E3 Press Conference Grading Thread

Who had your favorite E3 press conference?

Results are only viewable after voting.
Sony - A+ - The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shenmue III. Just typing it out is ridiculous. Can still barely believe it. Plus they had the game of the show Horizon: Zero Dawn. Although their show could still have been better, they could have dropped the Disney Infinity segment and had some more first party reveals: Sony Bend, Quantic Dream, God of War 4, Gran Turismo 7, Sony Japan Studio etc but I don't think anyone will ever top it. Sony's conference cemented this E3 as the best ever so I have to give it full marks.

Square Enix - B+ - They are back! The new CEO seems dedicated to ushering a new era of console RPGs and it's about time. Announced a few nice surpises, World of Final Fantasy, Nier 2, and an RPG from a new studio, as well as showing Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay along with the Eidos games. Could have been better with some new FFXV footage, Dissidia announcement or some gameplay of FFVII Remake but it's obviously too early. Great show though and Square are on the path to redeeming themselves.

Bethesda - B- - Fallout 4 looked incredible, Dishonored 2 was a nice surprise, but Doom looked as boring as ever. Solid show though from one of the smaller publishers.

Microsoft - C - A fairly standard conference, nearly everything was predictable and entirely expected, the Gears 4 showing was really poor and overall there was just no surprises or anything that would get me or anyone previously not interested in an Xbox One to buy one. They need to do better next year as Sony really showed them up.

Nintendo - D - I think I'm being generous here, they had a few good things but overall it was such a low effort from them it was borderline insulting. They clearly are developing for their next platform so things are a little sparse to put it mildly. Overall though they could have not even showed up and I don't think anyone would have noticed. Hell, they practically didn't show up. On a more positive note, next year should be better with the announcement of their next platform.

Sony - B - Horizon looked amazing and lots of 3rd party support. Not as excited as others about an overrated RPG remake coming out three years from now, but it's cool for the fans.

Microsoft - B - BC is great, and they seem to be taking their 1st party offerings much more serious with games like Recore. Nice 3rd party support as well, especially the indie titles shown.

Ubisoft - C+ - Lots of cool looking stuff mixed with some boring stuff.

EA - C- - Garden Warfare 2 is all I needed.

Bethesda - C- - Dishonored 2 is cool.

Nintendo - D+ - The best looking game was game shown plenty of times already. A nice "screw you" to Metroid and Animal Crossing fans though...

I don't understand how Sony could be running away with this polling. The Last Guardian Trailer was awful. You could actually see how poorly the gameplay was functioning and beyond that nothing happened. The one Morpheus game they showed off looked just awful. It certainly didn't hold a candle to Microsoft's Minecraft Hollolens. The FF announcement was cool, but only a timed exclusive.

I dunno, I really hate Microsoft, but, despite the fact that nearly every game they showed was a post apocalyptic, a shooter, or both, they had a much better showing than Sony. A lot of first party exclusives and new IPs, Hollolens looks amazing, Valve and Oculus partnerships for VR, and all but two or three games shown in the Playstation conference are coming to Xbox.

Man did Nintendo drop the ball...

Overall, it looks like this is going to be another great year of waiting til Next Year.

Microsoft: A- Lot of New Stuff, needs more Diversity
Sony: B Last Guardian Letdown, Very Few True Exclusives, No Morpheus
Nintendo: C- Star Fox was great, but the 2015 lineup was MIA. Where are Devils Third and Fatal Frame guys? Oh and seriously, X is December? and WTF is up with turning AC into a crappy board game. Ridiculous.

You actually kinda mirror what I think, I'd probably bump Nintendo up to a solid C after seeing some Treehouse footage. But yeah they are transitioning, this year and honestly next year I think will be pretty weak for them. Sony put on a big show to hide that 3rd parties are supporting their holiday for the 3rd year straight, and MS did a lot of really cool stuff, especially with PC, that I feel like they aren't getting credit for.

