job?

It's kind of a running gag that we don't know Gohan's profession. The book he reads in the opening is titled "Difficult Book" (or "Book About Difficult Things") in Japanese.

At this point, I believe it's implied he's in college.

Oh God I JUST noticed that the chick's facial expression's matches those of Vegeta. Amazing <3

Really? I think it's nice to see what the world is like outside of the Z warrior bubble. They're bold to leave the safety of the popular characters.

I don't disagree its just that when Satan is anything but humble he's obnoxious and the groupies that fall for that nonsense are idiots.

He's a "Scholar", and episode 15 shows he's not a good cook.

A scholar isn't a profession. What is he a scholar of? Medicine? Law? Economics? Politics? Statistics? A subdivision of one of the major sciences? Some aspect of culture? The vagueness of it all makes it all meaningless. As far as I can tell, Gohan just reads books for the sake of reading books. It's all busy work and not much of an actual character feature.

I read on the DB Wikia that in one of the games, Gohan teached everyone about ki and whatnot by writing books/papers etc. I guess he could do that. But then I read about him going into the woods to train and become a SSJ4, which sounds much better and cooler.

The first part was Dragon Ball Online, it's not canon. SSJ4 ain't gonna show up either and I don't know where the hell that came from.

It's a running gag that we don't get told/shown, sort of like Kakashi's face, though we can pretty much make out all of Kakashi'a facial features and his complexion even though it never gets explicitly shown.

Likewise with Gohan we can tell that he's in STEM or possibly even the social sciences, even though we have no idea what he actually does.

I know, like I said; just read it on DB wikia games. Those options sounded good, would be kinda crappy to have him just read books for the next 85 episodes. At least do something with his career at this point.

Throughout the series, Chi Chi is always talking about wanting Gohan to be a "scholar". But because Chi Chi is a hick like Goku, it was always said generically with no real specifics.

Of course, the out-of-universe answer would be that Toriyama doesn't care, but why should he? Toei is in on the joke as well as the title of the book Gohan was reading in episode 1 of Super was literally "Difficult Book".

I guess Gohan would still be ahead of most everyone else with it seeming like all the other characters seeming like they're only getting jobs recently.

The art felt like old school DBZ, had some grit to it, needs to stay like that

They've gotten really on point with the comedy, Vegeta was hilarious.Vegeta going off by himself for a while explains how he was able to catch up to Goku in RoF.

Next episode gonna be saiyan Jerry Springer with Goku catching Bulma right out the shower and Chi Chi showing up.

Also i want to give a shout out to krillin and 18 having genuine love moments
edit:
Oh shit,
Namekian Book of legends picollo buff?

I always thought it would be easy to make piccolo god level, since he was supposed to be a god beforehand when his father and kami conjoined, and they were alot older and in their prime when they split, so if they can find away to put some bullshit around that, we can have something here. it is kinda weird how piccolo cant sense god ki

Im pretty sure dragon ball online was considered canon, no?

Dragonball Online's backstory was by Toriyama, so some people considered it canon, however he hasn't referenced anything from it in his more recent DB related work yet, throwing doubts regarding its validity. The most obvious example is that the remnants of Freeza's empire were supposed to have some surviving elite corps years into the future, but yet there doesn't seem to be anything like that group in RoF.

Toriyama doesn't really seem like he pays much attention to background setting that wasn't actually used by him in one of his works - the Tuffle/Saiyan backstory, and designs from the Z anime were by Toriyama even though they weren't in the manga. And yet, for the recent Episode of Bardock, Toriyama designed a completely different version of the Tuffles. He clearly kept some details, like them being a smaller race and living in planet Vegeta, but yet changed them from human-like to a completely different race visually.

From what I've heard we actually don't know what exactly he did for Online.

Toriyama also didn't do Episode of Bardock.

From what I've heard we actually don't know what exactly he did for Online.

We don't know what he did in the same sense that we don't know what he actually does for Super. We can't look at the notes/outline that he gave the production crew, but he's credited for creative input and supervision.

Toriyama also didn't do Episode of Bardock.

Toriyama designed the Tuffles and Freeza's ancestor from Episode of Bardock. He's also credited as "supervisor" of the manga (and in this case the manga was the original source and came out before the anime was even announced, unlike Super).
