SO BOUGHT!!!

Sequel, expansion, it doesn't matter. Take my money! DD stands as my favorite game of the generation--I put 150 hours into it and will be all too happy to go back for more.

I thought they already said it's an expansion, not a sequel. They've said for a while that more substantial DLC is on the way, and this is it.

The director has commented on wanting to make a sequel repeatedly already, saying he wants to add a lot more to the game world, including new races and classes. I'm not expecting that for the DLC.

either way I'm hyped.

DD is probably one of my favorite games ever.

It's rare that I can play though a game twice and not get tired of it.

Give me more loot and perhaps a new class or two (pure melee class would be hype) and I'm fine. New land would be great too.

Hopefully this one is a lot more interesting. There wasn't much of a soul in the first game and it was more generic than a lot of western RPGs. Also be more consistent with the difficulty. I shouldn't be able to wipe bandits out and then go 10 feet further and get 1 shotted by another group of bandits.

Awesome, glad I can transfer my character and pawn. Half way into the game I played with only my one pawn.

However, as much as I like the pawn system, co-op would be glorious.

You expect them to release a proper sequel in less than one year since the original came out?

Nope...but I just want more content.

I don't give a shit if it's a full fledged sequel or not.

The guy I quoted made it seem like "Oh look here's Capcom with another sequel...what losers".

I'll take support of the series anyway I can get it.

OK... no Wii U version. It's a bit annoying for a console that wants to be the leader in Japan to not have a higher profile series from the first HD era.

I really enjoyed the hell out of Dragon's Dogma, maybe it was just that it was this year's Dead Space - as in a title that I didn't hold up much hope for pre-release so I went in with lowered expectations - so any reason to go back and replay is welcome. New content even better.

I thought he implied that they have become kinda sloppy lately and judging by the RE6 demos i can't say i dissagree.RE6 to me looks like a game that needs at least one more year of polishing before it's ready to be shown publicly.

I really enjoyed the first DD but i want them to push hard for the sequel and take as much time as they need in order to significantly improve it.The last thing that we need is a rushed game.DD has potential as a new IP so i hope Capcom doesn't rush to milk it.

Yessss.

just when i thought i was out, the wind pushes me back in.

I had a blast with the first game.

I wonder who the Dark Arisen is.
what if it's your original Arisen, and your new game+ old pawn/new arisen becomes your main? /Shyamalan twist

oh...agreed.

I didn't mean to be a dick about it.

This seems like an expansion rather than a full sequel and it's not coming until nest year probably after DmC and LP3. Plus this could just be content that was being worked on either during development and didn't make it (or was gonna be on disk DLC lolololol) or right after as future DLC but got so big that they wanted a full fledged release.

Hopefully they release it as a download rather than having to buy a new disk.

It sounds a bit like a GOTY edition.

Either way I'm gonna be there day 1.

wish list:

1- new ground to explore, definitely add something to the map, or new map? map is pretty small as it is. I think we will get this certainly, how big or new it would be though remains to be seen. a desert would be cool or snow even and more dungeons.

2- dynamic weather effects; rain putting off your lantern! like when you get wet in the game. it could affect use of fire magic too. there were "strong winds" in some part of the map too but now make them random. they can add a lot of variety with these.

3- setting AI behavior. what was in the game wasn't very good, I'm not sure if I understand it still, it wasn't really needed to pay much attention to it. a gambit like system wouldn't be bad but it's not really necessary with the current battles and difficulty, if hard mode requires more micromanagement then this could be a good thing to add.

4- underwater fights and monsters :3

The rain and the lantern is totally evil.. i want this ..

More option for AI behaviour would be great ( but that won't happen until a sequel sadly.

i want more aerial fights than underwater but either is fine for me..

I hope they spend the effort on crafting a good dungeon crawler and a better map to explore in, forget about the silly town npcs and dialogues outside of the few important ones, copy dark souls! I want lots of combat, exploration, getting fucked at night, and finding hidden treasures.

Holy shit, this is what I wanted to see. All of the little weapon packs and meaningless missions just did not cut it. Absolutely cannot wait.

While I'd love rain and weather to be in the game I shudder to think how terrifying the framerate would be in the PS3 version when it already was pretty bad.

So this pretty much confirms Dragons Dogma isn't getting a PC release? We would have heard about it by now, god that makes me sad.

Will pick up Dragon Dogma on a $10-20 black friday sale then.

This sounds like an expansion a la Skyrim ones. If it's an add-on, I don't understand the complaints. It would be roughly a year later.

Capcom is in a no-win situation. Even if they do put out something that adds content in a way people supposedly want, people still freak out and claim milking.

They spent multiple years (3?) making this thing. It sells a million and it "bombed". Why shouldn't they try to recoup something from that? Is that so awful? Geez, what's happening to this industry?

The only way I would be pissed is if they did not give us anything like this at all. All of the weapon packs and pointless missions were what frustrated me. How can people get pissed that they are giving us what looks like some substantial content nearly a year later? Everyone releases DLC, but Capcom is the devil for doing so?

Sweet, I will buy this. I still need to finish the main game, though. It's pretty great but the quest tracking is so borked, I've found it kinda hard to figure out how to make progress sometimes.

I'm in as well as it's well written. That was DD's biggest flaw, the fact that 90% of the plot is complete garbage, then you get to the very end, have your mind blown, and it's over.

But I'm down for more puzzles, more combat and most importantly, more clothing. I also wouldn't mind the ability to create 2 more pawns that aren't effected by the rift.

I wanna play dress up damnit. DD didn't have that many choices I liked.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YESSIR!

unf unf unf unf unf unf unf unf unf unf ...

Git hype. Hard mode beasting here i come. Dark Arisen?? Sure. Whatever. BOUGHT.

Will get for sure as I enjoyed DD a lot. Hopefully there are many new areas in this update. New classes would be cool too.

Also, so much port begging in this thread....

I'll wait to see just how expansive this new addition is, but I'm excited nonetheless. DD is easily one of my favorite RPGs this year.

Has the framerate been fixed and the black bars removed? Wanted to play the first game but the frame rate in the demo was horrible.

This will be great for sure.

But the sequel is really what Im looking for.

There is alot of potential in the core of this game, but it felt as if it were not fully fleshed out....(Only till the very end did the game catch its story telling stride).

I have some high hopes for this series if they can refine it a bit.

I'm not expecting an expansion to fix many of the big design issues people had with it. Probably more likely for a sequel. Save that for next-gen to help with the tech issues.

I'm on the fence right now, as I feel like I've done all I want to do with the game and could still get a pretty good trade-in value for it. Don't necessarily want to sit on this til next year. Too many other games to do the same thing over and over.

PC version or no buy this time. I'm so fucking bored of my PS3.

I love the game, and will buy it on my PS3 if that's all it gets released for, but damn does this game need a PC version. Dragon's Dogma looked good in many spots, but it was obvious how much they struggled technically to get it on those platforms.
