Give me DOOM or give me death.
Why would SE not be involved?
It's so weird that the impending release of SNES would lead to ending production on the NES. There is massive demand for the classic, and the internals will be essentially identical. What's the conflict? I don't understand why they can't do both- beyond incompetence.
Scarcity (also called paucity) is the fundamental economic problem of having seemingly unlimited human wants in a world of limited resources. It states that society has insufficient productive resources to fulfill all human wants and needs.

Why would they be? Consider:
-- Square-Enix SNES games were only released for the Wii VC. WiIU and N3DS VC never got them.
-- Square-Enix publishes and sells its own games on digital storefronts (Google Play, App Store, Steam)
Unless Nintendo is willing to pay SE well and/or works out a royalties system, SE has no reason to put its stuff on SNES Mini.
I'll buy it the minute it's hacked.
Why aren't Nintendo allowed to release SuperFX games now?

I'm still sour as fuck about the NES Mini, but I'll try even harder for this one.
God damn it.

I love the SNES but almost don't want this thing to exist just because of all the frustration and ill-will it's going to create.
Take pre-orders on your site, Nintendo. Cash in advance, no returns except to replace defective units, everyone who orders one gets one. There will be no excess stock to worry about, no insane mark-ups from scalpers, and no tears shed by loyal consumers.
They should re-release the original hardware. With the cartridge slot and all.
Otherwise, make a Nintendo AppleTV like device that's basically a dumb terminal to the Nintendo eShop to buy Virtual Console games.
Soldered on 30 emulated games is kind of a let down to me. This seems like the Atari and Genesis toys you see near checkouts in the home stores.
I really do not get the appeal. It's more junk in my life I don't want.
I'm glad you guys are excited for it though. I'm not trying to sound like I'm knocking it. Stating only what I wish Nintendo would do or if they have a better idea I'm open to that too.
I love reading all your stories about the NES mini. I'm not trying to be a pessimistic old man. I promise.

How about a more expensive Classic SNES with the same hardware? It's so weird that the impending release of SNES would lead to ending production on the NES. There is massive demand for the classic, and the internals will be essentially identical. What's the conflict? I don't understand why they can't do both- beyond incompetence.
lol
That would never happen, the tech is so ancient that no one manufactures the internals involved. It would be expensive to reproduce it.
Not only that, the sound chip for the SNES is from Sony. Good luck licensing that.
Makes no sense that this is partly the reason for the NES mini being discontinued. Depending on your age and gaming history you might not give a shit about one of them. Why not continue to sell both?
Give me DOOM or give me death.
"Why do I need a Super NES Mini when I have this NES Mini?"
You can bet this and the N64 Mini and the GameCube Mini are going to be locked down this time
Sorry, I should have stated that it obviously won't happen, but I just assumed it was so far fetched it was obvious.
Gotta be careful on the internet. People take you seriously.

Hopefully they remember to put in wireless controllers this time instead of controllers with 3 feet cords. It's 2017 ffs!!!
OverOver/Under on the number of Street Fighter 2 versions in this starts at 1.5
