Dragon Ball Super |OT2| June 12: Judgment Day

It shouldn't take too long for Gohan to recover his former strength... if he's serious about this training of course. This is the same guy that went from below Android 19 to SSJ2 in less then a year.

The bigger question is where does he go from there? Perhaps add the SSJ/SSJ2 multiplier into the mix? His 'Ultimate Form' is basically just his base form after all. Technically, he should still be able to transform and get stronger... I actually remember reading somewhere that he could if he wanted.

Ultimate Form [Far surpassing SSJ3] X 50 [SSJ multiplier] seems like quite the increase.

And to think, in some alternate universe people are looking up "Ox in the Box goes SSJ2 Vs. Cell" on YouTube and having forum discussions like "Ox in the Box: Fuccboi or Nah?"

I thought she loosened up a bit after Goku died. It basically implied that she was missing Goku and Goten probably reminded her of him.

pretty much...goten's like always screwing around with trunks. how old are these kids? do they not go to school? or are they home schooled? either way no one seems to be watching them lol :P

piccolo should leave gohan to starve in another planet full of powerful creatures

extra points if gohan meets a cool robot friend in that planet

wrong.

ultimate form is just being able to use all his power without going SSJ.

he's stronger than SSJ3 Goku because he can access his SSJ3 power without the strain so he doesn't get tired like Goku.
the Old Kaioshin even said there wouldn't be any difference if he went SSJ at the moment he had the magic powerup active.

they still haven't answered why Gohan is using SSJ again now. it's possible Old Kaioshin's magic was temporal but they never gave an actual reason so everyone is confused atm.

She actually trained him personally, and doesn't even push for him to be a scholar. I never understood why.
Maybe she missed Goku's antics and decided to raise Goten more like him.

In Super she talks about getting an education for Goten too though, so she might just be taking a more balanced approach (let him fight, but make sure he's educated too).

#ToriyamaForgot

Would love an episode of him going back to Supreme Kai's planet awkwardly asking for Elder Kai to give him the Mystic boost again. He'd probably have to bribe Elder Kai with nude pics of Videl though.

That was the only moment in the show with actual emotional impact, truly stand out.
I thought Piccolo dying during the Saiyan saga and saying goodbye to Gohan was pretty sad.

I mean we know now they found out a way to still cheat death but it also raised the stakes a little because it meant the Dragon Balls wouldn't work anymore (even though the Funimation dub spoiled it by having Kami tell Popo right away that there was another set on Namek lol)

I'm a massive Gohan fan, but I definitely itself agree with this. His thing was raw power more than anything. I always saw him as a brawler opposed to being a technical fighter.

Agreed. Gohan always seemed like a brawler. Goku is the technical fighter. I think in the battle with Cell, Goku stated any mistakes made would cost him his life. Goku is constantly reading his opponent's attacks and trying to predict it. Hell, Goku always starts off his battle at a lower power level to get a read on his opponent.

Nah. Gohan never had any cool techniques or intelligent use of the few he had.

Are we talking his actual fighting technique or just the energybased attacks? The latter Gohan did indeed not have anything special of his own, but his fighting technique is just fine. Dude has been training since the age of 3(?), by Piccolo and later Goku. Held his own against them and surpassed them, and not just by raw power and speed.

Both really. He's pretty much the only character with meaningful fights that don't involve any real techniques, misdirection, reading strength etc. He's a brawler that hurls himself at his opponent to overwhelm them.

He gets more flashy when fighting super buu but the principle is still the same.

Yep. He's not in his father's league when it comes that kind of stuff. He wasn't a gifted genius at fighting or never demonstrated it, he just was gifted with immense potential for raw power beyond that of his father.

The Daizenshuu 2 implies that "Ultimate Gohan" could of grown stronger by transforming into a Super Saiyan. The reason that didn't happen is up for speculation, it's most likely because of plot as AT wanted Goku to be the hero. However, it's also possible that it would of been too much power for his body to handle. We saw recently what too much power did to his body and we've seen similar effects with Kaioken.

Funny thing is that Goku is mostly self taught. His Grandpa taught him some fighting techniques (rock paper scissors) and he taught himself after that. Roshi just powered him up, Korin taught him how to not waste movements, and Popo taught him how to harness is ki and read ki? Not to sure about what Popo taught him.

In terms of techniques? Fighting was Goku's best teacher.

I don't think Champa will be a good guy, unless the actual enemy somehow is stronger than him. Champa being weaker than Beerus seems like perfect set up to allow Goku to beat him eventually without reaching Beerus' level yet. Of course, it could also work if he's killed by someone else and then Goku beats that person.

Where is all of this stated though? I've read he absorbed the God Ki. But it doesnt seem his normal state is SSG level when fighting Frieza.

During the battle against Beerus, it was stated that Goku's power didn't change at all after he dropped out of SSJ God - that was comparing SSJ Goku to SSJ God Goku though, not Base Goku to SSJ God Goku.

i was going off the anime but yeah, the new angle of "his body can't handle it" seems like a good way to explain why he didn't go further too. he'd have ended up like Trunks vs Cell.

So why doesn't Devilman defeat enemies like Cell, Buu, Beerus, etc? He can literally 1 shot them

Devilman would be reduced to dust even before he can fire that attack.