Sony: A - Knew what many fans wanted and actually delivered... 3 megatons. Horizon and Uncharted were excellent showings. A+ would have been given if they had more to do with Morpheus and the downer section during the middle part of the show. Otherwise probable Sony's best ever conference. (I just wished they said at the end, "btw when we are panning out that is because all of these games will be on Morpheus)
Microsoft: B - Solid showing from MS, just chucked games at us with the novelty BC thrown in as well (hardly anyone will use that feature). Some of the games seemed quite generic and just fit the bill as to what will sell, I'm looking at you Tomb Raider/Halo.
Bethesda: B+ - Fallout 4 and Dishonored... nuff said.
Nintendo: D- - Nintendo have slipped right down in my opinion of them, horrible direction for a company beloved by so many. They are losing their relevance when indie devs are bringing that audience to consoles/mobile/PC.
EA: D - Would have been lower if not for Battlefront and Mass Effect, just generic games over and over again. I assume one of those will be controversial anyway and EA will screw it up.
Oculus: F - Should have just left it to the MS conference announcement.
PC: - - Have not seen.
Ubisoft: B- - South Park and Rainbow Six were great additions, some faults but overall a solid showing.

Bethesda - B+
Saw a lot of good games was impressed by all, still none were surprised so lacked the wow factor.

EA - C
You brought Pelè on stage so brownie points. Also Unraveled looks really good. The cocktease that was ME Andromeda docks points as well as the sin of no dismemberment in battlefront. Unforgivable be glad it isn't an F EA.

Sony - B+
Sony dropped some bombs.....none of which have hit the ground yet and one of which looks like it needs to go back to stark industries for a touch up (TLG). I'm not impressed until one of these games materializes and is in my hands. Wow factor was amazing though, but additional points off for basically announcing nothing I can play in the next 6 months.

Microsoft - B
Backwards Compatibility stole the show. Recore was a nice surprise and Halo looks solid. Bonus points for instant Gears beta. Points off for no Scalebound or Quantum Break.

Ubisoft - F +
Jason Derulo was horrid, Aisha Tyler was cringe worthy and I'm pretty sure she made that Jacob Cosplayer want to never come back ever. You gained points for Ghost Recon and For Honor so you get a plus.

Square Enix - C
Pretty boring, desperately needed a translator at the end. The biggest announcement was spoiled at the Sony show. KH3 gameplay was nice but everything else was decidely average.

Nintendo - F - - -
What the actual fuck. That isn't Metroid what you showed me yesterday. Also 10 minutes on wooly world....take a good look at yourselves and never do that again.

Yep, most of which will be better experienced on pc

Really the PC is the winner of e3. So many console games making their way to PC now

Well, we're seeing the results of the expanded market.

Bethesda, DICE, Bioware, Crytek, Paradox, Falcom and many others were PC developers just like Omega force, Compile heart, Nis etc were console developers.
I think it's just fair that multiplatform third party developers are... really multiplatform.

It's great for everyone!

Bethesda: B-

Fallout 4 gave it that score. Didn't care for the other games.

Microsoft: C-

I don't have Xbox One. I don't hate it but they just don't have stuff that interests me. The only thing was Cuphead and the Dark Souls 3 announcement. Still, it was a okay conference for those that have a X1 and there was nothing cringe worthy.

EA: D-

Battlefront 3 was amazing. Mass Effect will be more intriguing once they actually show footage. But all that sports was dreadful.

Ubisoft: C+

Entertaining at least. Derulo was funny to watch. Some cool games and I somewhat intrigued.

Sony: A+

Even with some of the drags the hype and emotions watching this was nothing like before for me. I watched it live with the GT crew and that FFVII announcement was so amazing. I was literally shaking when TLG appeared. Loved it.

Nintendo: D

I like the direct format. It's quick and less awkward than their usual conferences. The puppets were great. BUT, it was severely disappointing and pointless. The only thing I'm interested in is X and that has been shown forever.

Square: D+

Kingdom Hearts 3. Just Cause 3. Deus Ex. Nier 2. The way everything was presented was dreadful and sooo boring.

Sony: S+. Believe when I say this. I think this conference was designed exclusively for people like me - the Trinity believer: The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy 7 remake and Shenmue. All the exhaustion I had prior was instantly replaced with euphoria. Imagine, games that were considered dead, unreal and vaporized and SONY somehow managed to combine all 3 - in ONE conference. I was happy knowing TLG was introduced, then another surprise in the form of Horizon and it was like a 90s kid dream come true.

