If Toei actually go through with Gohan training story, then he will definitely be the "strongest" again. Like you said, its the nature of the character. However, when it really counts, they're going to have him get over confident and screw up against the big bad so Goku can swoop in and save the day. Again. Cause god forbid someone besides Goku matter.Yes, I'm still bitter about the Buu saga and Revival of F (Vegeta)
I know people will troll but I wouldn't mind that to be honest. As long as he's actually somewhat relevant to the overall story and actually wins some fights, I'll be happy.
I liked what they did with the Tapion movie. Gohan was more powerful than Goku and Vegeta, but Goku still beat Hildegarn because he fought more cleverly and came up with the right technique on the spot. Meanwhile the reason Vegeta lost was not because he was weak but because he got screwed spending his energy protecting the Earthlings, something Goku didn't have to do.

Shame that technique isn't really a factor anymore. It would add so much depth to the characters. It's annoying that even Vegeta doesn't use his big bang attack anymore. That was one of my favourites, especially when he used it in the Cell saga.
Be a dick to your kid pretty much his whole life, only showing some form of love when about to commit suicide (after fucking up)? Don't know where this 'Vegeta is a good husband/father' thing comes from. He's mediocre at best. Gohan and Krillin are probably the best.
Expecting Goku and Vegeta to be good parents is futile. It is completely against their nature. It's unfair to hold full saiyans to the same expectations as humans in terms of emotion and compassion for others. They will never truly care for others and will do anything to satisfy their quench for battle. Goku and Vegeta have shown this trait time and time again. You can only expect proper emotional development from Gohan, Trunks and Goten.
