Was the season unexpectedly shortened? Or was this the plan the whole time?
The season was planned to be 8 episodes long. That's what everyone on the staff agreed on. That's what HBO gave them to wrap up the series. It was completely wasted. Any other series would LOVE to wrap up a series in 8 episodes. Bring everything to a close. Wrap up any and all loose ends. Waste of potential. I just hope for everyone's sake that the movie is amazing and ends up being the real series finale.

I also hated Lloyd's little ending when he was talking to Ari. It felt very rushed (then again, the entire episode was) and Rex Lee just didn't seem convincing when he was saying goodbye.

The post-credits ending was pretty cool, I'll admit that. But everything else was just too much in too little time.

This was a very rushed season. Nothing really happened, it was just resolution. Frankly, they pulled a Lost. Emotions running everywhere, and it all ends with them heading into the light.

I didn't even feel like it was resolution. It was just...another season.

I mean, where was Drama's resolution? People joked about him getting an oscar or whatever but at least that would have been *something*.

After all of his years on this show as being "the hustler", Turtle didn't do shit this season. Vince is basically *giving* him money that isn't technically his. He sold his shares, Vince just happened to buy them.

Ari was good, him finally quitting the company makes sense. It feels like everyone else was phoned in this year except for him.

E had some partial closure with getting back together with Sloane, I'm guessing they resolve the stuff with Melinda in the movie? There was some heavy dissonance seeing them walk off together, knowing that everyone had been lying to Sloane for the entire episode, kind of funny actually.

Vince gets married, but it was the most laughably bad scenario imaginable. The journalist should have been introduced in the first episode if they were going to go this route.

Of course, all of this was expected. Don't get me wrong, I knew tonight would be something like this because they didn't have much set up in the first place. Still weird to see it though.

Agreed. Terrible... What a waste of a season.

Ari is offered John's position, meaning he'll be the CEO of their fictionalized version of Time-Warner if he accepts. He's given a week to decide, and tells Mrs. Ari (yup) nothing. Same old Ari.

Guys what happened after the credits?

Ari and wife at a coastal villa in italy, lounging by a pool. Ari gets a call, it's the head of a huge company (I forget which) that had been on the show before, and that had offered Ari the job that he gave to Dana Gordon. The guy told Ari he wanted Ari to take over his job and make fuckloads of money. They faded to black as Ari told his wife that the cable guy had been on the phone.

Fuck this show and the finale. Approached Simpsons level of decline in quality over the years and the horrible POINTLESS finale proves it.

I enjoyed it.

The last two episodes were really nice.

I don't get the marriage thing, because...well...the reporter chick had no interest last episode and she is con-VINCE-d after one date?

Hmmm...

Oh well.

The final scene had shades of season 6's finale in the hanger...that was an excellent episode.

Anyway, I'll miss it. I need to get the last couple of DVD's to finish the collection. It had its ups and downs, but it was always a fun show to watch.

There will definitely be either a movie or spin-off. They didn't even tell us what happened to Johnny's show, what of Turtle's restaurant, and of course, the whole ending was an entire setup to something new for Ari. The whole episode was actually really good...but it made for an awful ending to a series.

Btw, using Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" was pretty epic. It defined the ending quite well.

Terrible finale for a series, would have been a great finale for a season.

Loved that song and how filled with allegory it was for the show as a whole.

Just finished the finale.

Gotta say that it got to me a bit. Yeah it was a big wtf at Vince getting married so soon and so much happening between episodes, but man I feel like I know these guys for all the years I put into following this show from the good to the bad and now that its over show wise, I'm pretty sad.

The finale was a bit rushed and it really didn't tie up many loose ends, so I'm sure the rumors of a movie in the works is true. Can't wait for that as I already miss hanging out with "the guys" and will miss this show greatly. My Sundays will never be the same anymore during the season the show runs.

That was pretty terrible. I didn't watch the credits, so I guess I missed out on what must have been the lead-in to the movie. Really, the only characters whose stories were done competently were Ari and Drama... Vince's was easily the worst as they did absolutely nothing to reply develop something serious between him and the reporter. Vince falling head over heels for the first girl to outright reject him? Please...

I'm still sad it's over. I quite enjoyed the show as a whole. I'll probably but the compete set (including the movie) when it releases.

Normally I don't comment on how hot some actress is but by god, that is the holiest of asses I've ever seen. It's the outfit that really makes everything shine.

I haven't watched it yet and while it sucks that spoiler tags weren't used more often, judging by what I read there weren't any surprises. I think I need to find out which season finale was the best then choose to cut off the series at that point.

Will probably kick off a rewatch at some point, too. I remember loving almost all the episodes from the early seasons... time to revisit that shit.

Remember when they shot Medillon and there were rumors that the show might not even return after the writers strike?

I'm glad we got more, even if it ended up being not so great.

I will miss this show.

Fuck I think we need a OT for Melissa and her ass now

If anyone has more pics of her in good quality, please post :D

This season was terrible considering the writers had the luxury of knowing this was the final season from the start.