And fuck me did Hashimoto double-trolled us on PSX. When I saw the opening trailer of FF7 Remake I was laughing, expecting a movie at the end but as the word "remake" appeared on screen, I laughed even harder seeing how unbelievable this reveal was.

Then....

Shenmue. At this point, I fucking lost it, the dream of dreams, my game of all games the unexpected of unexpected of announcements. I was laughing maniacally and crying in both happiness and the sheer utter shock and ridiculous nature of how it just appeared out of nowhere ESPECIALLY right after FF7R. It was done, there was nothing more needs to be said, conference ended right there for me.
.

This post was even more entertaining than some of the better live reaction videos.

Bethesda: A Surprisingly solid first show. Good pacing. Games there don't really speak to me, but it felt brief and well paced.

MS: B Not many of those games really speak to me as a player, but there was some cool looking ideas like Recore, and some cool indie games like Cuphead and Superhot.

EA:D Worst conference by far. Only saved by Unraveled and Battlefront. So much padding, terrible pacing (That sequence from unraveled to GW2 felt jaring)

UBI:B+ Solid conference. South park funny as ever, for honor looked interesting, and Seige looks fun.Aisha is great. Although the open world stuff isn't really doing it for me

Sony:A+ In sheer showmanship, sony wins. Its going to be a long time for a conference to have this level of announcements.

Nintendo:C A rather safe show. Usual suspects are here, but nothing really surprising or eye catching. Would be a D if not for Muppets.

SE:B+ Solid show, interesting games, and platinum games hype.

PC: N/A Didn't watch it

Yep, most of which will be better experienced on pc

Really the PC is the winner of e3. So many console games making their way to PC now

Don;t see the relevance, and that is subjective, I know many that hate playing on PC for numerous reasons including all friends are on console, hate using PC for games, don't have space or like hooking it up to TV etc.. Plus numerous amazing games are not coming to PC ala Horizon.

Microsoft: 3/10 shooters that looked really boring with really bad demos and some other stuff, gears/halo/forza the usual stuff. pretending that rare is even relevant today.

Sony: 7/10 some nice surprises and reveals

Nintendo: 4/10 disappointing but the presentation itself was kinda entertaining

all the third party ones were okay i guess, obviously it was a lot less tedious when they were showing games i'm interested in and each of them had at least 2 that i am interested in, ubisoft and ea were the funniest.

bethesda: 5/10 fallout surprised me, doom looked shit

ea: 5/10 mirrors edge, battlefront, pele, hoopgod

ubisoft: 5/10 jason derulo, aisha taylor doing her usual stuff, dude from the honor game.

square enix: 5/10 deus ex, just cause. very bland presentation.

pc: 2/10 some entertaining guests and day9 did well but they couldn't rescue this, just a bunch of stuff we've already seen with a few lowkey announcements. if they do it next year it needs cutting down a lot and try to get some exclusive footage or something

Sony - 9.5, what can I say, an almost perfect showing

Bethesda - 8, solid first attempt at a press conference

Microsoft - 8, I don't own an Xbox One and this won't change that, however a solid show which kept my attention

Square Enix - 7, good attempt at a fist press conference, but Bethesda did it better. Re-tool and loosen up next time.

EA - 7, just alright, EA Sports stuff went on too long

Ubisoft - 6, new IP did not impress at all, tired of seeing the rest of their IP's that still haven't released (Rainbow Six, The Division) or yearly entries (AC)

Nintendo - 4, does this even count anymore? Found it to be very boring, I don't understand how Nintendo expects to attract new buyers to a Wii U...

Oculus - 3, overall a pointless show

PC gaming show - did not see it.

I hate to say it but I think at this point it is simply trolling? It is flat wrong, maybe temp bans for going on with that nonsense.

You cherry picked one tiny comment out of long, fairly balanced post where that guy still gave your favorite show a B+. Your post history is one wave of console wars after another, and you want someone banned because they didn't like Sony's E3 press conference enough.

I don't think there's even a contest, Sony blew everything out of the water. And people thought the 2013 event couldn't be topped. Hhahah :D

Only watched MS & Sony:

MS: A-, a few nice new game announcements but nothing major. Focused on their 2015 lineup which is amazingly strong. Halo 5 looked immense.

