If its 150 bucks they might have a chance - with the casuals that they already secured - but do you really think they are going to recapture any hardcore gamers with this?

What call of duty or halo gamer is going to drop all their achievements, online community and other ingrained notions to buy a new console that may or may not have only marginally better graphics and some new gimmicks that will still have all their 3rd party games on their current system?

I wish they announced some first party stuff for Wii U. A tech demo of Zelda doesn't cut it.

Third party support is nice but, again, nothing substantial was shown.

It's clear that Nintendo are trying to stretch themselves over a very large gap between the Wii's death and the Wii U coming out, with little to cover it up.... Which doesn't bode that well for the 3DS, honestly.

So yeah, pretty disappointed all in all. And talking about the 3D Pokedex when it came out a few hours ago, holy crap talk about padding.

Conference itself was kinda dull, but the content was great.

And let's not forget, we're probably not getting X730/PS4 for another 4 years or so, so this puts Nintendo right in the running hardware wise with plenty time to get steam to get people on board with the controller and on their network.

So many people are jumping to conclusions here. We have over a year until this thing comes out, there is plenty of time for software announcements. I instantly started of thinking of ways the controller will interact with games on the tv and there are so many possibilities. I'm excited for it and will buy it day 1.

Well, Nintendo isn't helping. No price, no stats, a bunch of already seen games. The controller was the focus of attention, so any talk about the console seems destined to be uninformed.

I'm sure someone's said it, but the release of the WiiU seems a ways off. Definitely not this year. Well, if that's the case, why showcase 3rd party games that are coming out for the PS360 this year/early next year!? It doesn't make a shred a sense.

Basically, if you have a PS3 or 360, Nintendo gave you absolutely no reason to buy the WiiU. And only time will tell how Nintendo markets this to casuals (many of whom already have smartphones and ipads, and more will have them by next holiday season), but I don't see them jumping on this, either.

Calling it now: The WiiU is dead on arrival.
