I loved the first one an unhealthy amount, and the only thing that could make the sequel better would be it being on the Switch. Which they announced. So everything is awesome.

Fuck yes. Builders 1 is the definition of a hidden gem.

I think it did well enough in the west that it'll get localized.

And if it does, for the love of god announce it at E3 or some other big gaming event with lots of eyes on it rather than picking a random day of the week to tweet it out to the DQ western account's 15k followers.

I never got past the second world in DQB. Having to redo all of your leveling from start was a huge annoyance, and the second world was just a pain to navigate. If this one is better, there's a good chance I might get it, as I really liked the first world in DQB.

Don't forget that DQ X 3.5 comes out in September and DQ X 4 in November. And they have already released Spelunker, Setsuna, DQH1&2, and Seiken Densetsu Collection. Switch is getting excellent support from Japan's second largest game publisher.

the second level is all about taking the training wheels off and putting you in a very oppressive environment, it forces you to use everything you have learned from the first world. It builds upon the narrative of a broken world.

Its got building elements similar to minecraft and you get supplies throughout the world with the use of a tool, but it has quests and a story and what not.

This is a total surprise /s.

I just hope they go balls to the wall with the PS4 version, the first game was held back to an extent by Vita, I played both version of the game but found my footing with the PS4 version. The visuals and controls were a lot better on a gamepad especially for long play & build sessions, the portable novelty wore off when I realized how good the game was thus wanting to experience in it's maximum form.

I hope this becomes a long running sub series, it's a day one buy and I already want Dragon Quest Builders 3 confirmed.

It's sort of a remake of Dragonquest 1 story wise and map/world/building wise with minecraft building mechanics, quests & sidequests, objectives & free-build mode.

I hope they keep it, but tweak it so you can take a few things with you. I actually really liked the struggle to survive in the beginning of each new place. It added a sense of challenge that I enjoyed overcoming each time, and I loved how desperate it made certain zones seem (particularly the swamp area and last level).