Sony: A+, What more to say, bombs were dropped. 2016 and beyond looks like some PS2 level shit for PS4 & their 1st party studios continue to display the power gap over XB1.

Bethesda: B+ = Doom looks awesome, Fallout 4 has me mildly intrigued. Solid conference all around

Microsoft: B- = BC is a good feature to have, Cuphead looks amazing, and the VR demo was pretty awesome. Everything else was kinda blah.

EA: D+ = Didn't get to see all of it. Need for Speed looks interesting, don't care much for PvZ, Unravel looked really good, but pretty much flat-lined after that.

Ubisoft: N/A = Didn't watch

Sony: A+ = They won this conference 5 minutes in by finally giving us gameplay of TLG. Horizon looks nuts, No Man's Sky sense of scale is amazing, Dreams looks intriguing, FF7 Remake reveal shocked me, Shenmue 3 Kickstarter reveal got me out of my seat, PS Vue letting you pay for the channels you want is very much wanted when they decide to launch it everywhere, Devolver Games lineup looks great, UC4 seems like it will be a blast. Quite possibly the best E3 presser ever, and I never thought they would surpass the PS4 used games/price announcement.

Nintendo: D- = The puppets were fun, and I'm interested in StarFox and X. Everything else was an absolute bore.

SquareEnix: A = I can't give it quite the same grade as Sony's. But when they announced Nier 2 being made by Platinum Games, I legit lost my damn mind. That made the presser amazing by itself. Hitman sounds good, KH3 gameplay looks really awesome. You know what, it gets an A just for the Nier announcement alone. Never did I dream that would ever happen.

PC: N/A - Didn't watch.

Oculus: 2/5

Pacing wasn't good at all and the announcements weren't there. The Xbox section was downright embarrasing. Didn't spend enough time on their own controllers. Some cool game announcements.

Bethesda: 3/5

Doom and Fallout were really cool but everything in between did nothing to me. Mediocre pacing.

Microsoft: 3/5

Some really cool stuff like Hololens which was probably the tech of the show for me. No real bad parts but no real highpoints either.

EA: 2/5

Long sports section with Pele interview and all was very tedious. Mirror's Edge saved a lot. Unravel deserves a mention too.

Ubisoft: 3/5

Some cool games (and even surprises) but mostly it was the stuff you'd expect from Ubisoft. Decent over all.

Sony: 5/5

All about games and solid content all over. Great pacing with no real dull parts.

Nintendo (including WC): 3/5

Conference was poorly paced and lacking in new announcements. WC on the other hand was best part of the E3. Conflicted showing.

Square Enix: 4/5

Square Enix had a very strong lineup. Nothing embarrasing so that alone gets you a high score. Nier 2 by Platinum Games was the surprise of the show for me.

PC: 3/5

Liked the talk show format. Not many announcements but going in with modest expectations I was pleasantly surprised.

Overall E3 score: 4/5

Best E3 I have watched. In the end it's all about game and this time I feel there were so much variety and promising looking games.

I voted for Bethesda because Doom and Fallout 4.

Even without many surprises, Nintendo showed fun and creative games.

Ubisoft and Square had some cool sequels.

Microsoft and Sony were ok, but still haven't convinced me to buy one of their systems yet.

Bethesda -5/5 oustanding. Went way over my expectations with fallout 4 and the mobile game is even really good.

MS - 4/5. I love bc. I get to play my digital library now. I loved sea of thieves. Recore. Halo 5. They didn't even touch scale bound or Crackdown. And a lot of the games were releasing soon. Forza 6 so soon and the rare collection is awesome. Gears was just extra for me at this point. Also loved not wasting 30 minutes on call of duty. I like the games, but don't waste my conference time.

Sony -3/5 I don't care about tlg or shenmue. Not to mention shenmue was only just lip service with a Kickstarter. TLG only showed that after all this time? And it's not even out for how long? The rest I can get on Xbox or pc. No man's sky even looks to be a timed exclusive. I'm just not into the jrpg scene so it wasn't for me. I would have given them a solid 5/5 though if "the trinity" was any more progressed than it was. People accepted all that as so much? They've hardly done any work on those games!
Uncharted looks great as does horizon. Those were high points for sure. Horizon looks outstanding and original.

Sony took E3.

