E3 2011 Nintendo Press Conference Thread: What's in your coffee? [Over]

What was that?

I'm more baffled than anything. Luigi's Mansion 2 and a vague mention of Smash Bross as a possible future release.

Where the heck are the games!?

I have never been more absolutely confused by a video game thing

Hhaha, me too. It's a new console, but they didn't show it, and the controller works for the wii? I dunno. It's confusing, they didn't show content-wise anything for the console itself that isn't exclusive.

They have nothing to really show for Wii U.

Sort of disappointing.
It does seem like they jumped the gun a bit: only hands-on stuff is 'experiences', no actual games as of yet.

But the potential is great.

It's just a shame they caught up to MS/Sony's tech just as those companies are presumably warming up another significant forward leap.

Trying to decide if this is worse than $599 U.S. dollars.

Given that we have no price yet...

That controller CAN'T be cheap though. It'll cost upwards of $60 per. Closer to $99.

At least $200 some for a console and $99 for a controller...OUCH

For a while I thought the Wii U was just an add-on to the Wii, not a new console.

Fucking hell they made it confusing.

Nothing shown to be excited about. Third party titles I can play on other consoles/PC, gimmicky controller, no hardware specs...

You people are so fucking predictable. Not sure what everyone was expecting.

Cry moar, please. Not everyone is disappointed. This thing isnt launching this yr. Looks like an awesome concept, seems to have a ton of power, and heck of alot of 3rd party support. WTF do you want?
A third-party game that is not a port (outside of some awful looking Tekken)?

No Last Story.

No Xenoblade.

Fuck Nintendo. Fuck them in their shitter without lube.

Calm down. If they are going to be announced, they weren't going to be in the conference. Notice how no Wii games were there?

I've realized from this thread that Ninty could take a shit on a plate, and some of you would eat it, and claim it to be chicken.

I've realized from this thread Nintendo could announce ANYTHING and people would bitch like you.

3rd party stuff that I couldn't get 6 months previously

I personally thought it looked pretty great despite the lack of software. Let's just hope the devs and nintendo alike deliver some really great content.

so many mad people

before nintendo showed HD = HAHA NINTENDO IS DOOMED
after nintendo showed HD = W-W-WELL WELCOME TO FIVE YEARS AGO

if nintendo can retail this for $150-$200 they win
No when their competition especially Microsoft can offer a 360 and Kinect for less.

Well Nintendo definitely won. I'd give that a B+. As predicted they're actually making an effort with third parties and the hardcore with the "Cafe". That was nice to see. They showed the most that piqued my interest and had the least amount of tired shooter sequels. Ironically they also had the least amount of lame motion gimmick crap on display.

Not terrible but disappointing

No new 3DS games shown
No Xenoblade/last story announcements
Wii U looks to be current gen tech.
Lego is the only exclusive game announced for Wii U

:/

ok time to go to work!

There just wasn't enough games shown off for the new system. I'm guessing we still have a minimum of a year to go? Still on the fence about.

- Online support and store
- 3rd party support

They got the first party covered. Would have lied to have seen more of it but w/e.

No Wii shit either :[

Best conference though this year. This years E3 hasn't been very good.

LOL @ people excited about playing Battlefield 3 on that bloated controller.

The point being, the engine is able to run on slightly above Wii level hardware is mind-blowing more than it coming to the console.

I'm not buying it as I'm going to take a wait and see approach to the console as we've been down this road before and 3rd parties will abandon it a year in again. But if Nintendo and third parties stay on it the concept of the controller (even if slightly unwieldy) is mindblowing.

I'd say this is a B conference because of the new hardware, but the Zelda opening and boring rehashes really dragged it down.
