This is more what I was hoping for...

Face make-up, yeah disappointing, but it's sorta unfair to jack Isaac's body up to comic proportions, unless Fox was willing dole out money to mocap Isaac and paste him on a bigger body.

Anyhoo... at least Psylocke and Storm look great.

Disappointed with Apoc's look. However, the CGI touch up with the lip lines/no pupils in the eyes makes it so, so much better.

Psylocke looks good.

Is Jennifer Lawrence still Mystique? If so, Mystique is going to be shoved down your throat and you're going to like it.

Thankfully it sounds like this will be her last one. If they're committed to continuing the X-franchise, I hope this one closes out the Xavier/Magneto/Mystique storylines. Gimme some goddamn starjammers and shi'ar madness, Fox!

I think it's still too early to tell, especially since Apoc can change in size, but the first impressions suck...

You guys literally did the exact same shit for the entirety of Days of Future Past's production.

And then you voted Days of Future Past the 13th best superhero film ever made, smack between Burton's Batman and Watchmen.

GAF cycle in full effect.

Singer has never made a bad X-Men movie, he's 3 for 3, why question his direction now? Just for the sake of complaining about a costume?

Psylocke looks pretty good to me there, and we're not sure if Apocalypse will look like that for all of the movie. It all seems moot at this point.

Apocalypse is going to transform for the big show down anyway, don't get the panic about his size

he shouldn't need to transform. Hulking mass of technomuscles is what he's always been (in his real form)

if anything, he'd become BIGGER

That's a pretty shit looking apocalypse, he looks so fucking small and nonthreatening, like a kid wearing his dads shoes acting like a big man.

Psylocke looks great though as does storm.

Magneto is weird

Personally, I'm expecting a great movie. I just didn't expect old man Apoc.

the first xmen film is trash , but thats not the crews fault it wasn't a fav project of a Fox exec who cut funding, but hey his meddling is how Hugh Jackedman got a shot at the role after another guy dropped out.

Looks like Singer is getting away with the comic accurate costumes on only the Acolytes of Apocalypse. Storm, Psylocke, Magneto, and Archangel will probably have the most outlandish "team" outfits while the X-Men will probably stick closer to what we're seeing Mystique and Quicksilver wearing (unless those are training suits and they get more colorful uniforms later on).

See? this is were I disagree.

Singer has yet to make a good X-Men movie, instead he directs movies with X-Men named characters attached to them.

Why does apoc need to be some huuge bodybuilder? I get the point of physical intimidation, but that's always in a world/medium where cyclops is already 6foot something and shredded. His powers have nothing to do with his biceps right? I have no problem with the translation because I have a lot of faith in Isaac and Singer, but also because I don't expect them to hire the rock to play the part.

Damn I remember having this exact same argument when Chris hemsworths first photo of thor was released. A friend just said he simply wasn't big enough. Lol

I'd be shocked if they went that bold. They still can't even commit to comicbook costumes, much less space shenanigans.

I've actually contemplated that it would be interesting for the X-Men cinematic universe if they go the way of the comics around this era and have Xavier "die" only to invoke bromance rights on his "deathbed" in order to convince Magneto to do a full heel-face turn and take over as headmaster of Xavier's Institute. The idea of Fassbender's Magneto forced to be papa bear to a bunch of scared, angry kids who don't really trust him sounds like it would make a good movie to me. Course, they'd have to kill off Xavier to do that, even temporarily...

Psylocke looks awesome. Storm looks awesome. Apocolypse not so much. It's really just the head/face though. He looks like he has a little too much humanity and he's missing some of the distinct facial features like the lines that travel from the mouth (if they're there, then they're not pronounced enough. Not a huge fan of the tendrils from his head either especially knowing that's probably going to make the actor real stiff.

EDIT: Oh god yeah! Ivan Ooze. That's totally the first thing that came to mind.

that's your opinion. Mine is, he's poison to the franchise

Psylocke looking super silly in her comic costume. I'd rather they tried to make it look like something more practical, like the rest of the Xmen Cinematic stuff.

The rest is fine. I trust Oscar Isaac to nail Apocalypse and trust Singer to get a good film out of this. His Xmen films are easily the best ones and DOFP was fantastic

Apoc....at least what I remember in the animated series was always a hulking intimidating villain. In fact he would often expand his size towering over the X-men like a Sentinel.

Honestly I was kind of hoping they'd give her pants instead of the leotard look, but Psylocke is probably the most faithful recreation of a costume from the comics in any films we've had (except, maybe, Spider-Man?) so there's that.

I think they're going for the more ridiculous costumes here because of the '80s setting, where you can probably get away with much more.

I'm not too familiar with him, I just know he's supposed to be strong af?

Isn't he thousands of years old?

He's the first mutant, found in Egypt. I can't remember the specifics, but there are ties to aliens maybe giving him his abilities or something, but yeah, he's practically a god. He's basically all about Darwinism to the most brutal extreme that "only the strong and evolved deserve to live".

He's what Magneto would be if magneto lost his ability to empathize completely.

I don't get why they didn't just give Storm the leather pants/vest getup that she had in the 80s. Would fit the setting better and would look better than that costume.