Nintendo's conferences have been consistently weak for years now with this years being particularly bad...really embarrassing at some points with games that I feel nobody asked for ever. Something seemed really out of touch.

Microsoft was decent, but nothing really stuck with me. Most of the content I would play can be found elsewhere.

Square was great too. Quite a few games I was really interested in.

EA and Ubisoft had a few nice things scattered about.

Konami...well...Metal Gear more like, looked incredible.

Overall, amazing E3 showing minus Nintendo.

Sony - A+
I got to hand it to Sony. After their awful press conference last year, they came back swinging. This year, they had not one but three megatons - I only cared about TLG but the other two got me excited just cause I knew people would be freaking out about it. The conference also had superb pacing, with each game being given appropriate time but without over-staying their welcome. That said, I wish there were more first party titles on display. We got Horizon and TLG, but would have been nice for even one more reveal. As it stands, I think third party's are collectively picking up Sony's slack.

Nintendo - F
Ah, the other end of the spectrum completely. This press conference was garbage. And thats a damn shame considering last year Nintendo saved E3 for me and sold me on a Wii U. Its funny - Sony trolled FF fans with that chubby game, only to follow it up with FF7 remake. Nintendo trolled their fans multiple times, only to follow it up with jack shit. AC Party is one of the worst things I've ever seen Nintendo present. Star Fox was disappointingly ugly, and lacks online. This event made me feel like Wii U was dead in the water. 3DS fared better, but even then the titles didn't really wow. More like "Oh.... ok..." Also the developer stories went on was too long.

Awful, just awful.

Ubisoft - B-
It was alright. South Park was a great surprise. The sword game looked neat. From there it went downhill a bit as the rest of the show lacked any big, cool surprises like what they started off with. I like Aisha, but some of the jokes (like the memes one) were just bad - overall she did good, but like the past few years, some moments just feel like she is trying to hard. Still enjoy her presence though.

EA - missed it
Microsoft - only saw a third of it, but what I saw was alright.
PC gaming - more like a talk show. Not a fan.

Sony won e3 two years in a row?

Is this real life?

Sony did a shit job last year. Not even comparable to the quality we got from them this year.

The main two console were pretty close. I personally own an Xbox, for me they just edged it, now the hype has settled.

Overall two pretty good conferences, with only minor complaints from me.

MS - B+

Backwards Compatability. Dat controller. Halo looks awesome. Gears hype. New IP. Rare collection. New Rare IP.

MS delivered on their promise. They showed, bar one or two, only games you will play before the next E3.

All this without Crackdown, Scalebound, and Quantum Break.

I enjoyed the HoloLens piece and some nice Indie titles too.

Only downer was the hype train stopped a little in the middle.

SONY - B

Sony just missed it for me. Just. And much of it is due to a promise.

No doubt, Shenmue, FF Remake, and The Last Guardian was an incredible hattrick, especially for us Gaffer's.

Ive backed Shenmue, coming 2017 earliest. FF7 was a CG trailer. The Last Guardian is the same game (not necessarily a bad thing) we saw at original reveal.

Unlike MS, most of their big hits are coming next year. Many of them saying 2016 as opposed to "early 2016" No announcement on No Mans Sky was a surprise.

Morpheus was interesting. And TV TV TV TV TV? It was so obvious Sony would follow MS suit.

only rating the ones I've watched

Microsoft 3.5/5: was decent, some nice exclusives in halo 5 and gears 4, more or less what was expect they would show, pirate thing looked interesting too edit: oh right fuck forgot about the controller and BC and holo stuff, idk still kinda skeptical about the holo lens, it's one of those "need to see it to believe it" things

EA - 2.5/5: again, nothing to crazy, showed a mass effect trailer, mirrors edge looks nice, hope that one doesn't bomb again ^^ battlefront, idk never been a big star wars fan, as far as a shooter goes the gameplay looks okay, but the star wars skin over it is just "meh", in between those that yarn game which isn't for me but nice of EA to show this at the major stage and sports which again isn't for me, but given how much cash that makes each year I totally understand why it's there, oh right old republic trailer, kinda wants me to sub for a month or two to see the story, I rather liked some of the class stories in Old Republic when I played it, need for speed, idk might be amazing with all the customization and there seem to be live action cinematics, which if done properly can be some campy fun, but still not feeling the inclusion of cops

