Ohshima, who left Sonic Team designed all the NiGHTS characters. I really feel for the guy, he's surrounded by mediocrity at Artoon, and can only watch as his Sega creations are pimped out for maximum profit.

That's why I thought we'd never see it again, although I guess Naka did produce and was the main programmer.

hmm.. i know more people that disliked or even hated the game than I knew that loved it..

for me, it was the reason I bought a Sega Saturn and still have it hooked up.

Would love it if they released a graphically upgraded NiGHTS 1 with Christmas NiGhts included *AND* the lost levels that were to be included in NiGHTS PC but was cancelled.. I think that would be a better game/package than a new nights, personally, but have confidence they'll be able to make a new nights, and make it good.

Huh. Never played NiGHTS, and that was the first time I actually watched any footage of it despite hearing the GAF splooge fest for it. Seems like a cool game... just watching that video I got a very ethereal, dream-like quality to the gameplay (which I guess fits considering the name of the game.) I'd check it out if it came out for Rev.

I always dug the way Pachinko machines and Pinball machines influenced Yuji Naka's design sensibilities. NiGHTS was alot of fun (totally dug the flying mechanic) so I will be looking forward to his Revolution adventures.

I bought a Saturn for the first time a few years ago just to play NiGHTS. I'm glad I did. I'm very excited if this rumor is true, and I can only imagine the excitement of people who have been waiting, what, 10 years since the original?

Ohshima also created Sonic, though Naka always gets credited.

Artoon is made up of mainly former Sonic Team and Team Andromeda staff... they have an amazing pedigree (Sonic CD, NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon, Burning Rangers) which makes their crappy track record all the more baffling (BLiNX, Pinobee, Toshi Topsy-Turvy). Here's to hoping Blue Dragon breaks the trend.

Anyways, I think that Famitsu is one of the most trusted source in the WEB; so, probably, the development of a Nights sequel for Revolution is true.

It's not NiGHTS unless Tomoko Sasaki is on the project. I just beat Ristar and I thought the music sounded familiar. Same composer did both.