Premiere episode resolved tons of shit off-screen, all the episodes afterwards were mostly filler, and the final episode was rushed as fuck while also leaving a bunch of stuff unresolved for a movie that will probably never happen.

Would've made a good season finale, but it sucked as the series finale.

Wow. I could maybe understand that finale if they found out the show was getting canceled with one or two episodes to go. But to know they had eight episodes to work with, completely disregard that fact, and choose to just have a bunch of silliness happen in the finale, giving the characters convenient and implausible resolutions? Just horrible.

This show had a lot of good times; it's a shame it had to end like that.

The entire episode was rushed. Vince marrying the reporter within 24 hours, really? Everything else was okay and I liked the post credits scene, it sets up nicely for a movie or spin-off.

DAT ASS!

"who's the broad?"
"that's his wife ya jerkoff"

lol

shit ending

edit: the title song was good ill give it that

more like dat cellulite

Wow that was so unbelievably rushed. Maybe it's because I'm just not used to nice Ari, but everything about the way he talks has just felt so off this season since the separation. Him trying to sweet talk out of desperation is just so weird.

Been a pretty big supporter of Entourage even through these mediocre seasons, but man, even I felt something was very off about that finale. The biggest WTF is Sophia agreeing to marry Vince though. THAT is just too far.

Also, I hope that ending leads into a movie, and then into The Ari Gold Show. I was really sad thinking that there could never be a spinoff with Ari quitting before that happened.

Ugg.

"I'm a respectable journalist and I won't fuck actors" cut to a week later "I'm a slut that goes on one date with an actor and then marries him". In what world, fictional or not, does that end well for anyone?

I'm so disappointed in this season as a whole.

Oh, and DAT ASS!

Damn watching Ari's wife's ass after the credits was amazing. In high definition I even saw a mole on her inner thigh next to her pussy. As expected a very rushed finale and I knew they were going with the wedding thing with Vince. I even said that was going to happen with the dinner, but it happened at the beginning instead of the end. I really don't understand why they decided to only do an 8 episode season this year.

I dunno, I thought it was fine. I didn't catch most of the season, so I had no idea who the girl Vince is marrying was, but I figured all of this stuff was to be expected. It's a show about people being insanely rich, popular and successful in life; wasn't really expecting anything that big.

I'd definitely see a movie finale if they did it, though I'm not even sure how they could pull that off without having another twist occur that will be resolved in the span of 2-3 episodes.

Yep. Worst series finale ever and this isn't just some comic book guy quota to fill.

Ari hasn't been Ari in a long time and I thought at least in the finale we should see him go out with a bang. He should have told Mrs. Ari he quit, right before throwing Bobby Flay out of his bedroom window and being hauled away by the cops, grinning from ear to ear as his wife kisses him and arranges the bond for his bail.

And yeah, Vince's sophisticated girlfriend who repeatedly rebuffed Vince's previous advances and grudgingly accepts to a date is then going to marry him twenty four hours later. Lulz.

Just started watching, but on this... they close that story arc within 30 seconds of the intro finishing? Fucking sloppy.

So far, pretty much every season finale felt like a better series finale than this. I also can't believe how quickly the stories of Johnny Bananas and his TV movie were finished off. Given how much emphasis JB had put on it at the end of last season, it's shit that it was brushed off in such a non-conclusive way. A handful of words on the phone from Dice does not a convincing wrap up make.

Finally finished. I'm just going to forget that this season (and probably the last) didn't exist. That episode was the olive that tops off the shit sandwich that was seasons 7 and 8 of Entourage.

Looking back at the season blurbs on Wikipedia, they should've finished after season 6. E proposes to Sloane, Lloyd finally becomes an Asian, Vince goes off to shoot another great movie with Drama and Turtle in tow, Ari takes over Terrence's business... would've been a fitting end.

At the end of the day, this was an amazing season, way better than the previous one. The finale was so fitting, finally some feelgood - and it was proper this way. There is only so much shit one imaginary character can take before it feels really, really forced. Here, they avoided that trap.

Nah, Ari realising he had missed his daughter growing up and deciding to throw everything away to try and spend some of his life with his family finally was worth all the bullshit. Too bad everything else was shit. Crappy writing with fantastic acting by Jeremy Piven. At least he is free to go do something else now.

Still seemed a bit uncharacteristic on his part, though. Like, you could see that it was time for him to express those sentiments but it was just bizarre in the way that he did it.

Dude, no offense, but catharsis does not wait for you to be "in-character". It comes.
And it was the perfect picturing of one with Ari.

Shit. Complete pulp and utter garbage. Every descent person working on this show, should refuse the paycheck and get his/her name removed from the credits. It's that bad.

It was ok. The Vince/Sofia thing was crazy, and I couldn't figure out why Sloane kept giving such a fuck what her father thought, etc etc. The Ari stuff was great, I thought.

The last two episodes saved the season for me and Miss Ari is awesome. I liked the Finale and my favorite quote is.

"You'll always be the gay son I never wanted"