Ubisoft 3.5/5: loved For Honor one of my favorite things shown and the new ghost recon looks great too, south park was a nice surprise although I have yet to play the first one other than that mostly stuff that was expected, the division, rainbow six, creed etc all games I look forward to playing, some minus points for the life performance kinda not something i want to see at e3

Sony 4.5/5: Horizon and Uncharted 4 looked amazing, my favorite games shown this year and a big reason for me wanting to buy a ps4 in the future (will probably wait for a price drop and possible God of War game), new Hitman, new CoD and then there is that 3 games I personally don't care about (even thought Last guardian looked kinda shit) but I understand why they would be big news for some ^^ great show overall minus 0.5 for that streaming tv thingy stuff I kinda don't even know what it was about since I tuned out during it and VR stuff which I also find rather unappealing

Nintendo N/A: I don't want to rate nintendo, not because I hated it or anything it's just stuff that I completely don't care about, games that don't interest me in the slightest, it would just be 0/5 each year ^^ reading from the reactions seems like my usual boredom at their conference was this year quite a bit more widespread, the music montage was really bad, plus looking at it unless there are a big announcements in the next half a year the Wii U seems dead and that NX thing is just around the corner, probably late 2016 or early 2017

Bethesda: 3/5
Not bad for a first showing. Dishonored 2 was expected but very nice to see. DOOM did not really excite me much surprisingly (I like the classic gameplay though). Would have liked a bit more than half of it filled with "just" Fallout 4. What I saw was good though. Todd Howard was really good on stage as well and I liked listening to him.

Microsoft: 4/5
Great announcements incl. BC of Xbox360 titles and a nice cluster of titles like Rise of Tomb Raider, Halo, Gears 4 and some nice indies. Great show and a real turnaround from previous years.

EA: 2/5
Sports went on far too long. Mass Effect 4 got a trailer and nothing else. Mirror's Edge was nice though. I'm happy it's back and looking really good. Otherwise a disappointing showing.

Ubisoft: 2/5
Neither the division nor Rainbow Six really impressed me. The yearly AC is getting very stale to watch. Where's a game made with UbiArt? Where's Ancel?

Sony: 5/5
Longterm shocking announcements are what E3 is here for. The combination of Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian and FF 7 remake in the same show is the stuff of dreams (even funnier that a game got announced as such!). Horizon as a new IP from Guerilla Games looked great. Ending it with Uncharted 4 was fantastic (despite the technical hickup) and made for an exciting press conference.

Nintendo: 3/5
Another disappointing showing especially as a Wii U owner and I guess some projects were moved for project NX. I had fun with the press conference despite that not many titles were shown for Wii U. Super Mario Maker actually looks really cool and I want it. That Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer was amazing too.

Square-Enix: 3/5
A shocking announcement: NieR 2 made by Platinum Games!? Great reveal. A nice showing of Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay and some great titles like Deus Ex, Hitman and Just Cause made for a good conference. Too much talking was involved though. More show, less talk next time!

PC gaming show: ?
Did not see it.

Out of ten for ones I saw.

Microsoft - 7/10: Cuphead and a few other things impressed me, hololens for example looks very interesting. Other than that there was nothing getting the juices flowing although I recognise objectively there was good stuff. Things like Gears and Halo do nothing for me anymore.

Sony - 8/10: Shenmue I never played and not interested in. FF7 is interesting and the only Final Fantasy game I loved, yet very little info and way off. The Last Guardian is a dream come true but I was underwhelmed, which was inevitable I guess. 2016? Really? And it looks like a HD port of the PS3 reveal, which isn't a dealbreaker or anything but c'mon. Uncharted I think has to be the most overrated game series I have ever seen, if Michael Bay made games... yeah. So really there is a lot of promise but nothing that appealing to me personally, nothing imminent is very disappointing too. Horison I liked the look of however, I just don't like the character and the lack of options in that regard puts me off. Dreams is fantastic and really want to see more. Again, objectively I know it was better than I credit it.

