Last game that I remember was similar was Bioshock, i'd put it on a par with that so far.

Yes I am playing ODST and have almost finished it. The city at night is very cool indeed, but I wouldn't call ODST the most atmospheric game ever or something like that.

As far as atmosphere goes, there are just so many games that do it better.

Not hating on ODST here, because I really like it .

I think the levels in the city are amazing for atmosphere, I love flicking between the night vision modes and looking out for the super indendant's indicators.

And I did say game I have played, my memory aint that great to be fair

The FIFA score is a landmark - It's been a looooong time since they reviewed a game in that series, and the fact that it's the only football game they've bothered with this issue (well...this past however many years) speaks volumes. I'm still amazed to some extent that EA have gotten their act together so wonderfully. That PES simply isn't credible opposition these days is worrying though - who's to say that the FIFA team won't get lazy, leaving us with nothing worthwhile unless PES not only recovers but becomes better than it ever has been.

They haven't reviewed either of the main football games for years. PES 4, I think...which would be 2004.

When did FIFA become a good game? Last time i tried a FIFA, a year or two ago, it played like a combination of figure skating where you had to kick a ball that had no weight. It looked like football, but it sure wasn't.
Did they change the physics engine. If they did, and it plays different than previous versions i might get FIFA in favor of PES. At the very least i'll try the demo

Yeah, I know it's blaspheme to say this on GAF, but I can't say I disagree with the seven-ish reviews for Scribblenauts. The controls just aren't there, while the idea truly is fantastic, it just doesn't really translate that well into a playable game.

You do realize popularity =/= quality, right? NFS is a very popular series, but NFS games prior to SHIFT were really mediocre. Same with FIFA.

I can't figure out what the teaser page represents. It's what looks like a map of a road system, in multiple colours; if you can imagine the traffic density maps from SimCity, it could be that sort of thing. However, it's on a massive scale; it looks like you can see the curvature of the Earth in it.

FIFA 10 will be the first football game I buy in years. I played the demo and adored it. Looks nice on PC, too.

I don't get this either. They're coming down on an improved version of a game, on another console at that. It's a NEW PS3 game and they should review it as such. I'm sure the mechanics of NG2 haven't become outdated in the last year. I haven't read their review so maybe the lack of blood really offended them.
