I don't know anything about the anime but there's already a psp game and a vita game is coming.

Well my post was about the game within the show where people are trapped within a VR MMORPG where if they die in the game their VR helmet will fry their brains (seriously).

I was imagining the scenario from the other side of the coin, so rather than playing the game I'm reading daily news on GAF about those trapped in the game.

Bit morbid I know.

The simpsons has had a lot of great looking game parodies. With smaller developers being a thing now the early 90s style games could probably be done in a collection of short games.

I had it, too. It circulated around the internet. You just needed a modded PS1 to play it, or some device that booted pirated games and imports.

Umm.. Fix-It Felix Jr. is an actual game that you can find and play at conventions. I had the high score on one of them at a convention for an entire day.

Personally, I was kind of sad that they never released it as "fake Virtual Console" during the time the movie was in theaters.

Bingo. You can play it in quite a few different places in Disney World.

Last year, for April Fools, Google changed it's Google Map view to use the original NES Dragon Quest tiles. They even made a fake commercial for people to order the Famicom cart that acted as a modem for the system, and would run Google Maps.

I've never looked into it, but it would be amazing if someone did manage to take all of those gameplay elements and make them into a game. Even if they did cut some of the more obscure ones out, because some of that would be pretty hard to make work.