Ubisoft - 8.5/10: For Honour and Ghost Recon look amazing, probably get a downgrade but I think they both look epic. The Division is interesting but I hate MMO's. Assassins Creed in London is something I have wanted a long time, the main characters and story seem like crap but what's new. Apart from the forced humour it had some very good content. You would normally only get one big game reveal, but having two in one show and both look great. I think Ubisoft get a bad rep for a few missteps, doing things like Rocksmith to help people gives them a lot of credit.

Oculus - N/A - didn't watch it.

Bethesda - 8/10 - for a first attempt this was great, no obvious gaffes and pacing was kept well, even if 2/3rd of the conference were kept on 2 games but there was alot to talk about on them both and they knew it. Bonus points to Dishonored reveal so a lot of good stuff there. Some more meaningless stuff like Battlecry, Hearthstone knock off, ESO etc but it was kept brief at least.

Microsoft - 7/10 - good, snappy and paced well even if there wasn't a lot of megatons. Good 3rd party coverage with a sprinkling of first party. Bonus points for that new controller and BC.

EA - 4/10 - jesus fucking christ, so damn bad! Only reason it's not lower is cos there was some good games: Unravel, Battlefront, GW2, ME2 and ME: Andromeda. The Unravel guy was also one of the best moments from E3 :)
Still though, 95% was fucking sports and mobile.

Ubisoft - 2/10 - yes to me this was even worse than EA. Why? Cos apart from South Park, there was f*cking NOTHING interesting here!
Ghost Recon? Another Ubi open world game (that could have been Far Cry 5 in 3rd person). Yves? Learn what new IP means.
inigomontoya.jpg

Division? Ubisoft's Destiny *shudder*
AC? Who cares anymore? It can take a long walk off a cliff for all I care.
Also, Jason Derulo, jesus fucking god, what was that shit?!
Last, stop bringing back Aisha Tyler. She's terrible.

Sony - 9/10 - a historic E3 frankly: TLG, FF7 Remake and Shenmue 3 (even if I'm only interested in 1 of those I still appreciate their relevance). Also, great 3rd party and indie coverage.
I have to take a point off though cos there's some worrying gaps in their first party lineup; where is QD, God of War, GT etc?
PS: they started on time, and were less than 2 hours!

Nintendo - 5/10 - just meh, nothing really here.

Square Enix - 6/10 - too formal and too long but some good stuff in Just Cause, Deus Ex and Hitman.

PC - 3/10 - wtf was this? couple nice reveals but jesus christ guys, learn brevity, this could have been an hour not nearly 3!

Bethesda: B+
For it being their first conference, it was damn well impressive and their pacing was nice. Showed gameplay for Doom (although it kinda dragged on a little bit) but still .... the gore, blood and sheesh what can I say ! Doom is Back!
Fallout 4, I gotta say, people were really really critical of what it'll look like before they revealed it. I was blown away at how beautiful looking it is. From the green colors of f3 to the yellow/orange deserts of the mojave(fnv), they showed every new bits and pieces of what a next-gen fallout should be

Microsoft: C+
Cuphead was the highlight for me at the show and although the Backwards compatibility was awesome, i felt the other areas was too damn predictable. Gears 4 was shallow( get it ? :P ) Recore although nice was a cgi trailer, Rare disappointed me the most as i was expecting a Banjo 3 but a pirate mmo was....weird to say the least. The controller they showed was nice but that price of $150 is...ehhhh what the hell..although it is universal and can be used on pc I just wish it was a little bit cheaper.
Now Tomb Raider, i thought they would try to do what Uncharted>Uncharted 2 did on their e3 reveals to wow and top their prior game but Rising although imho already does do well than the first one based from what i've seen, comparing it tot what uncharted did after is......man...... it's like TR is still looking to do their Uncharted 1.

EA: D+
When they had that damn "50 min before Battlefront Gameplay reveal is shown", that is pretty much what the conference was about.. Unravel was the other notable surprise especially coming from an EA conference. PVZ2 was great ! but what i was mad about is NFSU which i was waiting for to see gameplay...it was epic (barring the fucking camera when u turn left and right) the customization is nostalgic to say the least,I was mad that it had only a like a min? and they went back in for "sports sports sports" WTF. Then Came Battlefront gameplay, bruh...the fuck... i thought it was cg at first but it was actual gameplay....so awesome!....but i am still fearing since it is still a mp focused game( I heard there will be single or coop type missions?) it will probably have the same "Evolve" type of the same damn thing every time. Mirrors Edge was great ;_;

