Who is making the new levels?
I will never understand this logic.30 FPS is just a complete hype killer for a platformer especially a 2d platformer. 3d Mario U better be 60 FPS or heads will roll.
Fixed. There's a reason I play videogames.Miyamoto's brilliant gameplay first philosophy

Blowing on flowers did not improve DKC's gameplay
It's Donkey Kong Country Returns sans waggle and with extra levels that may turn out as awesome as the rest of the game, you don't want to miss out on more levels do you?Oh, right, 30 fps platformer...and it's still jaggy as fuck
Nocturnowl, help me get hype for this
Actually I think the Iwata Asks for this game said as such, Miyamoto wanted them to add blowing or tables would be upended.I'm saying I like the philosophy, which is what I quoted, didn't even mention what you're posting about. Can you even prove he is the reason that's in the game?

Thread title fuck-ups won't "earn" you a tag.
There's absolutely no chance that Nintendo would release a Mario game for Wii U running at less than 60 fps.

They released one for the 3DS running at 30 FPS
Damn I read the OP and was excited that Nintendo was finally getting creative!

3DS hardware is extremely weak and Nintendo wasn't familiar with the architecture at the time, compared to the PowerPC architecture that they've been working on for the past 13 years and rarely release games that run at <60 fps on.
Rarely? Most of their 3D games barring the Galaxy games run at 30 FPS. The 2d games usually run at 60FPS though.
No they don't... Metroid Prime 3, Other M, Sin & Punishment 2, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Wii Sports/Play/Fit/Party all run at 60 fps on the Wii. Nintendoland, Pikmin, Wonderful 101 are all 60 fps on the Wii U.
I've been so excited for this since it was announced. Never got around to the Wii version.
I wish I understood why people get so up in arms about frame rate. How did anyone get by on the NES days of gaming? I'm seriously asking.
Maybe it's good that the game being locked at 30 means nothing negative to me whatsoever.
So excited!!

Xenoblade, The Last Story, Skyward Sword, and Twilight Princess all ran at 30 FPS. Pikmin 3 also runs at 30 FPS. Although I guess that isn't close to most, but it certainly isnt rare
To this day I still don't know how the fuck they got Corruption to run at 60FPS on the Wii. Fucking black magic I guess.
Pikmin 3 has been running at 60 fps every single time they've showed it.

Maybe I'll play this now.
Refused to with the Wii motion controls

If that's not doing it for you then i'll bring out the ultimate trump card, the more sales this game gets the more likely we are to get an actual sequel that you so desperately crave, irrefutable logic if I do say so myself.
Actually I have one last ace up my sleeve, here we go, this ones a real corker, you get an excuse to play DKCR AGAIN, you get to return to the return.
Yeah that one really makes no sense. It's a shame Retro has lost so many people since then, but they seem to still be able to make quality games. Just imagine the kind of stuff they would be able to create if none of the original talent had left.
People who have actually demoed it say otherwise, so I assume you're going off that E3 article from last year.
Even with the wii motion controls it was easily one of the best 2D platformers. After NSMBW, NSMB, YIDS, Rayman, and Sonic Rush I thought I just no longer liked 2D platformers because I couldn't get into most of those and while they were okay they weren't that enjoyable. I tried DKC2 on the VC after DKCR was anounced for Wii and absolutely hated it. A friend gave me DKCR and it really renewed my interest in 2D platformers and I haven't had that much fun with a platformer since World.Maybe I'll play this now.

Pikmin 3 is locked at 30 which honestly makes no sense to me considering how it looks but oh well.
Did they capture that footage themselves or was it from a prerecorded video? I remember they also did a test on the Wonderful 101 (then Project P-100) trailer and concluded that it was only 30 fps, even though the game runs at 60.
Pretty sure this is footage from themselves, and other people on gaf who have played it at recent Nintendo events have confirmed its 30. Unless they've changed it in the last few months its running at 30FPS. Who did you read saying it ran at 60?Also do you have a source on where they called W101 running at 30FPS?