Ubisoft: D
Same Issue with EA, pacing was sheesh.. and Jason Derulo? WTF! Aisha Tyler did good as always, an what pisses me off is AC Syndicate showing only CG's? and the gameplay can only be veiwed on youtube which is on their official youtube page or something. Really? Rainbow Six and Division with their "fake" "teamwork" and adding that scripted teamspeak lol, No one plays like that anymore,,, and they were trying so hard to make that real .. The big surprise for me was the last one which is Ghost Recon Wildlands....Open World? almost looks like Just Cause and GTA but i am still skeptical about this hopefully they show me more.

Sony: A
This will probably turn to a circlejerk now but although it had some "boring segments" like the PSVue, Megatons and Megatons and and MEGATONS and Gameplays were dropped. Yeah CGI FFVIIR which i'm intrigued what the actual screens would be. But they delivered on what everyone wanted (Barring Crash, Spyro, LOTD, Snagging SH or probably a price drop) and not only 1 but 3 of them. Having it on pc is nice too as they get to enjoy both the remake and shenmue without petitioning :P. Uncharted as always blowing people away, pacing was better and the segments and that openness OH MAN!
Probably the most notable after every megatons and stuff that was shown was HORIZON:ZERO DOWN. I mean wow, I was only expecting a cgi trailer but when it panned into gameplay i was like wuttttttttttttttttttttttt! a female protag? open world? new vegas and witcher 3 quest peeps? day and night cycles ! this game has a lot of potential as everyone is saying if they nail the story right

all in all Sony probably exceeded expectations

Nintendo: did not watch since i was asleep and had work but i heard it was not very much what people were expecting and was disappointing?

SE : did not watch too but i did saw the KH3 gameplay and it was hypeeee also Nier 2 by Plat Games? i did not play Nier 1 but man that is surprising. Deus Ex was also shown but although I didn't see gameplay ..Twitch showed gameplay portion of it and it was already looking better than HR

In Conclusion: I think Sony won that thing and ran away with it.... everyone thought that ps4 price/no drm/ kh3/ ffxv reveal could never be topped.... well it just got topped broskies

So you're saying that by not showing games, Nintendo got you even more excited for the games they did not show and hence their conference which did not have these games was the best.

LOL. Technically it was the worst conference. It really was lame. But I am excited with the advent of a new console and the death of Wii U. This is from a Wii U owner who likes it.

I rewatched the sony conference on the gametrailers twitch for their reactions and i didn't remember anything after shenmue 3 except uncharted 4. I must've went into some sort of coma breakdown, because i know i was watching the conference, but i have no memories of it.

Sony won e3 two years in a row?

Is this real life?

Three years. 2013 was when they revealed the PS4 and irrevocably damaged the Xbox brand in one fell swoop. Didn't think we'd get another show so one sided, but then this year happened.

So in three years, they've had two TKOs and last years went to a judges descision.

Regarding 2013 is it really a victory when your opponent has a heart attack at the start of the race and you proceed to stomp on their body screaming "fatality!!"?

For 2015 MS had a good conference, I'd go as far to say a great one. There was real focus on games, cementing the platform pivot back to gamers from its misguided origins. Problem is the shadow cast over E3 of three gaming legends was just too strong. Even some of Sony's own announcements were dwarfed by the big three. Horizon looked amazing and should considered up there with game of the show. (Providing it can be demonstrated behind closed doors)

Bethesda did a solid job and had some great stuff. A solid B at least

Microsoft was also a solid showing. Honestly I thought they might have stolen the show immediately after. Though my excitement lowered when some of the details came out. But still could not say anything less than a B+.

Sony.... you cheeky bastard! They blew away all my expectations. Ok thats not true, i expected a stronger Morpheus showing. But the otehr parts not only blew my expectations out of the water they straight up nuked them from orbit. A+

Nintendo... you poor bastard! What were you thinking? It must have been brillaint cuz teh rest of us still dont get what you plan was. A lot of decent or small announcements/updates, but completely devoid of anything "E3 presser" level. 2016 maybe? Though I must admit I find their format fantastic despite the lack of games. A Solid D +

EA... ... ... They had one right? ... ... Why dont I remember? C
